Hi there, I'm having the same problem and so far I haven't managed to fix it, regardless of all the possible solutions I tried. Anyway, you might want to take a look at this thread I started earlier about the same issue, maybe the solutions methods posted there can help you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47672519
Good luck!

Is it just me or are facebook contacts not working? As in they won't sync with the people app on my phone. It did not work for me in a stock rom or the euroskank rom and i was just wondering how to fix it if there is a possible way. Like is this a nexus thing or something, idk any input would be appreciated!:cyclops:
Does not work for me either with my N4 or N7. Easy way around this is to use haxsync.

From your homepage on your Nexus. Go to settings> accounts > facebook > contacts sync. I think that should work

Facebook does not use the proper way Google wants for contact syncs, so that's why it doesn't work on pure Android OS.
Google it.

HaxSync works perfectly for me on my N4. Perhaps there is something wrong with your set up that is preventing HaxSync from working for you?

The fix is for Facebook to fix their Contact sync. Or use 3rd party programs.
Facebook thinks you don't own your contacts. If someone removes you as a friend Facebook things that contact info should dissappear from your phone. That's not right and that's not what Google allows.

That's the way I did it, and it worked for me... Stock rooted 4.2.1
The profile pictures sucked, though... I had haxsync, but found that Contact Sync for Facebook does a far better job getting statuses, bdays, and most important, those nice looking, hi res profile pics

Hey guys, I have a problem with my CM nightly. It's the first one I flashed so I haven't upgraded from another nightly. I can't seem to get mobile data to work, it's stuck at roaming. Rebooting, changing the data settings, nothing fixes this. I've tried airplane mode on/off, setting APN (it was already set as it should), booting without a SIM, reflashing my CWM recovery and CM nightly multiple times, older nightlies... I can't think of anything more I could do and I'm about to give up. Any ideas? I live in Scandinavia if that's of any help.

I don't think your APN settings are correct.
I had to add 1 line to mine to get it to work properly. It all looked fine but then I noticed just 1 setting had been reset.
Have a good thorough look over every single setting and make sure you're not missing one.
This thread already started a million times and none of them fixed my problem.
So the thing is today my wifi got from blue to gray. Now none of the google services are working..only dolphin browser.
I tried to clear data from play services and google play.
I tried to connect to a different wifi. Same problem
I tried rebooting
I tried turning wifi on and off.
I rooted the device a week ago. Today I installed apex launcher, which I also removed but no help.
Stock rom, only rooted and unlocked.
What to do?
I don't want to factory restore.

Well, I don't play around with my N7 a lot, since the whole family uses it...my daughter would freak if Netflix wasn't working.....so I put something on it, and if its very stable....I leave it alone quite awhile.
So, I'm on XenonHD 4.2.2. Had zero issues with it. I personally don't use 4.3, cause flash is pretty much a mess, for me anyway....no matter what browser I use. So 4.3 is out for me.

Make sure the SSID you are trying to connect to is on 2.4ghz only. No 5ghz radio in the 2012 Nexus, and that can confuse school routers. Try a coffee shop with free WiFi.

Hmm...not sure. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to do it on 4.3 and above. Not that I've found so far, anyway. One kind of roundabout way might be to make a VPN connection, and then specify the DNS settings for the VPN connection? Not sure about that, but it seems like it might work.

Hi, I am the developer of DNSwitch.
I got contradicting reports that on 4.3+ it doesn't do it or does what it's supposed to do and have started looking for info if there is any API change. And ended up here. It could be just trolls (to push the paid competition, for example ) so confirmation would be helpful. So is this a definitive YES that it does work on your device?
Anyone else's info on the subject would be welcome as well, of course.
Thanks.

I don't get that 'OpenDNS filters' thing. Does that mean the dns port is blocked by your ISP? In that case you really only can channel out your DNS requests thru vpn (nice enough by them to allow port 443/https traffic, I suppose? )
Blocking basic internet services is dumb IMHO...
