How to stop ota?

How do I stop the 4.2 ota? I been reading a lot of bad news about it and no support for stickmount app which I use a lot. I already checked with titanium backup but I can't find the right app to freeze in order to stop firmware updates. Anyone know how to do it?

trust me , im on 4.2 and i dont get any issues , its much better than 4.1.2 , follow my toturial and you will have a nice and clean 4.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1990258
I really don't want to wipe all my data and I want to keep it just stock. I mess around with my gs3 enough I want to leave my nexus 7 stock rooted. I use stickmount on a daily basis so I'm not going to 4.2 until it is compatible

i would like to know how to disable the notification as well.. tia..
Root your nexus and disable ota.
I recommend using wugs toolkit to root since it is so easy
And 'Gemini app manager' or 'Root app delete' ('disable' or 'block' ota, just dont 'uninstall'.
thx for the advice.. i was given another solution which i prefer a bit more..

I followed this guide. It took about 3 minutes and it works. To get updates back I assume just delete the apk from /system/app right/?

[Q] Best course of action, rooted w/stock rom, OTA nagging

My VZW G2 is rooted with the stock rom, no TWRP installed, some bloatware removed. I am receiving nagging notifications about the OTA update. I know a lot of people have had issues so I wanted to find out what the recommended course of action would be in my situation? Looking to make it as easy as possible as this is my first time rooting a phone. Thanks!

Please excuse my confusion, but which post on there refers to my issue? I did see the post about the FOTA folder. Is there something I should do with that? Thank you.
set automatic update check off, then delete this folders content and gone is the nagging.

Thank you for that explanation. What would be the best way to go about it if I wanted to install the update while retaining my root?

Wait until somebody posts a debloated root friendly version and flash away. Not sure if the update that's bugging people is 12b or if it's a different update.

So there is no way to use the OTA update even though I haven't flashed a custom ROM?

yes save the folder they are telling you to remove when a update comes out, if you want it then copy the folder back/set the permission rw/r/r and your good to go
How do set automatic update off? Or do I have to delete Or rename a certain file so this won't happen again. Thanks

Is there a safe way for me to just use the OTA update now?
if you have not changed recovery, and root only, just follow fellow people that have posted how to.
if you have custom recovery, there is a workaround that may or may not work for you.

Why don't you flash it and try it out? You can easily return to your previous setup.

Google Assistant question

Okay, So I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/guide-google-assistant-marshmallow-t3478450 and I couldn't get it to work. Can someone please patch it to arm64?
I'll do it in a bit.

Im having issues recompiling. After doing some research I've found that it cant be done on stock system like ours. The OP of that thread may not be rooted, but his modified system must allow for the installation of non-signed apps.
But is there ANY way to install it on my device?
Any one?
