On the given link i did not find it for india. It is there for moroco and others
can we flash this zip from samsum's stock recovery by selection update from external sd card. The Zip file included following files.....(screenshot attached).
I have read somewhere on sammobile you can flash with recovery, but i have practically never did it. and have no idea about it. You can flash it at own risk.
But you must be on stock ROM( I think only on full stock DDLR6). Other thing this update contains Kernel, and by that way putting device on unsafe kernel. and yes wiping will be dangerous too.
Edit : source

Wiping on stock kernel without CWM is apparently safe.
Wait for sammobile or CheckFus to upload the entire Rom. It's better to flash then lest one might get bricked following incorrect procedure.

It is probably safe (said by entropy). So i dont like to advice still.
and after flashing device may not boot properly then you have option to wipe is CWM only.
Otherwise have to follow routine procedure.

No one getting the update over the air officialy?
Mine is showing no update available as OTA!
I suggest wait for full ROM. Sometimes OTA upgrades do act erratically and cause problems.

Dr. ketan you are a genius. But I would like to follow your advise. I will wait for full ROM release by Sammobile.com
Yes you should wait. even sammobile also saying this
This section is specially for the die-hard Samsung owner.
The person who love to tweak with their device fully on their own RISK!
If you dont know what to do with these files, you probably shouldn't touch them.
Let those who knows do it insead.

other thing this upate having kernel (and may be without recovery, and so i guess if you have non stock recovery won't work any more), so it will leave you unrooted (i still doubt it work on rooted), and on unsafe kernel.
so there are full chances to mess device if you are just away from base ROM(DDLR6)
In sort, leave this for Flashing maniac only. and routine user should wait for regular update,.
will they release LR6 with update integrated ?
this update looks interesting .....
Quick question i got a i337 and have been flashing rom since i got this phone about 3 months. last time i flash a rom and everytime i plug my phone to the PC its read my phone as a M919 Tmobile device but everything work fine beside that. The only I see that could get affected is updating TWRP thru Goo Manager. TWRP will give the T-Mobile version instead of ATT.

You can manually download TWRP from their website and install it using the "dd" command in a root terminal or root adb shell. It's a bit more hands-on, but in the end you just run a command or two. Instructions are on TWRP's website, and are specific to each phone. WARNING: If you do end up flashing a recovery via this method, be 100% sure you selected the right phone on TWRP's website, and be 110% sure you get the partition number right at the end of the "dd" command. Flashing the recovery to the wrong eMMC partition could easily result in a hard brick. (basically, just follow instructions and you'll be fine).

Hey just got my edge today, looks like there is very little going on as it was just released a few days ago despite it being out in the states for quite some time, the only difference I believe is the LTE in the Canadian version.
Anyways, coming from the note 2, 3 and 4 and the trtlecan version always being close to the trtletmo I decided to risk it and flash the tmo cf auto root and recovery despite there being no stock firmware laying around on sammmobile the others..
annnd I'm happy to report that I now have a TWRP recovery, rooted, SM-N915W8.
go ahead and follow the very detail steps in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/general/easy-steps-stock-odin-n915tuvu1anjl-sm-t2943993
MAKE SURE TO READ THE PART ABOUT IT FAILING (to flash cwm) AND THAT BEING OK being flashing TWRP
and then the BRIGHTNESS SETTINGS inside recovery which will look like you have sleep lock if you don't fix them before letting the screen timeout
and have all 4 files on hand before you start!
Awesome, thanks for the info, I was debating it but just was being a chicken. I'm glad everything worked out. Did you make a nand? If so did you flash the nand just to make sure everything was OK? Are your root apps working without issues.? I don't mind taking the risk...just wanna be sure

Awesome glad it worked out for you too, now we can experiment with which kernel and os will boot without fear of bricking
Yes, I tried reflashing the backup and all is good.

Glad you guys are having luck with the Canadian model. I jumped the gun and imported one from Korea as soon as it was released and it's an awesome device!

Were you guys able to flash a custom ROM? Which ROMS will work with the Canadian version? And which US Model number is 'equivalent' to the Canadian one?

Anyone try any T-Moble stuff? I didnt look myself but I ask because we all used the tmoble stuff for our old Canadian Note3s ... could be the same senerio. I think that Tmoble kernels should work..
There might be a version of Hyperdrive for tmoble..

Dont worry about it, someone else who had this problem fixed it by formatting cache - did that and everything went fine.

Tried flashing Hyperdrive Edge for T-Mo with both twrp (2.8.1.1) and cwm (6.0.5.1 Xiaolu) referenced in the root guide by OP. They flashed without error but I got bootlooped both times. Luckily backup/restore works for both recoveries.
Does anyone know of a way to get back to stock recovery after flashing cwm or twrp? Any known location of a stock image?

Yeah I know about sammobile, flashing via Odin etc. There's no stock firmware uploaded for the Canadian variants yet so I was wondering of an alternate method to flash the stock recovery. I tried extracting the recovery from the stock image via ADB shell, converting to tar.md5, then flashing with Odin but it failed....likely because I'm rooted. Guess I'll have to wait until the firmware gets uploaded. Thanks anyway.
Try contacting the sammobile team...and their forum..they maybe able to help..

This is my port of TWRP recovery for the Sprint and Cellular South snapdragon version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5.
I don't own this device nor does it have a device tree, so has took a fair bit of doing and many hours to get this working.
Didn't seem fair for the Sprint owners to be left out of the development scene, so made this for them and to give something back to the community.
Thanks to jono1767 for his fearless testing, pinky059 and DUHAsianSKILLZ for providing me with needed files and support. Oh and the missus for putting up with me spending hours on the PC.

ODIN 3.10.6

Can't thank you enough for all the hard work and effort you put in to a device you don't even own. I've had this tablet since September and have been waiting patiently for someone to put together a root and recovery for this awesome device. I know for a fact that 6 or 7 months ago a lot of people were *****ing about not having root for the tab s from Sprint. I'm glad I hung around XDA and kept following any progress whatsoever with the device.
many thanks to you and all the testers that made this all possible. I for one am very grateful

What do you mean twrp icon? Twrp isn't an app so it doesn't have an icon.
If you are referring to the app called twrp manager, that is a separate app, not officially related to twrp recovery.
thanks for everything

Dear guys,
I had updated my kitkat 4.4.2 to lollipop 5.0 but I faced to major problems which are:
1. My screen shoot (Screen write) function works for maybe 3 or 4 times only and then nothing happens when I get out my pen and press it, so I have to restart the device to make it work for more 3 or 4 times!!!
2. I cannot find a good way to root after upgard it to lollipop. :crying: :crying:

Make sure you have done a clean installation of the ROM. By clean installation I mean make a full wipe, from TWRP (a custom recovery), go to Advanced Wipe and select everything except your external SD, in case you have one installed. Then flash the latest Lollipop ROM via Odin. The latest stable LP ROM I found to be OF3, so get that from sammobile.com.
And root can't be more easy. When you are done flashing the stock ROM via Odin just place this zip on your phone, https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip, reboot to recovery, which will be TWRP (and after flashing the stock ROM you will have to reflash TWRP, cause flashing stock ROM always installs the stock recovery), and just install the zip from there, done.
