Hello everyone,
I wanted to know if there is a way to prevent the phone from getting disconnected when the USB Cable is unplugged. What I mean is that as soon as I unplug my phone, the Internet Sharing thing on the phone gets 'disconnected' in a way that if I have to reconnect, I'll have to hit the 'connect' button on it. I want it to remain connected, so that as soon as I replug the USB, it automatically connects the internet.
Is there a way to do this? Kindly help me. At times my PC gets restarted, I want the phone to remain in the Internet Sharing mode so that as soon as its restarted, it keeps itself connected to the internet.
Was working fine an hour ago, now connecting to my PC in any mode (active sync, disk drive) doesnt work. Phone pops up choose mode screen put PC doesnt even make the sound to signal its connected.
Any ideas?

I've found this to happen a couple of times on mine. Stopping and restarting Mobile Device Center on the PC (Windows 7 Ultimate) doesn't fix it and neither does stopping ActiveSynce on the phone. At the moment the workaround is to reboot the phone
I'm running Windows 7 and had to re-install or install a newer version of device sync to get mine working
I have a sync problem bewteen my hd2 and window mobile device center.
It was working now it isnt.
The phone charges from the pc
You can access it if you put it in disc drive mode, but under my computer you dont get the picture of the phone just a file.
when i put it on sync, it will not come up in my computer and it will not connect on windows mobile device center it just wont see it.
Please help, I guess its a phone setting not a computer on as i does the same thing on my laptop, both run windows 7
Hi All,
Can anyone help me in getting the issue resolved that I am facing.
Few days back all of a sudden my PC stopped detecting my Phone (Samsung Vibrant). I thought it might be an issue with my PC so I tried to connect the phone storage on some other PC, but the result are still the same.
I am also not getting any pop up notification on my phone to "Mount".
I can download anything to my phone via direct internet browsing but cannot transfer or upgrade my phone via my PC.
I checked all the setting and also restored my phone to Factory Default but still the issue persist.
Pleeeeeease guys can someone pleeeeease help!!!!!!!
Sorry to say this, but seems like a hardware problem. Did you tried with a different cable? Try Different port on the PC? What happens if you plug the phone to a wall charger?
Is the phone still on warranty? You can send it back to Tmo and get a "new" one.
Try a new cable.

Yes I tried different cable and also tried different port of PC but nothing happens. Also the other functions works as normal.
The phone charges when I connect to my wallcharger or PC. I often get a messag from my PC that the harware is detected but is not properly installed.
Any clues, also I cannot send it to TMO because I am not in states right now and TMO does not works here.
will flashing the ROM work?????
This has happened to me before. What usually works is to reboot the computer and then connect your phone to it. Wait for the connection error message. Then go into ur device manager and find the "unknown" USB device. Make sure u both uninstall and delete the "unknown" device. Unplug the phone. Reboot the computer again. And once its finished booting up plug connect your phone again.
Always works for me.

i managed to setup usb tethering on my desktop.
but one problem remains.
when first set up it works good.
but then after some inactivity time the connection gets lost.
like typing a long(5-10) minute responce on the forums usuallydoesnt go through... kinda frustrating.
and then after i unplug the phone the internet connection doesnt work anymore.
it shows tethering plugged in on the phone.
the network connection shows up but it says disabled. and when i try to enable it manually it doesnt do anything but slow down my PC.
i unplug and plug it back in many times with no result
the only way to work around it is to restart my PC which is kinda pain in the ass.
bump anyone can help?
would still like some help.
whats the proper way to disconnect the phone from PC while tethering?
