How to disable the autodim at 5%? - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a mod or something I can do to disable this? I don't know if it already exists or not but I'm running hyperdrive and my battery life is crazy good and 5% usually means I have about 30 minutes left and it would be nice if I could actually see my screen at this level. Thanks guys

Regarding battery life

Hello
Long time Hero user who switched to blackberry and now back to android. I've had note 2 for 3 months now and I'm actually disappointed from its battery level. Not that its not enough. .it just didnt live up to its expectations
Through constant whatsapp messaging only (today) 40% drained in 7-8 hours. . I know its a long time but shouldn't it last longer or is 3g that much of a battery usage?
Also does charging with a 2a non official charger might affect my battery? And with the time frames I have available for charging I can never get a full charge. .does that matter?
And is pile stocking on applications and games affecting my battery? Even if they are not open? (Currently using go power master for that)

Show some screen shots of the battery graph. I was just wondering what was your screen time to get a better idea.

Ive already charged it for a bit

You can click on that little chart to see a more detailed view of your battery consumption. Your battery life is a bit on the short side (compared to mine at least), Im guessing the screen is the culprit. Do you have brightness all the way down? How much screen time does the phone get?
@Shei77
For me is battery consumption pretty fine. It depends of course what I am doing with the phone through the day. For example yesterday after whole day "playing" with phone from time to time I had around 70%. I am chargin it when I go to sleep because still if I have in the morning 30-50% it wont make it through day when I dont have option to charge it. Just to add, I have Wifi and GPS always on.
If constant messaging for 7-8 hours means the screen being on for 7ish hours, you have ridiculously good battery life at 40 percent..

Nah.. its sending a message every 4-5 minutes average..

I'd say your battery life is fine, im guessing maybe even better than mine. Im doing 6h 37m right now with 69% left, H+/3G always on, with moderate screen time and a bit of gaming.
Huh..what about charging?
Also any tips for extending? Ram keeps filling up after some time..is it cause I have a lot of applications?

As shown from your screenshot your phone signals are really bad. That might be contributing to the drain of the battery.
I think your battery life is fine :good: Usually with my note 2 i can do 4 display hours and 1 day or more of battery life. 3g/h+ always on, lumi 50% all sync on, calls, gaming and web.
This is the current on screen which is a few hours after the first screenshots
What can I do about signals? And if I have a lot of apps do they consume battery through background?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Really, your battery life isn't that bad. The 7 or so screen time hours you'll get if that continues, is pretty good!
And to your other questions, charger type doesn't affect battery performance. Charging time should take around 2,5 hours from 0 to 100, if you're far away from that, the charger might be at fault.

Charging usually takes 3 hours for a full charge and according to my charging current its using 1698mah

I updated it just a couple of days ago I need an expert opinion on how good my battery's time is.
^No offence, but without screen on time a battery stats is just meaningless!
So kindly post your 'Screen on' time.
@shei77: You're on H+ and you're having almost three hours screen on time, with 60 odd percent left. That is very good battery life.
'Swyped' from my GT-N7100
Maybe a bit OT, but what I have noticed is that when the phone reports fully charged, Elixir widget still displays 1600mA being charged into the device? Also, when the battery is full at 100%, the phone is still pretty warm! I don;t remember my HTC did that? It was warm, but when it reached 100% it cooled down and was not hot anymore... I tend to keep phone in charger in the evening because I use wifi hotspot....
My battery life is awesome I'm on cm 10.1 rom with uneak kernel, cm 10.1 is smooth and great performance and great on battery life,
I have attached a screen shot of battery stats...

Do the features like Smart Scroll, Air view, and air gesture drain the battery?

If I have the features turned on, will it actually drain my battery if I'm not using them? If i want to conserve battery, should I just turn off these features? Or does it only use the battery when the features are being used? Also, is the battery consumption significant? Anybody here done tests of battery life with the features on vs. off?
Absolutely.

Ok so I should really only turn them on when I actually need them (Air view/gesture is really handy for answering calls/checking texts in the car without getting in trouble with cops). Really loving the ease of being able to switch features/settings on/off in the notifications window. This is my first jellybean phone.
My suggestion is to use all the features if you have a charger near by and plan on using them all the time. If not then save your battery and only turn them on when really needed.
It's using battery simply by being on standby and waiting for you to use a gesture or any other feature. Not sure how much though.

Thanks. This is basically what I've been doing. I use those features when I'm at home since I have my charger here. I should really get a charger for the car though
I'm not contradicting brava as these features certainly use battery but I live in a rural part of the Poconos and reception is all over the place and I consistently get 14-16 hours out of my battery unless I'm constantly on it.. That's polling my email every 15 minutes weather every 3 hours, 100 or so texts a day.. Works out to about 3-3 1/2 hours screen on time a day..
The only thing I don't have turned on is smart scroll
YMMV but overall I find the benefits of the added smart and gesture features negate the extra hour if battery life I may or may not get..
Again to each their own

Battery life problems

Is anyone else experiencing very bad battery life? I use it for five minutes and it drops 5%... Am I doing some
Thing wrong?
Sent from my SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
Welcome to life of the S4. No youre not doimg anything wrong. The best thing I can suggest is using Juice Defender, and a Task Manager. Turning mobile data off when not in use, screen brightness at about halfway. I can squeez about 20 hours out of this phone with moderate use this way.

You're doing something wrong if it drops one percent per minute

You could give the new qualcomm battery app a shot... takes a few days to read your usage then starts adjusting things like app sync times etc to save your battery.
I just started trying it out. Looks promising.

Battery life is like the only good thing about the galaxy s4. I'm so disappointed with the lag and the overall performance of the phone. But battery life lasts me the whole day. I have the At&t galaxy s4.
What's the app called?

From my personal experience with it, it keeps waking up my phone when it goes into deep sleep. It wastes more battery by constantly waking it than it saves me.

When you restore your phone, are you restoring all the apps? One bad app is all it takes. you should reset to stock, and not install any apps. Then when you see that it runs ok, install one at a time as you test.
Not sure who has lag issues, but my phone rocks. No lag here and battery life is great.
No lag here, at all... My best for battery is 3 days, with 4 and a half hours screen-time...

Keep in mind there are lots of variables at work.
Wifi vs. Cell data - Turn on Wifi and battery usage goes down a LOT - if you are in a wifi area all the time. Cellular data is a battery pig.
Weak signal area - another battery pig - i have had phones drain in 8 hours doing nothing if i had poor reception
Usage mix - Your 2.5 hours of screen time, could be good if you have screen at high brightness and are streaming cellular data (movie) and if you are also syncing email, facebook, and everything else in the background.
If you do all your data by Cellular, then 4 hours of screen time will probably be your limit. It is hard to tell if you have a wake lock issue or not, as we don't know anything else about your usage, apps that are frozen, gestures on/off, etc.

What does the next screen show - when you tap on the graph - it will show screen on time and wake time.
And do you have power save mode on?

Audio Out 2 is KILLING my battery!!!!!

I think something is wrong with my phone. I have the 7500 Zero lemon and my battery started from 96 to 27 percent in less than a day. In my screen shot it says 30% to 27% but I restarted my phone a couple times. I really want to know how I can prevent the audio out 2 from eating my battery. Thanks!
Turn off sounds, key touch, etc

Not getting the renowned battery life, help?

This is from today. Im rooted, but turned off greenify and wakelock terminator for these stats. Only thing disabled is carrier IQ. I normally get around 4 hours SOT. While that sounds good, its nothing to compared to some stats i see posted. I have knockOn disabled, only use wifi and nfc. No locations or bluetooth.

I do nine of this nonsense and can get 48 hours+ battery life with normal usage
