Is that possible?
if so, can someone tell me what i must do to make this work.
What must i do with the hero and what do i do with my lapto?
plz help me!!
Dont think you can do this...
I dont know much about bluetooth, but I think the hero's bluetooth capabilities dont allow you to do this. Not yet anyway... something about the profiles / drivers. Cant remember the specifics.
Maybe someone can correct me
This thread says that you can do it with the custom MoDaCo rom...

with a rooted hero (http://theunlockr.com/2009/08/08/how-to-gain-root-access-on-your-htc-hero/) you can use this app (http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/) which will turn your phone into an internet hub that your laptop can connect to via bluetooth or wifi
So, i must install a diffrent rom to make this work with bluetooth?...
Hello. I've looked everywhere for this but couldn't find a solution. Currently I can only update my e-mail tab on touchflo via wi-fi. I was wondering if anyone knew a fix for enabling it to update via the data connection (3G/HSDPA). I'm running a 6.5.5 ROM, and I don't know if I recall correctly but I think that with the stock ROM I used to be able to do this. Maybe it's a registry that needs to be modified or maybe there's a cab that someone knows about. Any help will be appreciated
my guess is your rom messed up your settings........go to start-settings-connections-connections-advanced tab-select network-change bouth of those to your curent connections provider (orrange internet is mine)
Hi all, need a bit of assistance if you would...
I have recently bought a Vega, it is the stock 1.08 ROM which I have side-loaded Market etc onto... (had issues trying to flash custom ROM, but thats another story...)
My problem is when it comes to streaming audio via Bluetooth to my Samsung Home Theatre. The Vega discovers, pairs and connects successfully but only plays 2 seconds of music before disconnecting. I have tested the Home Theatre with my X10 and it works flawlessly so I know its not a problem with the equipment but the Vega.
Has anyone else encountered a similar problem and found a solution? Or could you point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance!
Paul
Alright... so I've been doing a bit more searching and found an app called "Bluetooth Fix Repair". Dunno if it will work or not, but I searched the Market for it - only the donate version appears when searching on the Vega - strange... Found it alright on my X10.
So, can anyone upload the apk so I can sideload it to the Vega - or tell me where to find the apk on my X10. I thought it was in /system/app but I'm either not 100% of the apk filename, or it's not there...
Here you go!
If you apply the fix from my rom add-on thread it will show in the market
Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931337
Good luck with it!
Any help you need with that app, feel free to bother me
Cheers,
Phk
Thanks for your replies guys. I tried the bluetooth fix app, and it did improve the connectivity slightly - music played for about 4 seconds, stopped, played again for another few seconds then disconnected totally... arrrgghh!
So... possibly an issue with the ROM? Might need to wait for an update from Advent. Disappointing as I was hoping to show off my tablet for an upcoming party, but starting to look like my X10 will have to run the show instead!
Thanks again - if you have any other ideas, please feel free to fire them at me! (And I'll apply your patch for the Market later on, o-gman, thanks for that)
Damn.... I wish I had a tablet!
If you ran my bluetooth fix repair app, and then repaired, and then lost connection indefinitely..... The problem is with your ROM.
I made that program when i was on 2.1 and 2.2.. Now i'm running 2.3.1 and I don't need my app anymore. Also, when my app fixes the problem, it's only a temporary "dirty hack", so the problem will manifest itself again.
Sorry for not being able to fix it, but the problem remains in the blued.apk and bluetooth stack apk. It should be easy to change your bluetooth stack version, but i just can't make a program that calculates a version for each rom.
You should try (with a deodexed rom) to replace all bluetooth files from an earlier or newer rom.
Good luck mate,
Phk

Thanks Phk - while I understand, essentially, what you mean by installing the Bluetooth stack from another ROM - going about it is another matter. Would that be a difficult procedure? Can I rip the Bluetooth files from my X10, for instance?
Hi,
Two important things:
1) You shouldn't do it. It's complicated!
2) I can't help you all the way because we're not on the same HW\ROM
It really depends on how the stock roms for that device are released.
In my example, i have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 and Samsung's ROM are VFAT isos packed into Samsung's RFS containers, which means i can change my rom completely and then reflash it.
The particular apk files you need to test are everything you can find with:
"find -name *blue*apk"
from your "/" dir.
Anyway, first things first: You need to find a ROM that has bluetooth working! Then you will rip that ROMs bluetooth stack apks..
Sorry for not being able to fully help.
Regards,
Artur

Says it all really! haha - I won't go messing about with the Bluetooth stack then, just in case I mess it up even more. Maybe the next update from Advent will cure my problem (whenever that may be...)
Thanks anyway guys!
I wanted to connect my Iconia A501 (running rooted Honeycomb 3.0.1) to my PS3, so I could use it as a Bluetooth keyboard (BlueputDroid). However, my tablet and my PS3 don't detect each other. I have read a couple similar threads (about different devices though), and apparently it's a matter of the ROM. That said, which ROM should I install to be able to connect the two devices? Any help would be appreciated.
I would guess you need any 3.2 ROM and probably an app to do the rest.
Thanks for the answer. I'll try it and let you know if it worked or not.
EDIT: I got it to work under HoneyVillain 1.2, now I can pair my tablet with my PS3 without a problem. Once again, thanks for the help!
So has anybody managed to get PPPOE working on his Find 5, it worked perfectly fine on my rooted HTC Wildfire with an app (PPPOEW), but it doesn't work on my Find 5, didn't work on the stock rom, nor omni rom. I am rooted but whenever i try to connect it just doesn't work. Tried 2-3 defferent PPPOEW versions, and some apps on the Play store. Nothing seems to do the job. Can anyone help me? :/
