4.4 Kitkat Bluetooth Keyboard Issues - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, I recently applied the 4.4 factory image to my Nexus 10 and brought it completely back to stock. This was in hopes of being able to use my bluetooth keyboard again, but it did not work. I have a Apple bluetooth keyboard that I used when I bought my N10, but when I upgraded it to 4.3 it would no longer work. When 4.4 came along, I updated in hopes of a fix, but it still does not work. While the keyboard does connect, there is no input and it is not recongnized, yet when I do this on my Galaxy Nexus with 4.4 it works flawlessly. If anyone knows how to fix this issue, help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm experiencing this issue also. I've tried the 'temporary' fix where you rename the file (requires root access) to no avail.
Anyone also experiencing this issue? Any ideas?

Same issue here, nexus 10 and apple bluetooth keyboard. I have no ideas about what to do. The temporary fix does not work because the file we should rename is not there. How de we know which kl file is being loaded when we connect the keyboard? is there any log file where we can check it?

Hi, it is unfortunate as Google has yet fix this issue. However, if you don't mind custom rom, CM is the best choice as it fixed the problem. I'm using it now

I guess this problem has been solved. You guys should have received an update And Your keyboards should be working by now

Are you sure? I've updated my N10 to KRT16S but the Apple wireless keyboard still doesn't work (connected but no keystrokes are effective). Any ideas?

I've used cyanogen in the past on my phone, but have tried to keep stock on my tablet as some of my movie streaming apps don't work on a rooted device. I haven't had much luck with the hid root type apps either unfortunately.

are you referring to the 4.4 update zangetxu? did you experience a similar issue with a bt keyboard that updating your n10 to 4.4 resolved?

installed 4.4.1 and i am still seeing this problem....
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Just received 4.4.2 today - still not pairing. I've resorted to using a usb dongle and a usb wireless keyboard. OY!

I have the same issue. Can pair and accepts the pairing keycode from keyboard to pair but no keystrokes. Tried looking for the file to rename from 4.3 no longer the same name.

Does that mean that the wiimote should work now?
Can't answer that one, I have only tested with a BT keyboard with mouse built in and both work like champs
Strange I got my update notification, hit install now and nothing, now it has not given me any more update notifications. Still on DJ11, is there a manual download an update option?
--thanks, mike
Same thing happened to me. Another post on here has a link to the update file but it only works with IE as far as I can tell (the link opens in Chrome instead of downloading)
I have rooted and done the one click lag fix on my Tab, should I undo all of that before I do this update? I already assume I would have to re-root my Tab after the update...
Anybody have a link to a download for those of us who cancelled our 3g?
Root seems to stay with the update as it does not seem to update the kernel (same version number at least)
There is another thread here with a dropbox link to the update, it only seems to work with IE though

WifiKill not grabbing anyone

Hi, I just need some input about the WifiKill app. I have used this before a lot of times with my other devices but on my stock(obviously rooted) Note 3, I can't seem to see anyone when I scan. I made sure my other device was connected and then scanned for it but nothing. No devices found. Is anyone else experiencing this?
If so, do you have any solution for it? Thanks!

Mine works on 4.4.2 X-Note.
Did you download the latest version from the XDA thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1282900
You have to download the Wifikill Downloader and it will verify your purchase there.

It didn't work on my stock rooted firmware before NF4. I flashed NF4 and JackAway ROM and now it works. Lol. Thanks for the replies anyway.

[Q] Air gesture problem

Hey Guys,
I'm an owner of a Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 rooted, my problem is that air gesture and air view (using hand) stop working after some time of usage, and then I should reboot to make them work again, really strange, I used the command *0*# to see if the sensor is working and it was working.
Anyone has any idea to fix it?
Thanks

Are you using the stock firmware?
It may be due to software issue.

I'm not sure if some apps may interfere with the system service. That may cause the problem.
You can try one of the following:
- Uninstall some apps that you have installed recently, or that you suspect.
- Factory reset.
- Update to the newer firmware for your device.

I think it's a root app that is causing this but I have so many and I can't uninstall them because I won't be able to know which app is behind this + it takes many hours for air gesture to stop working so I guess I'll have to wait for the 4.4.4 update and see if anything would change.

[Q] Wifi - Turning it on became soooo slow

Hi everyone,
Since my GT-I9505 got the Lollipop update a few months ago, turning on the wifi is taking around 50 seconds. Connection works normally but turning on the device itself is a really slow process.
I was hoping that the latest OTA update would fix this little issue but nothing changed.
I did some research but couldn't find anything to solve it, even though I found some people who's got the same problem.
Can anyone help me?
I'm running stock rom, version I9505VJUHOF2.
Thanks in advance!

Oral B Bluetooth Issues

I just bought one of the Oral B 8000 toothbrushes and apparently there is an issue in Android 7.0 which won't allow the toothbrush to pair over bluetooth with the phone app. I was curious if anyone else had come across this issue and gotten it resolved. The issue is known to Oral B but right now the only fix is to upgrade to Android 7.1 and I would like to stay on stock firmware because it's nice and stable. I am rooted and bootloader unlocked so if absolutely necessary I can change roms but I was hoping someone might know of a fix. Was also curious if the latest phone update might have fixed it even though it didn't change the Android version number.

it syncs with bluetooth and your phone camera to see what stops you are missing and over brushing. even without all that functionality and just as a dumb toothbrush it really is worth it
Same problem with LG G5 with 7.0. Did you find any solution?
Oral-B not starting on rooted devices
Hi,
Has anyone managed to use the Oral-B app on a rooted android? I am on Oreo with Xposed, and despite adding the app to Rootcloak config, it will detect the root.
I've read on the app comments that uninstalling supersu makes the app work, so it may be that Rootcloak default config is missing some keywords/commands?

Yes, it's working for me now. I have actually two solutions.
- I moved from superSU to Magisk. I still don't pass SafetyNet as I'm using gravity box. Now I'm with Oral-B app 6.0.1 and it starts and works correctly.
- at some point, while still with superSU, I downgraded the app with an apk of a previous version found online. The v5.2.3 doesn't seem to have SafetyNet implemented and it has the same features anyway. Remember to disable "auto update" in Google play to remain on that version.
