Hi. Everything I have searched for is about keeping the home button from waking up the phone. I want to totally disable it after it boots as I prefer the navbar.
Any way I can do this?
I want a navbar... I hate the physical home button

I have not tried this and I can not guarantee it will not turn your phone into an ax murderer which will then kill 1000 orphaned nuns. It could also brick your phone, but the poster of this threads said it is verified to work...try it at YOUR OWN RISK! AT YOUR OWN RISK!

This option works great if you're rooted.
I've done it a dozen times dating back to my S3.
But now I just use Xposed mod + Gravity Box.
Or if you have AOSP, then Slim Beam ROM has the option built in.

Thank you; however that hack is only to disable the home key from waking up the phone when the screen is off. I have already done this and it works.
Like I said, looking for a way to just disable the home key in every way. I want it to simply do nothing at all times.

I"m on Google Edition 4.3 Kangabean.
Xposed has been absolutely rock solid for me, as well as this ROM.
Went two weeks without flashing anything else and never had a single crash.
It wasn't till I started messing around with Tasker that I started having other types of issues.
But I run all of the modules you see in the attached pic, without any problems. Actually, there are three additional Xposed modules I'm also running that you don't see, because they're more of system type modules and not actual apps.
Gravity Box is my fave for options and XThemeEngine is my fave to run CyanogenMOD themes.
Installed Gravity Box, enabled the navbar, and it's running great! How do I disable the on screen navbar while the screen is locked, though?

Hey Guys, The stock sms app stinks, "new messages" gets annoying.
Textra seems great, however when I hit the "+" button to get to mms-emoji,etc..
it just turns green and the keyboard pops up. nothing else.
Anyone running into this?
I haven't been able to get Textra to work properly. I use 8sms now and am really happy with it.

You can also recreate the behavior by adding Textra to your pen window as well, ..
Spoke to the Dev - He is blacklisting Textra and we should be good to go.
he said he had to do the same with s-health as well.
Ok so once that happens, we'll be able to re-enable MW Apps Manager and Textra just won't work with it anymore?
It sounds like it was the MW Apps Manager dev that you contacted, right?
There was an update for Textra tonight and one of the fixes was for MMS on the Note 3. I thought it might solve our problem, but no luck. So I emailed the Textra dev. I doubt anything will come of that, but maybe...
Btw, I don't know if you noticed, but it is still possible to attach stuff to texts through the share option of other apps.

Also read the part where as a RULE of this site you are supposed to search first, and generally to not expect to be spoon-fed.
Calm down lads. There's no need to be rude.
A suggestion for next time, perhaps name it "How to remove reccomended apps for headphones". It's a little clearer.
Now, if you're still on 4.3, you can use a non-stock launcher to create a shortcut, then find under activities --> settings --> Page Buddy. Then you can open that shortcut to turn it off. It doesn't work on 4.4.2 anymore, it just shows "Settings has stopped".
Short of rooting, I've not found an alternative. I hate the thing as well.
Easy:
Go into settings, open application manager and disable pagebuddyNotisvc
Hi, I recently rooted my Note 3. I used to have any iPhone 5 that I jailbreak that had a good app that could hide (minimise) certain settings in the settings menu that you don't need. Is there any app out there for this. I have searched google and the app store to no avail.
This would be really helpful if one exists and I would be very grateful if someone could let me know, I really want to hide easy mode etc...

If you were a developper, maybe (I'm not too sure...) you should do some changes in the "sec.Settings.apk" and associates.
In fact, many custom Rom's have a "developper section ". But this is to ADD features, not to hide it...
AOSP/AOKP Rom's seem to bemore flexible about this. Get a look to that world. But, then, forgot TW world.

I'm noticing that in most applications when I bring up the Google keyboard, it covers up at least half of the typing area and also any send button that maybe in the application but not on the keyboard itself. Does anybody know how I may be able to fix this? I'm finding typing in this ROM very difficult. Mistakes are coming up that I swear have never happened in any other rom work keyboard I've used. Is this possibly a scaling issue? Thanks for any help someone may be able to offer.

I had to double check some stuff and what i found seemed to confirm what I have read around here. I dont have the Sprint variant but there are quite a few people that seem to have your same problem on the ls980 after leaving stock. From what i gather the most used method is to flash all the way back to stock and get a gps lock. copy your gps.conf file to your pc and then copy that over after you flash your custom rom.
It doesnt seem to be a guarantee a fix either but has worked for some people.

Mixed Answer. Most AOSP roms *unless drastically changed* will have terrible scaling on devices with our screen. its because at 480 dpi everything gets stretched out and thats why some menus and items will seem out of place on install. Now some keyboards are better than others. i find the recent google keyboard *not in the playstore* works great but I also scale my device to either 440 dpi or 420 dpi and that seems to be a perfect fit.

this was changed i realized but...On DSB and other newer features coming down to LS Rev3nt3ch doesnt really have much say in if these features get added. He is simply building what the LS devs add and then push those for our device. To put it simply...any new 'features' will have to be added by the LS devs first..

This may not cover all and bacon, which I use, is fairly new. I think bacon is somewhat of a hybrid of ondemand and the intellidemand. It appears to ramp up fairly quickly and back down while not going all the way to max CPU if not needed...this is a plus for battery life

Hello everybody,
*the undermentioned methods and app(s) require root*
So, you are here because:
1) You don't like your device doing stuff you didn't make it do.
2) You want to minimize wakelocks
3) You just saw the two before mentioned wakelocks and already decided you want to get rid of them.
For this, you will need to download My Android Tools
Disclaimer: Disabling some services/receivers may "crash" the app. I found it is normal, just go back to where you were and check if you managed to disable the thing you wanted, if yes, then it was successful.
Huge thanks to MeggaMortY for the method
1. Open the app
2. Click on the top left to open the panel, click on Broadcast Receiver.
3. On the menu that opens go to the right column named System. Click search on the top right, type "Play" and choose the Google Play Services option.
4. In the search bar there type at least "ana" and disable the two found results with the names "AnalyticsReceiver" and "AnalyticsSamplerReceiver"
5. Hit x and search again for at least "meas". You will see three results with the names "AppMeasurementInstallReferrerReceiver", "AppMeasurementReceiver" and "PackageMeasurementReceiver*". Disable all three.
6. Go to services->system->Google Play Services->search "meas"->disable "AppMeasurementService" , "MeasurementBrokerService and
"PackageMeasurementService".
7. "Campaign Tracking" . I only found it in the same System menu, in Android Pay, by searching at least "cam" you get the result "CampaignTrackingReceiver". Disable it if you feel you want to. I don't use Android Pay and cannot say if it breaks something there, but otherwise have it disabled and haven't noticed any problems so far.
8. Search for Google Play Store in System. In that option, search for at least "app" and disable "AppMeasurementReceiver". Hit x and search for "fir", then disable the two results with names "FirebaseInstanceIdInternalReceiver" and "FirebaseInstanceIdReceiver"
8. Done. All the setttings are now global for any sort of app measurements, as far as I know.
The second approach will get rid of the "net_scheduler" wakelock. Thanks to denon480 for this method
1. Open the app
2. Click on the top left corner to open the menu panel.
3. Click on Broadcast Receiver
4. Navigate to the System pane
5. Click on search on the top right. Search for Google Play Services. Click on them when they show up
6. In the search top right, write at least "sche" and you will see the two receivers responsible for the "net_scheduler wakelock, "SchedulerInternalReceiver" and "SchedulerReceiver".
7. Switch the first one off. The app will quit, don't worry.
8. Go back to where you were (steps 1 to 6) . You will see that you indeed managed to switch that receiver off.
9. Switch the second one off. The app will quit, again no worries.
10. Check if you managed to switch the second one as well. After that you're done!
So now you should definitely see less wakelocks and idle battery drain. I know there is nothing fancy in these methods but just thought of sharing this with you all
