My nexus 4 was fine the last few days, last night it died when i got home and has been being very complicated and weird. It went from no charge to 100% in like 5 min. Now today it died saying it had a full battery. In my car when i charge it i just get a solid red light. While i charge it here at work the red light flashes once, shows me the battery on screen with the bolt in it then turns off and keeps doing that over and over. Almost like a charging screen loop of death or something. Any ideas or fixes?

Cool thanks, I didn't have to do all those steps, just pulled the battery wires off and back on and it came right back on full charged. Thanks.

Easiest fix for red LED of death is to hold volume up and power for a minute, then charge.

Has anybody else had charging issues with their Nexus7? Mine ran out of juice this morning and shut down on me so I plugged in in to the original charger and its been on charge to 9 hours uninterrupted... yet just picked it up for some browsing sitting in the garden and the battery is only at 35% charged??? Something not right there surely?
Any advice

I noticed that mine will only charge with the factory charger so far.

Did you also use the original cable?
Yes, original everything....

Since posting this question, its been back on charge and as of now its up to 43%... not sure what's happening or if this was because it was completely dead I.e. wonder if the charger stops after a pre-set period??

There is a rather large thread on this issue. Something about which kind of cable and other issues. I have to use the OEM or it will not charge.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
3hrs later and fully charged.... odd, perhaps a freak issue... so to confirm, used original charger and cable from the beginning... 9hrs to 35% then a further 3hrs with a disconnect to get to 100%
Thanks for assistant all,

2% now.. maybe work now
Well I had the same problem with mine & I was told took off the back and check the wire plugging into the battery & that should do the trick. Although it wasn't the cute for mine. I did a hard reset and it ended up charging! Hope this helps

Just don't turn it on, leave it to charge for a couple of minutes, and you should be fine. Happened to mine when I left it on while I was on school camp, and when I came back home, it won't charge, and I have to leave it there for 1hr and then, bang, back to normal

I don't know if it's the battery or maybe the rom's battery display. I was at 33% when I plugged in my charger bam 100%.I rebooted and everything is fine. Should I worry about it?

No. It's a known bug. We all have it once in a while.

So I picked up my nexus 7 after a week of not using it and connected it to a charger. Nothing happened, not even the battery icon to show its charging. Left it on for 6 hours, still nothing, doesn't even power on. Never been rooted but I have bricked my old phone before and I can say my nexus is behaving the same way. Could it of possibly bricked itself or is this a hardware defect? I have no warranty anymore so dont suggest sending it back either. Thanks!

Inspect the USB connector for bent or damaged pins, it is likely that battery ran dry and USB is borked where it won't charge.

Any luck yet? I had the same problem once when I left mine for a few weeks.
Holding both volume and power buttons seemed to work for me.
Hope you get it sorted

There r only 3 solutions
1) Charge your nexus 7 for at least an hour
2) take out the battery and push it back in
3) hard reset your nexus 7 or keep holding the power button for 60 seconds

Hi,
Since about a week ago my nexus suddenly started to die at about 30-40%, it depends. I don't really care about the fact that my battery is empty, but the fact that it happens on 30% and I don't receive a notification at 14% is really annoying. Is there a fix for this?
I'm running Aicp with stock Aicp kernel.
EDIT: Since I stopped charging my battery percentage hasn't changed for about half an hour.
Edit 2: I rebooted and now it's 41%.. Really strange

It's getting worser now, it usually turns off when it's around 40% and around 50% I lose connection with mobile network and can't connect any more. I've tried different radio's but had no effect. I'd really like to know how to fix this. Or is the only solution to buy a new battery?

Take the back off the phone and see if your battery is bulging. This sounds like a battery issue. I had similar symptoms on my last phone. I took the battery out and spun it like a top.

Yeah I had it with my old galaxy Y too, my battery became so fat the battery cover didn't fit any more. But that happened slightly, this came out of nothing.

Haha, I was with friends and suddenly I noticed that I was able to spin my phone, and together with the fact that the battery was acting strange I thought it must have been swollen. And yesterday I saw a little lump.
