Flashed 4.4 Factory Image - No T-Mobile Data - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed the 4.4 factory image and now I have no T-Mobile data.
The APN settings seem fine, and I have data enabled.
Has anyone else come across this issue?

Ok, I actually solved it. I had to go into my APN list and change fast.t-mobile.com entry's APN protocol to IPV4V6.

I was performing a routine nandroid backup (Using TWRP recovery)
when i rebooted my apn settings were gone as well as my baseband
[Q] my question is do i just input the apn setting manually and the baseband will appear? or do i just fastboot to stock images to get back the baseband?
any ideas as to why my apn settings disappeared so i can avoid this situation in the future

Just reflash the radio you we`re using with TWRP, download from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087227. You might have to add the apn settings manualy.
Thanks that fixed it :good:

How do I know what radio is on my Nexus 4

I have a Google Play Nexus 4 Android 4.3 that I rooted so that I could flash different radios to correct a data problem. None of the radios made a difference but I called Straight Talk and they gave me new APN settings for my T-Mobile sim and for the last hour I have been getting a data connection. Now my problem is I want to know if there is a way that I can see what radio is running on the phone? Yes, I forgot what the last radio I flashed was. I don’t want to mess with a setup that seems to work. Also if I rooted my phone will I be able to get the android 4.4 update from google when it is released in October or do I need to reflash it back to factory fresh?
Settings> About> Baseband
you can go into your settings and about phone and check the baseband version and that is your current radio that you are one. To get the update you would more than likely have to go back to stock, or you could wait for a custom port of the rom and just flash it.
Thanks for the answer. seems the stock 4.3 radio and these APN settings got my data working (Straight Talk T-Mobile sim), although the speed is nothing to be proud of.
1. APN Name: Straight Talk
2. MMS Port: 8080
3. APN: wap.tracfone
4. Proxy: 216.155.165.40
5. Port: 8080
6. MMSC: http://mms.tracfone.com
7. MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.40
8. Delete the current APN from your phone.
9. Reboot your phone.

What Happened to my APN Settings?

I can't seem to find the APN settings on my Pure after going through the motions of bootloader unlocking and TWRP flashing (via command line), and SuperSU flashing(via TWRP)? Stuck with no service, and can't even find the settings to either edit the APNs or select a service provider...
Have you tried a factory reset? That's not the most convenient option, I know, but it usually works.
What service provider do you have? I'm assuming you've already looked in Settings --> More --> Cellular Networks --> Access Point Names? Is that option completely gone?
This happened to me last night. The only way I found to fix it was to flash another rom. I initially restored to a stock backup and still had the issue. I flashed a CM12.1 rom and the settings returned.

Latest update botched data - any ideas?

Hey guys,
I have an S8+ from Canada (unlocked, purchased direct from Samsung). The latest update seems to have killed off the ability to get data working, everything else is fine.
The update went as normal, but as soon as it rebooted it was out of action. I've since reconfigured APN settings, wiped the cache partition, reset the network and performed a factory reset - no dice.
I swapped sim cards with another GS8 - my sim worked fine in the other phone and that sim didn't work in mine.
Anyone have any ideas?
Kind Regards,
Michael

Is your APN settings still intact after the update? Check under settings>mobile network>access point names. That's most likely the problem, you might have to Google the APN for your current carrier and add it to your APN list, then select it. If that isn't the problem make sure you have the proper network mode selected (ex. CDMA, LTE, Global,...) if you need further help don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks for the reply - yea that was the very first thing I checked. No dice!
Do you have the proper network type selected for your carrier?
