Is it possible and how can I enable multi-window function in my builds? I'd found some instructions, but it for 4.3.1, and I can't find how to do it in 4.4

It is not yet included in official Omni repo, so you can have it only if you, or someone else, cherry pick it and compile the build(s) of your own.

Hello Everyone
I want to compile the AOSP kernel for nexus 4 including the latest hardware (qualcomm from codeaurora for example) drivers. No other modification.
Can someone point me to the right direction?
Thanks!

Maybe this could help:

Hope it helps!.

Thanks for your reply
I know how to include the binaries posted by google, what I want is to build the binaries and use them myself
I think PA HALO is an Open source project now. I wonder if some developer has got it working on Stock 4.3 ROM or if someone could develop it. Thanks in Advance!

Afaik, No developer will work on this as this is only one feature you are asking for.. Please see the Original dev section, you habe many Roms that have this feature apart from their own features.. PA the best..

You can add it to any ROM yourself. Just check out paranoid androids halo source code it tells you what exactly you need to do

Hi,
No luck here either.
I went to the link provided in the OP.
Clicked on "List of devices and resources".
On the new page I clicked on "Check out the AOSP for XPeria Z2 tablet project on Github".
Created the "local_manifests" folder and file within as said on the new page.
THEN it says "Download the zip file with vendor binaries from: http://developer.sonymobile.com/knowledge-base/open-source/android-open-source-project-for-xperia-devices/"...
And that's where the problem is : that page is not available...
So we're obviously missing some resources to be able to build at least if we'd like to build KK...
And I know KK is now an old and outdated thing of the far past.
But I happen to use XPosed. And that does not work on LOL.
If I can't customise to my needs, then I can stick to stock and debloat to my liking.
Regards.

Hi Tim,
Thanks for your answer.
That's the link to the LOL binaries.
As I said in my post, I am looking for the KK binaries because XPosed does not work (for now ? but for how long ?) on LOL...
Anyways, even with the binaries provided (LOL or KK for Z2 Phone, not Tablet) I am unable to build.
As soon as I fire the build, I immediately get an error "The make file you're using is version 4.1. Build requires make file version 3.81 or 3.82".
So the "make" file is too recent and Sony did not care to update it's sources...
I really am wondering why Sony makes such an effort to provide a "beginner's friendly guide to build AOSP for Xperia" if the whole thing is then obviously aimed only at developers that can help themselves out of those problems.
Regards.

Hi,
Cool... but WTF doesn't Sony also release the needed binaries to build an AOSP but KK version ?
I would like to build KK because I would then like to customise to my own needs without having to install a Custom ROM and for that I would like to use XPosed.
But Xposed does not seem to support LOL for now...
So a KK binary would be much appreciated... at least on my side !
Regards.

Why is the Z2 Tablet Wifi (castor_windy - SGP511/SGP512) not supported?
Also, is there an AOSP 4.4.x too?.

it is supported look on aosp m thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe.../aosp-6-0-marshmallow-sony-xperia-z2-t3235935
These builds are based on sonys aosp release
4.4.x is not builded yet but should work too

Thanks for the reply and link.
I was looking for castor_windy support for Sony AOSP KitKat 4.4.x (or failing that, Lollipop 5.1.x) for now. I haven't even looked at Marshmallow yet and don't have time to do so for now so, still to determine if Marshmallow meets my needs...
Is there any kernel for Android 6.0.1 on Nexus 7 2012?
Yes, every 6.x ROM provides a kernel, too, or what are you looking for? If you are looking for sources, you might want to have a look at my Github.

I am looking for kernel that enables overclocking. I searched forum but there are only kernels for Lollipop, not Marshmallow.
Probably you would like to have a look on Daniel_hk's kernel for Omni ROM. If I got it right, he implemented some overclocking into it, but I did not test it.

So just flash OmniROM for 6.0.1? And the kernel is included? Or is there a separate file for kernel that must be flashed?
His Omni-build should include the OC-kernel directly.
Looking for a kernel on Nexus 7 2012 (3G) to fix baseband_XMM_power wakelock
@williamlaw: my kernel has the patch included. Most likely I'll upload a fastboot flashable zip today or tomorrow onto my Android 6 AOSP on Grouper thread.

Thanks for your work but i am using 3G version.
I am going through the build guide on the [AOSP][1] page and found a requirement called "device binaries"
Can anyone tell me how to get binaries for op2 to build a pure AOSP working ROM ?. I am a complete noob in this field so if I require anything device specific (op2) apart from those binaries please do enlighten me.
Also is it possible to get the binaries from lineage repository ?

Can you please elaborate why? Also how do lineage OS devs get those binaries or any other independent aosp developers?

You can get those binaries but you can't boot aosp at all on the op2 without a few commits from lineageos. We need a lot of hacks on op2 to even get Oreo to boot
Also those commits will obviously not work just by simply picking them and you'll have to adapt them for aosp. None of our HALs are ready for being built without the kernel source (aosp doesn't support inline kernel builds)
You can get the binaries from https://github.com/TheMuppets/proprietary_vendor_oneplus

Wow! a lot of information in a single comment. Is there a way I learn more about OP kernels, roms, hals so that I gain some information at least for a start. Any proper references ? or shall I start by building LOS For op2 without knowing anything and work my way through to the top. Your advice would be helpful in this. I plan to know more about ROMs and build them with customizations... major customizations. Thank you.

I'll tell you this. All of the guides you'll ever find are utter nonsense. You have to find your own way to do it and no guide can really help you. There really is no one size fits all guide

This is true from what I have seen till now. Guess I'll start building LOS directly as a start (as it is readily available for op2), tweak it little by little and keep learning bits and bytes from everywhere. Thanks
