Even though you have been using this rom since a long time, try flashing stock rom and see if that helps. If it doesn't, take it to the service center. My friend had the same problem and he had to get the motherboard changed (or ram don't remeber exactly)
Wipe data and cache and then see.If it didn't work try to change the kernel. If it still didn't work, flash stock rom via ODIN and then flash your Hyperion and restore your app data and cache from your Hyperion CWM backup.

ok so after rooting my shift i followed all the steps got the recovery on there and downloaded a ROM and wiped everything and when the rom flashed it said error 7 instalation aborted so i hit reboot system now just to see what would happen because i did wipe everything so i was expecting to be stuck at the boot img..no problem was just playing around but the thing actually booted in a rom that looks 100% stock....what happened
even tho the ROM looks 100% stock it is def not i have adfree and esfile explorer added to app drawer now if its gonna flash the rom anyways why does cw 2.5.1 tell me its a no go with a stauts 7 i have even formatted my card to wipe it 100% and the same thing happens>?
when you "wipe" you're not wiping the rom. The data, cache etc yes. Only a rom install overwrites a prior rom. unless you format the phone.

People that flashed the base steel posted had similiar issues. E.G. if you were on cm6 and wiped, then flashed the base, you'd boot into a fresh cm6. The partitions were setup wrong, I believe.

I just rooted for the first time yesterday so I'm fairly new to all this... is it common practice to wipe cahce/dalvik prior to flashing any ROM?
I've gone back and forth from the stock ROM to another custom Sense ROM without wiping and no issues. Is it only advised if something goes wrong? Also, is there an issue with just going into recovery and wiping cache when NOT flashing a new ROM (just rebooting to the same one I'm using)? Thanks for the help.

Its good practice to always wipe. You may get by without it a few flashes. But eventually you'll be haunted by force closes, boot loops, etc.
Personally when I flash a new rom after the data, cache and dalvik wipes I format my boot, system, data and cache partitions manually via the mounts menu.
From experience, to truly see changes in rom updates or properly enjoy an entirely different one, this eliminates most problems before they ever manifest.

Hello,
i have installed costum roms for an year now and never had any problem till now so i know what i was doing.
Installed new font and then rebooted - then i got boot loop .. have no idea how i got it but..
so i installed a new rom . wipe data- cache- dalvik - install new rom.
now after i rebooted it show me "google" name - i am able to go into recovery but it does not show boot animation and just black screen of death .
i believe the phone is dead - lol i am sorry and happy in the same time - will buy a new one Yay.
But i want to understand what did i done wrong so i will not do it again .
if you have any idea why i got it pls share with me or a way to undo it.
thank,
Daniel.
It's really not enough data from you to say what you did wrong
Also may be you did all ok but things happen
Have you wiped cache and dalvik after first stuck at boot? I would do it as a first cure.
I would do it also now.
Any more data what was your stock system, which system did you try to flash?
And a good but last recovery when nothing more helps is flashing of a proper sbf file

Quarx ROM was broken. and when i installed MIG i had the same issue .
i had to wait several hours and suddenly it worked.
So i have installed back MIG ROM - best rom ever.
and every thing working just fine.
just for some reason after you install new FONT and do a soft reboot you may get boot loop .
have no idea why and Yes i did Wipe Cache and Wipe Dalvik first and had no effect..
when i opened the camera app, the phone rebooted itself and now it is stuck on the bootanimation logo. This happened to me 3 times allready but it always goes back to normal. Anyone know what to do, i don't wanna factory reset it.
Tried restarting it with the power button, tried removing battery and i tried rebooting through phils CWM recovery and still always goes back to the bootanimation logo.
Plz help
I'm Using omega Rom V7 with the new adam kernel v1.3
Also my camera was fine with the stock kernel, i think the new adam kernel made my camera app worst.

If you don't want to do a full wipe don't even bother flashing it again.
The whole purpose of re-flashing is that you are having a problem with
the camera.
A clean install of Omega rom should clear it up.
But a dirty flash will make no difference at all.
Backup your apps using titanium backup or some other backup app so you don't loose your apps.
Good luck!

When i first flashed the omega rom, i did do a full wipe, worked fine until the camera app crashed for the 3rd time. I don't mind doing a full wipe, it's just i did some tinkering with my phone and i have to start again if i have to do a full wipe lol
Always do a full wipe when having problems.
I understand it can be time consuming, i have dirty flash many times and still had the same problems.
If the new flash doesnt work search the Rom thread, i read somewhere of a similar issue.
Hello,
I have flashed Omega rom in my galaxy s4, however sometimes when I restart my device im stuck in the logo boot up. So my solution is to wipe the /data in recovery mode and it will start again.
But i don't want to wipe it every time i boot my device.
What do you think is the problem here? and how can i fix it?

Try to wipe system, data, and cache again. Then reinstall the omega rom and see if that solves the problem.

i've done that 4 times already. and it is still not working..
last week, i flashed a rom and while flashing it the battery fell off because i removed the back cover while flashing it last week. maybe thats the problem why my data is not working properly?

That probably isn't the problem. I recommend you to download the stock firmware of your phone and install that using Odin. Then if it works you can root it again, install a recovery and try it all again.

I flashed that Rom the other day but ran into Reboot issues! So flashed this Rom instead!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327692&page=43
And working great! Only issue I have found is cant record video in 1080p Mode but 720p
works great! try this Rom!
Directions!
Put Rom and Gapps on your SD Card.
then reboot into Recovery Mode
Wipe data factory reset
Wipe cache and dalvik cache
Go to mounts/storage
format system
format data
format cache
Flash rom
Flash gapps
Wipe cache and dalvik cache again
Reboot and wait 10 mins
Then Enjoy!
Thanx for the answer the problem is I'm afraid to do it because it's going through Samsung Knox so afraid to brick already lost my warranty so don't care about that. Can you also show me how exactly to go about this. Like flash recovery and then what thanx again

you should be able to flash the kernel the same way you flashed your rom. as far as what one im not sure since i use the triforce 4.0 and it has a special launcher that lets me pick what kernel i want to use and it flashes with the rom. the reason you cannot post in the rom thread is because you have to have 10 posts to do so. im stuck in the same boat right now.
