Hi guys,
I have cyanogenmod on my S3 and only 1.8GB of free internal storage... and almost some MB used the I look inside
I think that's because cyanogen rom create a 0 folder and hide others files.
How can I acces to root internal storage and delete others files that "0" folder ?
My english on 10 ? :good:
Found!
it was exactly what I thought :fingers-crossed:
The real directory folder of the internal memory is /mount/shell/emulated

Hello everyone
First at all want thanks the valious information in this forum. For a newbie like me is superb.
Now I´m needing here some tips please.
I have a IDEOS S7 tablet rooted (with SuperOneClick), working in full with the SuperUser, I have root access through with Root Explorer.
I use Link2SD to change the apps from the internal memory to the internal SD card.
I have no partitions on internal SD (do not know how to do).
The question: When i install an application this one goes to the /data/app folder, but also some additional files of this application goes to the /data/data folder.
With Link2sd when I move an app to the SD internal card, only the file in data/app moves and the files/folders in the data/data remain´s there!
For example when I install an application with 11MB (adobe flash for example) and move it with the link2sd to the internal SD card never copies all the 11MB (only about 3MB are copied )..... I conclude that any app that I install, and moved to SDcard, I can never keep in the same internal memory free "measurement" of bytes!
Example, I have 136MB free before installing Adobe. After installation I get 125MB. I move the app to the internal SD and are moved only 3MB! The remaining (8MB) stay in the internal memory. So, i never stay again with the 136MB that I had before, but +- 128MB.
What is wrong? Can I move all files of an application or not? What am I doing wrong or is this just like that!!? Any suggestion please?
By the way how can I create a partition on the InternalSD card and what is the advantage of doing this?
Thank you for your attention
regards
pedro
Can close/delete this topic please, solved and done.
Thanks
pedro
So, it seems like I have doubles of everything after doing a restore with titanium backup. Is one folder safe to delete? Or should I merge them?
Seems like a giant waste to have to folders 13.31gbs in size with the same stuff.
Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, the 0 folder where your files are truly stored is located at data/media/0.
Other locations where you see the same files/folders are links to the actual data (symlinks). They are not really duplicates taking up double the space of what's already stored on your virtual sdcard.
For example, when you see the folders listed below, the files/folders within are not copies, but symlinks (shortcuts) to the actual files/folders located @ data/media/0
/storage/emulated/0
/storage/emulated/legacy
/storage/emulated/sdcard0
Deleting files/folders from within one of the link folders or the actual link folder itself can/will result in the deletion of the actual files/folders altogether.
Will someone else chime in to ensure that I am explaining this correctly?

You are correct sir
Thanks for the replies guys. So I should just leave things as they are?
My internal storage has had strange stats since I did the titanium backup restore:
Total Space:
32.00GB
Applications: 14.82GB
Pictures, videos: 740KB
Audio: 124KB
Downloads: 32.43MB
Cached Data: 104MB
Miscellaneous files: 31.55GB
Available Space: 340MB
I don't know how or why my miscellaneous files would be so large unless its the duplicates. Can these numbers be trusted?

Something definitely doesn't look right, and possibly went wrong during the restore with TB. What folder structure/paths are you seeing exactly?

Please pardon my ignorance, but I don't know how to answer that question. Or where I should start from.

The reason it says that because your running a Rom on a virtual slot and you can't access the rest of that space, that's why it says "miscellaneous". If you follow my guide in the general section you can install over sock so you have access to all of that space instead of a couple of gigabytes. But if your not on a virtual slot with those stats, just disregard what I said.

Thank Blefish first ,with your contribution to U8800 ,so we users can enjoy the Kitkat.
I have learned that Kitkat will forbid app create file/folder in ext-SD root directory, instead apps can only created their data in /Sdcad/Android.So my Sdcard directory will be tidy.
When I installed Blefish 0516 edition,I found the feature didn't work.
And I found in dir ./storage , ext-SD was mounted as Sdcard0 while the internal storage was mounted as Sdcard1.I think the irregular mounted sequence between ext-Sd and internal storage is the reason why the feature didn't work.
And I didn't found vold.fstab in ./system/etc , so I can't edit it to change the mount seq.
Dear Blefish guru,I am looking for your help~
Jellybean and forward use a different method now. They are not using vold.fstab anymore. Rather, /fstab.qcom is used (in our phone). It cannot be edited manually, a boot.img must be unpacked and repacked in order to do so.
Did you mention that apps can write to /sdcard/ but cannot write to /storage/sdcard0? This ROM does not enforce write permissions as KitKat does by default, so I am not quite sure.

Two days after installed 0516,many folders were created by apps in ext-SD root directory(./storage/sdcard0/),while only two folders were found in internal storage(./storage/sdcard1/).And it seems that the two folders were somthing like being created while using recovery or something like that, unlikely being created by apps.
Cause I am using another rom to find whether the seq between internal and ext-SD is normal, yet I found that in android 4.0.4 there is no ./storage,so I cannot know the seq between internal and ext-SD.

In my ROM external SD (/storage/sdcard0) is the primary storage. This means Android creates it's Pictures, Download, Music & other directories there automatically.
/storage/sdcard1 is just a storage, like USB OTG storage would be. It's not in use if sdcard0 is present (some apps can still write to it manually like Camera).
The /storage is another jb/kk feature. I did not go with the older direct mounting to /mnt/ because it's just deprecated. Mine is configured according to this (Nexus One with internal storage added manually): http://source.android.com/devices/tech/storage/config-example.html

Thanks for so detailed reply.
But I still don't understand how to enforce write permission. As a perfectionist , I really don't want to see so many folders created by third-party apps in my ext-SD.
If it is convenient for you, could you inform me the way to enable the write permission in your rom? :fingers-crossed:
Hii I have a problem. I have to run GTA SANANDREAS game on my SAMSUNG J5 2015 model. The problem is I have 8 GB internal of which only 4 GB is available for storage of the obb data. The obb file of that game is 4 GB. I have rooted my device and have 30GB of ext2 partition on my 64GB sdcard. I have even linked it using LINK2SD. For linking the obb data using LINK2SD it must first be in the internal. But I cannot do that. Is there any way in which I can link the game file and game data outside the obb folder? The directoryBind app is not working in my phone.

Yes I have rooted it. My link2sd plus is working fine with other apps. Hey I just now saw that when I linked my obb data file of a game to my ext2 partition, my original obb file is still in internal while a new obb file of same name has been created in my ext2 partition. I am very confused. If linking doesn't free up my internal memory then what does it does?

Hi there!
Try the Xposed module named Obb on SD: http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.smartmadsoft.xposed.obbonsd . I have used it in past and it worked fine.

I've got an s7 edge running 8.0.0
In file explorer my internal storage is shown as storage/emulated/0
What does this mean? Is it cause I don't have an sd card in the phone?
Thanks to anyone who can help

Internal storage goes by different symbolic name tag, it is storage/emulated/0 as emulated/virtual filesystem, not the actual one or /sdcard as a symlink or /data/media/storage as actual path to files.
Hi thanks for replying.... So in layman's terms, that means everything is normal and it's just another way of saying internal storage?
Exactly
