N1 Turns off by itself

Hi everyone
Annoying issue. My phone is turning off (power off) randomly. Sometimes I take it out of my pocket and it is off. Then I have to reboot again with power button.
Anyone else has the same problem?
I am using CM 5.0.5.3.
Thanks
Mine reboots regularly but my phone is stock

Mine is running stock & has never ever turned off . You might have a faulty phone or problem with the rom you are using.
I had the random reboot problem on stock too, but it never stayed off.
Still happens on CM, but much less often.
Can you reproduce the problem? If so keep "adb logcat" running and see what the error is.
try pulling the last_kmsg from the phone..... Some information in there. Will at least let you know if it is hardware or software crash......
thank you martin
Little help. How do you pull that particular file?
thanks a lot
its a file, probably named so becasue it contains kernel messages (errors, debug).
Located at /proc/last_kmsg
you could pull it, tail it etc
example: tail -f /proc/last_kmsg
Yup, have the same problem sometimes
Both on stock and CM
Now I am running Modacos desire rom, and so far I don't think I have hade any unexpected reboots or shut downs
I have a similar problem but mine will sometimes turn off and not go back on for about 5 mins or so, sometimes longer, pulling the battery or even plugging it into the charger doesn't even give me the orange LED. it goes completely dead. it also sometimes gets stuck into boot mode like loop. this is on a stock N1 but this happens maybe 2-3 times per month. HTC said I can send it back or have it repaired but it's too much of a hassle and at least mine doesn't have dust under the screen if the problem persist I'll prolly send it in. BTW it's not a battery issue because I have two batteries and it's happened with both. faulty phone for sure.
I've had this happen once or twice the first couple weeks I had the phone.
It started happening to me when I installed appbrain and appaware so I uninstalled both and not done it since, so for me I think it was one of those apps!
Mine has done it once, I'm guessing it was an app that did it since one time in nearly 3 months isn't that big of a deal
I am still investigating. Its wierd that it happens morewhen I put it in the pocket. Its fine when its on the table
I have the same problem. Noticed it only happens when radio signal is very weak and a phone call comes in...Don't know if that makes any sense :S

MAJOR problem - phone restarting every 10 seconds!

Hi guys,
this is my first time using these forums and I wouldn't have done that if the problem was easily solvable. However, this is a major problem for me and I couldn't find a thread nor a solution to it, so I'll post it here.
I have the i9305 4G version of the S3. I have had it for about a month now, and it worked fine, up until now. The phone suddenly starts to restart itself (not reboot!) for about 10 seconds, then goes back to the dashboard.
The problem seems to be the WiFi. Right after I get the "Connected to ... network" message on the bottom of the screen, the phone vibrates immensely once, then everything freezes for a few seconds, then another 2-3 vibrations, before the Samsung logo comes up with the LED light on. After a few seconds again I'm back in the dashboard until I get the "Connected to ..." message, and so on the process repeats itself.
Turning off WiFi seems to solve the issue, but once I turn it on again the problem reoccurs.
Something else I've noticed is that if I have WiFi turned off and cellular data network (for instance 4G) turned on, the "4G", "H+" etc. logo does not appear, even though I'm connected to cellular data! Don't know if it can be related to my main problem.
I have tried everything I'm aware of. Unplugging the battery, factory reset and back up, hard reset, wipe cache pertition. After the factory reset I can use WiFi again, but only for a few hours until the problem reoccured. I THINK once my battery is fully charged the problem occurs.
Note: I haven't even touched stock ROM, kernel etc. Nothing is flashed. Phone is in the same condition as when it came out of the box. Android version: JB 4.1.1
I would be forever grateful if you could help me out here, I can't have a phone restarting itself and vibrating like crazy every 10-15 seconds.
(Sorry in advance if this was the wrong place for this thread.)

UPDATE:
Seems like my issue isn't just related to Wifi. Cellular data network was actually related to my issue, as I first feared. If Wifi is turned off and cellular data turned on, the same thing happens. Seems like the issue occurs every time I try to use the internet either way.
Anyhow, if I let the phone reboot itself without turning on or off anything at all, it will reboot about 5 times until either Wifi or cellular doesn't work anymore even though the status bar tells me that it is turned on!
This seems to be a serious connectivity issue and for the first time I'm suspecting interference with the phone's wireless network hardware. If none of you are able to provider an answer, I guess I have no choice but to hand it in to get it repaired or replaced.
Still noone who has a solution to my problem?

My solution to your problem would be to just bring it to whoever you bought it from and demand a replacement. That isn't normal behaviour.
you can boot into recovery and do a factory reset and cache wipe
if wiping does not solve your problem, just return your phone.
I don't know if this is related, but, I had this issue once (the cause is not wifi though), and samsung fixed (or replaced) my phone.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I'd wipe the phone and return it. This is not normal behaviour and should fall under warranty... Wiping might fix but this may happen again if there is an inherent problem with your handset....

Nexus 4 Rebooting (Stock)

Hello,
I've been having a weird issue that's occurred maybe 10 - 20 times or so in the last 3 weeks. Every now and then i'll press the power button, the display will turn on, and then I can't slide to unlock or turn the display back off. After about 5 - 10 seconds the phone does a full reboot. I haven't been able to replicate the issue on any sort of consistent basis, it just happens at random.
My question is: Is there an error log somewhere that I can check? I admittedly haven't went into rooting my phone or know much about that end of it, but i'm wondering if one of the apps I have installed is causing it and figured maybe some sort of error log might help me identify the issue.
Anyone else having this problem?

Nexus 10, system frozen in the morning

This happens every once in a while... after leaving my nexus 10 charging overnight.. after I unplug it first thing in the morning the system starts to misbehave.. settings menu not opening, apps don't load.. in other words system is partially frozen, until I reboot. I even tried re-flashing factory images... but the issue is still there.. is it most likely caused by some background app that I use, or could it be a hardware issue? any idea folks
Never mind folks... I managed to sell it. Ordered the latest ipad, can't wait !!
Too bad as I got the same issue
Every morning the tablet is not responding at all, have to reboot. This is on stock 4.4. Anyone else experiencing this? How to chcek after reboot what was causing the hang?

Troubleshoot Random Resets?

Hello
I'm getting 1-2 restarts almost daily, and what is consistent is that the phone will short-vibrate once, then a pause of about 8 seconds, then two quick short-vibrates in succession (about .25 sec apart) and then the phone restarts.
This can happen when in my pocket, it can happen while actively using it, can also happen when just sitting there on my desk with screen on. I haven't seen a pattern regarding app use or activity triggering the restart.
I posted a question a month ago about how people with Androids can troubleshoot restarts. There HAS to be a way (app, etc) that allows you to see crashlogs **without** rooting your phone. Yet, I got no replies here to my last post.
Is this really such a hard thing to do with Android? Please, tell me if I'm wrong and missing something completely obvious. I'm right now factory resetting my phone cause I can't figure what's causing this.
Thanks in advance for the help.
I have the some.
Any once have fix for this random reboots ?
Same problem at any moment. And sometimes it stays at a boot loop.
I have changed the firmware to a custom one and the problem persist.
