Hello,
I recently got my 32GB Black Galaxy Note 3. Today I read about a new MJ7 firmware and I was really curious why I didn't get it yet. While checking the firmwares for my region on SamFirmware I saw that MJ7 is available. Then I went on "About device" to see what firmware is installed on my device.
Baseband version : N9005XXUDMJ4
Build number : JSS15J.N9005XXUDMJ5
I checked a lot of regions on SamFirmware and no one have this firmware. I also searched on Google but no results. What region do this firmware belong to? Do any of you have the same firmware?
I'm thinking that if I ever need to reinstall it I will never find it again.
Thank you.
Put in *#1234# in the dialer app and list the three strings that come out. That'll give us a bit more to work from.
Galaxy note 3 not updating
I have read on the internet that Samsung have sent an OTA update for the Galaxy note 3 build number UBMJ3.
I would like to know why, 3 weeks later, I am still not getting this update. I am in the UK.
Please help me with this, as I am starting to wonder whether my phone is faulty and is therefore unable to receive updates. Your help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Update : Here's what I'm getting in Kies. My biggest fear, which stops me from flashing a MJ7 firmware is that if something goes wrong with the new firmware, I won't find the stock one, the one that I'm using right now.

I understand but why this stock firmware doesn't appear in the SamFirmware list? It's just like it doesn't officially exists.

Does this mean I should consider returning the phone to the seller? I am in the Uk. i don't see why they would have sold to me a phone with an Asian version of the firmware. If I try to change this myself, I would loose the warranty.
please advise if I am missing something, or may be having an asian firmware is actually better.
Please help on this.
Thanks in advance.

Asian FW is not better.
I dont know if a seller HAS TO provide a phone from your region...
I also dont know if you can change csc form one multiregion to another without wipe/loose warranty...
If you are brave, download latest BTU firmware and flash it, do a good backup, as it will likely wipe your phone but i dont think it will trip knox

Hi, VFG is a multi-CSC firmware, it contains many CSC's e.g: PRO, MTL, CYV, VDC, VD2 etc...
To know exactly what is your CSC to get the correct official firmware, use Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app (I have mentioned in the post above).

Hi,
I just saw there was a new update for my phone and the network (SUN) I was locked in.
This is the new FW on sammobile site
Country: Philippines (Sun)
Version: Android 4.2.2
Changelist: 1341826
Build date: Fri, 23 Aug 2013 11:52:51 +0000
Product Code: XTC
PDA: I9082XXUBMHB
CSC: I9082OLBBMH7
MODEM: I9082DXUBMH1
My worry is:
1. Is it safe that I can update it via KIES, if the KIES allows me, or any possible method.
2. Will it not brick my phone?
3. Do you have any guide on how to update it, not via OTA.
Right now I'm still on the stock FW (Build number: JZO54K.I9082XXAMAC) and I've downloaded already the new updates on my PC.
Thanks in adavance....
Plz check it

You will only get OTA or Kies update if your stock Firmware and CSC have updates available and your phone not rooted. Custom roms don't get OTA updates. Also even if your firmware are stock but the CSC don't match you will not get updates.

Example if the FW 4.2.2 has a CSC of I9082OLBBMH7, my current CSC should be the same or I9082OLBBMH7 too in order I could get the updates?
How do I know my current CSC?

CSC is your region code. Connect grand to pc and open samsung kies. Kies should display your csc like "firmware number(CSC)" under basic information. In case you are from India so either you have INS or INU for your CSC.

Yes, if you download the latest BTU firmware from Sammobile you should be able to flash it straight over with Odin as the BTU version is a later version that the Three UK one. However you may have to root it to change the CSC. Incorrect CSC = No OTA or Kies Updates.

Samsung don't deal with customers in the UK, we go through our retailers. However they have to fix it by law.

Even if they do that, soon as you throw the legal side down at them they sh1t it.
Phone4u are notorious for trying to get out of things. But the truth of the mater is they actually don't have a clue.

Ok, so Im downloading the .zip from sammobile now. Whats the procedure once its downloaded?
Pop it into Odin and flash?
what parts do i need to flash from odin? As in bootloader, pda etc...
And if somone can confirm that this keeps Knox at 0x0, that'd be great.

Is it possible to flash official stock firmware for Note 3 from region other than the original region of the phone? For example I have Note 3, N9005 from middle east (which has 4.3), can I flash a stock rom from a region for which 4.4.2 is available? Will this brick the phone? Will the phone be locked for that specific region in case flashing is successful? Any other problems? Did anyone did this before?

Hi all,
I have a GT-I9505 phone. I am in Canada on the Rogers network. I had an issue with their OTA update for 4.4.2 a week ago and was forced to use Odin to put a UK BTU 4.3 firmware onto the phone.
The GT-I9505, to my knowledge, is a UK phone (I actually called Samsung and they told me that model is a UK phone).
So my question is will I receive OTA updates through the Canadian network (Rogers) for the UK BTU firmware that I put on my phone.
The phone is unlocked.
Thanks.
You will receive UK OTA updates if u flashed BTU firmware and ur phone goes OK :highfive:
*EDIT: For confirm it you can:
1. Conect it to Kies 3 and take a look your CSC (Code region). CSC are this 3 letters btw parenthesis. You have all codes HERE
2. If u doesnt root and nothing, u will receive the updates of this CSC. Hi5

So the Canadian network will allow me to download/install OTA BTU firmware even if I'm in Canada? And what do you mean "goes OK"?

I have (AUT) which is Switzerland. Based on SamMobile, Switzerland has 4.4.2 out already.
So what does this mean? Will I get OTA updates (through the updates settings on my phone) for Android firmware?
I'm still on 4.3 and my Canadian network that I'm on (Rogers) pushed out 4.4.2 last week. I'm not getting any updates...
Please advise. Thanks!

That's weird though because I bought my phone online, its international and I know there is no GT-i9505 model in Canada. And I was getting OTA through that. So clearly whatever stock firmware I had at the time (which I don't know what it was) was receiving OTA updates.
Any thoughts?

No I don't have that. I just know my phone is Brazilian. Out of the box it worked fine here in Canada on the Rogers network. Got 4.3 and it was fine. Perhaps 4.4.2, put out by Rogers, realized I wasn't the right model or not using a carrier-specific phone?
I'm just not sure anymore. I got the UK BTU 4.3 firmware from Sam mobile but Kies 3 says I am AUT (Switzerland). And I am still unable to get the 4.4.2 update through KIES or OTA.

No it is not rooted. Antutu says no root access and I don't even know how to root (I'm a noob). Also, my device status is official.
I am so confused. I just want to get back the normal OTA update ability and get 4.4.2. I do not want to manually update the firmware every time.
Please help...
I think you should flash a 4.4.2 rom let it be aut

thanks (I cant thank you, I reached my limit lol)
By the way I was looking at my baseband version (modem) and see that its XXUENAA. Sam mobile does not show that for the Switzerland firmware (AUT).
I wonder what that means?

Ya I think I had AUT before hand and now I switched to BTU and it won't do OTA.
So I'll flash an AUT 4.3 onto my phone and see if it wants to do an OTA 4.4.2 update. Thanks
hey guys

baseband :N9005DTMENA2
pda :N9005XXUENA2

I just reflash the firmware and it is there.
But u can just flash csc shld be no problem.
If u want to upgrade to latest firmware just get it from samfirmware.com nd flash through odin pc.

you can just try to reflash the firmware again.
Note 3 is still confusing me in a way. Certain way is working for some ppl, but not to others.
you have to bear in mind, flashing stock official rom from odin, won't brick your phone.
If possible, once ROM is completed (flashing is done), try to go into recovery (stock recovery which come with the official firmware), and do a full wipe/factory reset and wipe cache.
This full wipe seems to be the best way to avoid any error/problem.
So can you post your download mode snapshot to verify both applied CSC and knox warranty
for my seek
I've been told that flashing another Region firmware or changing CSC Could Trigger Knox Warranty please verify That By screenshot mention your old ROM Build Number Thank you
