I have verizon variant with clockwork recovery installed. I know how to download the backup via the webserver but I would like to be able to transfer my backups to my computer using a USB cable. How do I do this?

In order to transfer files between your phone and computer using USB cable, you should install USB drivers. You'll find them on LG support site. BTW, I used these drivers from LG G2 Forum.

Anything that I can try besides Odin to flash the EB01 modem with? I can't get odin, our my computer, to recognize my phone while in download mode.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you the latest drivers?
Are you entering download mode with the battery out?
You gotta work on getting your pc to see your phone properly before you can even try odin, definitely need the right drivers, also can try rebooting phone while usb is plugged in.

Ad far as I know I have the latest drivers. I finally got the pc to recognize the phone with it turned on to transfer files. So that tells me the drivers are working. And yes, entering dl mode by pulling batt. Not sure where to go from here.
Try all your USB ports. Are you using the original cord that came with your phone?
If you know how to use adb see if normal operations work

FYI I have one desktop and three laptops in my house. one laptop refuses to recognise my fascinate... all the others work fine. Oddly enough..that same computer recognises my friends fascinate. Neither the laptop or my desktop would recognise my droid x but my mothers laptop works fine with my x.
I beginning to think all phones have crappy usb drivers.
I eventually got my desktop to recognise the X too but I had to do some wanky driver cleaning and removing / reinstalling all the USB hardware detected by windows.. and some cab cleaning.
not even sure what worked.
stuff is wack...
I have started cleaning my register on my laptop. Just to see if that would work. Lol. Got to get some permissions worked out first though.

Hello,
after trying out a few roms i wanted to go back to stock and wanted to have a completely clean device.
So i went booted to TWRP recovery and wiped everything i could (including the currently installed ROM and internal storage).
So I wanted to mount USB to copy the ROM on my device but it doesn't connect to the PC.
So I'm stuck in recovery and have no idea how to connect it.
I hear the sound of the PC recognizing a USB connection but then comes that USB error sound you hear when it fails to connect.
Please help
Of course it doesn't. Internal storage is not UMS.
Use adb to push files.
Also, if you want to go back to stock you don't use recovery. Use the bootloader and fastboot.
Follow this guide. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312

Can you please explain why UMS had been disabled on custom ROMs? It was so easy to transfer data to memory using UMS!
Sent from my Xperia Neo V using xda app-developers app
I did try to push via adb but as I said the USB didn't connect
but thanks I did go back to the thread u posted and noticed there are two links for the drivers
it seems that the 2nd one (it's the one I had installed) doesn't actually include adb drivers so my device couldn't connect
well so I installed the drivers from the first link and it's resolved thanks a lot!
at some point in the last 6 months or so, my phone lost the ability to connect to my computer- I've tested by uninstalling and reinstalling the USB drivers on my computer, using virtual drivers, etc. Everything I could- I even tested on other computers that it has worked on in the past. Nothing helps.
I then decided it must be on my phones end, so I went so far as to replace the USB connection board inside my phone and that doesnt even work.
I used to have my phone rooted, but that was lost at some point over a couple OTA updates-- Is there anyway I can restore root access on my device without using a USB connection, or does anyone have any ideas on how to fix the connection issue?
Thanks!
Did you check the cable?

Multiple cables as well. I'd do that before replacing the board!

Try the following
1)Boot into booloader and check in device manager if the phone is detected if so then go flash-all.bat 4.4.3( will wipe your phone, new phone factory)

Well,in that case...i don't know.Maybe you should go to a specialist.
Look for flashify, a app can flash recovery, once you have recovery, you can have root.

please answer below question
1. what os use on your PC ?
2. do you install others driver beside google adb and fastboot?
3. what version of adb and fastboot you have if you have installed before
4. you said you have OTA udpate from gogole or form the ROM developer?
note:
you need to install latest adb and fastboot. latest version is .31
if you have other 2 or more driver installed before, it may crash or mis regonice the phone, like samsung and google driver for Galaxy nexus which i facing.
some help form external web here
I have same problem, i tried even on linux. What is worst i removed rom from sdcard and now my current rom crashed. When i try to pull new rom via adb, new file is created but is "empty". Usb otg doesn't work in recovery ;/
I am seeing the same thing also. I even bought a USB replacement part on ebay and installed it. The PC still doesn't see the device.
My girlfriends T mobile LG G2 D801 was dropped and the screen cracked and the digitizer only recognizes the left of the screen so she can not input her lock code. Being pretty android savvy I was hoping I could figure out a way to get CWM installed to be able to pull her pictures off the SD card for her. Unfortunately I can not connect to the phone through ADB since I can only assume she never turned USB debugging on because why would she? The phone is stock rom unrooted. I booted into the stock recovery and only have the option to wipe the phone which I would assume will wipe her sd card also. I booted into download mode and upgraded the recovery with the LG support tool for the hell of it. So obviously I'm able to install a new recovery that route but I cant find anyway to install CWM without a working screen or USB debugging already enabled. Does anyone have any suggestions? Bricking the phone trying isnt really a concern since it needs to be sent back to the insurance company anyway. Any help is appreciated.
I don't think you have to do all that work. What you can do instead is get a USB OTG Cable. Depending on how urgent it is, you can order it on eBay for a dollar OE two but it takes week to arrive. Or you can go to FRYS Electronic and get it for $5. Use the otg cable with a mouse to use the screen and upload all of the sd card to Google drive. Or you can make it so mtp is automatically enabled

Thanks, ill see if she can wait before it has to be sent back. So no way to flash a recovery in its state now?
Basically, it is hard to flash recovery without USB debugging or access to touch to be quite honest.

Thats what ive found also. Its too bad the lg tool cant be used to flash different recoveries like the samsung tool can.

Hey, so today I wanted to install a new ROM on my SM-N900 Note 3. I flashed TWRP, and rebooted. Then I booted into TWRP and opened Android File transfer on my Mac. It kept saying please connect USB device. Other parts of the system do not read the device, however TWRP says the device is charging from my Mac's USB port. I moved to my Windows computer and connected the device. Still nothing. I tried multiple USB cables both 2.0 and 3.0. Nothing works! Can someone help me? I have no OS installed! I don't want to use ODIN or download mode because I would prefer to the install the ROM I'm trying to install because it seems silly that I have recovery access but can't access the file transfer.
Thanks, Justin
No SD Card?

via PC, Odin is the easiest way.
va Mobile, Recovery + ROM in SD card is the easiest way.

I've used ODIN before but I had thought was incompatible with zips. I'll try it today though. And no, I don't have an SD card. I'm trying to move the files into my internal storage.
Thanks, Justin.
MTP doesn't work with TWRP. You'll have to use adb and push the zip to your internal storage. Then flash it through TWRP.
There are many guides on how to do this, it is very simple. Good luck
Edit- i see you're using a mac, not sure if adb works on there.. never tried myself.. always installed linux on any apple product i've owned
I haven't researched it so it might work straight away, but if not just create a vm with xp, ubuntu or something and use adb through there

That's strange, I'm pretty sure my old Nexus 7 could do this. Oh well.
Code:
adb devices
does not work. It doesn't show the device in recovery. File transfer and ADB only work while the OS is booted up.

There's a button in TWRP called disable MTP or enable MTP. It has no effect. I cannot find any sign of a ADB button.

Nope. Not working. Started ADB sideload from TWRP and tried to push in a random zip from my computer (about 2 mb). it said error: device not found.

Someone can clarify this?
