[Q] Apps screens - folders with Apps icons are emptied on reboot - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey All,
we got 2 Note 3 (9005) at home - both are rooted with Vega method on stock MJ3 + wanam xposed
I've noticed that in the "Application Panel" (don't know the suitable name in english), when creating a folder to place the apps icons in it (one folder for all the rooted stuff for example), this is fine until next reboot.
Next reboot, is emptying the folders... so all "moved" icons are back with all the other applications. The folders remain but they are empty.
Anyone has this behavior as well ?
Note that this does not occur for Home screens... strangely, desktops folders remain with their shortcuts in them.
wondering if this is coming from MJ3
Cheers

it's because of bad rooting

what do you mean with "bad rooting" ?
Everything went fine when I rooted the device

Help! My Locations app has disappeared!

Hi guys,
I just recently bought a HTC Desire HD and have been enjoying it very much.... I have rooted and S-off, but have yet to install recovery clockwork ....
That aside, yesterday I started moving some stock app files to a folder on the sd card (so I can remove it from my phone, plus back it up just in case) with root explorer (r/w mounted), I didn't move the HtcLocationService.apk. All went ok...
But just this morning I noticed my locations icon on my phone's interface has turned into the green android image...meaning the program is gone! It cannot be found in my programs at all.
I have tried to do the "reinstall locations" in the settings, but it says "unable to find an activity to handle this action", and I've tried to go straight to the HtcLocationService.apk to install it (not even sure if it is the right application) and it says "application not installed".
I am really stumped, and would like Locations back on my DHD!!
Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks in advance
What stock apps did you uninstall? Some apps are bound to eachother. Locations is probably bound to navigation or footprints or maybe another app. So if you uninstalled that, that could be the cause.
If it's really gone, then probably the only way to reinstall it is installing the stock ROM again (or a custom one). You probably can't install it again because locations needs some other stock app (if my hypothesis are right).
I took out stuff like friendstream, Plurk, Twitter, FieldTest, Flickr, HTC_IME, EasyCard, Laputa, KKBOX, plus phone provider apps (since I'm with TaiwanMobile, myfone) so TWM_City/Market/Movie/Music etc....
I've since moved the files back into system>apps, but it hasn't changed anything....is there any possibility I could get Locations back???
I can't think of an idea to reinstall Locations that easy. You can just install the official ROM again. You don't even have to be rooted then.
Have a look at this thread. If you deleted .apk files of the 2 lowest lists, then you could try to reinstall them first. Otherwise I don't know. maybe someone else.
I would have reinstalled the official ROM again. Just to make sure everything works correctly again. (and then start over removing apps :') ).
But maybe someone else knows a better solution
Thanks for you quick reply!
Can you point me to a thread that would explain the process of installing an official rom (where i would download the rom, etc)? Plus is there a way I can back up all my games, apps and settings, so I don't have to reinstall every app and game again?
would a Factory reset help? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm hoping I get this resolved
First of all: I found this thead for installing system .apk's. Maybe that can help. But it seems pretty comlicated .

A factory reset should restore everything, (ofcourse I was tthinking to complicated :') ).
All apps you installed from the market will be reinstalled if you login with you google account again. It can take a while. It also remembers wich apps you bought. It won't however save any data (like saves for games).
For other apps (and all apps if you want to backup the data), you could download titanium backup (also available in the market). Keep in mind though that for restoring any backups made with this app, you need root acces again.
The facotry reset will remove your personal data. Only your sdcard and simcard will keep their info.
I hope all is clear what I told . So no ROM download needed. :')
Let us know if it has worked
Hey again,
I just factory reset my phone, using settings. Locations has not been restored , also some gadgets was not working (may be the widgets I have removed before). The front page weather animation is gone! Only the time left...(how would I get that back?)
Any other suggestions will be appreciated!
go to locations in settings... u will find a tab "reinstall locaton" make sure u r on wifi...and it will install it back...it happnd with me and got it back instantly

[Q] Organize apps in folders in "apps list"

Hello,
I9505 here with Samsung rom 4.2.2
I have downloaded several apps now and the all apps list is a mess.
I can't believe I can't organize them in folders. How to do it?

C-Rom 4.4.4 v7.1 I9300 issue

I'm having a issue with creating folders !!!
I installed c-rom 4.4.4 v7.1... all went well...
After installing some navigation apps and social media apps I have put those
on the homescreen in folders. When i made a games folder with some games in it (deuhhh)
the folder stays on the homescreen, but after rebooting the phone that games folder is just gone.
The games are still in the apps section but the folder on the homescreen is gone.
It happens every time after rebooting the phone. The nav and social media folder remain on the homescreen.
Weird euh ???

[Q] Lollypop and Touch wiz

Hi Guys,
Can't find anything specific about this, so if it is about somewhere apologies.
I have a Galaxy Note 3 all in full working order. That was until I installed from 4.4.2 to Lollypop 5. Since then the TouchWiz has stopped working. I noticed this when I tried to move some recently installed apps (installed before the OS upgrade) in to folders that were already created. When I hold the app to slide it into the appropriate folder I get
"Unfortunately, TouchWiz Home has stopped".
Has anyone else had the same problem and does anyone know of a working solution as I have not found one yet that works. Without it any new downloads will simply sit on more and more pages instead of in the correct folder for it's function.
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks in Advance

Make a factory reset and install that apps manually again.

Workspace Folder gone after Pie update

Hi guys,
Since updating to Pie, I've noticed the Workspace folder (believe it's Knox) has disappeared, stopping me from accessing apps that are in my Work Profile (specified by company MDM).
If I revert back to Touch Wiz launcher, I can see the apps by switching to "Work" at the bottom of the app launcher, however when using other launchers, the Workspace folder is missing.
Does anyone have any methods of bringing the folder back?
Thanks for reading!
Same issue with my Note 8. Haven't found a way to bring back the dedicated folder that was present in Oreo, so I ended up creating my own folder and putting my work apps in there. As long as "Use One Lock" is enabled in your Work settings, you shouldn't have an issue accessing your apps. FYI I use Nova Launcher.
