i've samsung Vibrant GT-I9000M from canada
it has froyo 2.2 , build number FROYO.UGKC1
i want to unlock it - sim unlock
i rooted it with superOneClick root
i cant get codes with SGS unlock tools , i tried many approaches but not yet !!!
any one successful method for this model ???

The SGS Unlock Pro app mentioned before is also in that thread, and does the same thing, but it is a paid app.

Just wanting to let you know that there is more than likely a Gingerbread (Android 2.3.3) firmware update for your phone.

Buy the SGS Unlocker from market author Degantboy or something like that.. the paid version 100% works on my phone.... it use to show me unlock code on 2.1 but not 2.2+ but still unlocks my phone.
Run the unlock procedure, reboot phone, shut phone off, place in new sim card, power up phone, if the phone isn't unlocked re-run app with new SIM card and reboot, voila should fix your problem.
Your phone needs to be rooted. and the free versions don't work for me.
you can always just buy the unlock code to unlock the sim restriction.

While we're on this topic, I used one of the free apps back when I had 2.1 to get the unlock code.
I've never used it, but I have the code saved. Now that I have updated to 2.2 and then 2.3, would the code still work?
Hmm another factor is that I must have done that before I had the phone repaired (as the repaired one came back with 2.2). I wonder if whatever board they replaced will have a different unlock code? I guess it might be based on the IMEI? Not sure if that changed or not...
Nv data hex edit. Change a 1 to 0, and permanent unlock. search for instructions, they are on this forum and search really isn't that hard to use.

You must get confused by the T-mobile Vibrant when searching for information. The Bell SGS does not have band 1700, as such, it will not work on Wind. The T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant includes 1700 but does not have band 850/1900.
I used superoneclick to root then purchased SGS Unlock Pro. When I upgraded to GB via Kies, the unlock remained. I had used the app that got the unlock code but when I re-locked my device, the code stopped working.

I have used Galaxy S Unlock by Helroz, however in order for it to work, you may have to install/upgrade busybox.
I found the easiest way to do this was to superoneclick, then install titanium backup and make sure it has root access. Then upgrade busybox from within. Then you can use the Galaxy S Unlock to unlock.
i did this on my newer phone, and also on my family member's Galaxy S2 from Bell.
altering nv_data.bin might end in total imei lose if you corrupt it
and please do not pay or purchase full apps to unlock your device !!!!

I also have a Canadian Bell GS2 with CM9, root, busybox... I'm trying to put a Rogers sim card in it.
I have tried both the Galaxy S Unlock as well as the Galaxy unlock app from Herloz unsuccessfully...
I have tried to run the unlock code generator by feeding it the nv_data.bin, but my GPU is not supported, and I'm not exactly keen on messing up my EFS files.
I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for me?
Perhaps I could have you guys run the tool with the attached nv_data.bin?

Does anyone work on unlocking the new Region Lock for i9500 ?
I know some work being done for note3, but what about s4 ?
I'm stuck with a US locked i9500 (outside of US). The "activation" with US sim did not work (it worked in US but once i'm abroad it is locked, but even here works with american sim). I can test things on my phone / provide logs if needed.

I haven't tried but you can check these methods.
1. I heard that root is needed together with the app like region lock away.apk by chainfire
2. Further, it seems that purchasing a SIM unlock code not only unlocks the device’s SIM, but also its region.
3. With root explorer navigate to system/csc/customer.xml*file (if you can)
It will contain list of Network Lock fields including one for your country MCC for e.g for Thiland it's MCC is (520) and China MCC (460).You can find your country mcc by googling.
Thailand NetworkLock field in CSC file might look like:*<NetworkLock>520BB</NetworkLock>.
China NetworkLock field in CSC file might look like:*<NetworkLock>460BB</NetworkLock>.
This would help understand what might be the reason for the change in lock state whether it is a change in the regional NetworkLock list in the CSC .
Find your country in which you are in respective mcc code and search in the xml file if you find it delete that mcc code line and save it. But please don't forget to make backup in case if it doesn't work
Tell me if it works otherwise some other person will surely help you guys.

1. Tried the RegionAway app v1.3 by chainfire. it was sucessfull but nothing changed. it is still locked. ( the app is designed for note3 as far as i understand)
2. i've heard about many who tried their luck with purchasing codes - it does not work. Also confirmed with unlocksamsungonline.com it wont help
3. my customer.xml does not contain the string "lock". This is probably because i've downloaded and flashed an official version of my local firmware. (thought maybe it will unlock) - it didnt. Also tried to flash older modems - or it does not work completely or still locked.
Also got a comment from unlocksamsungonline.com that "I9500 is Andriod1 model with new EFSv2 security" and is a problem ....

Eventually i found a guy with Z3X box and he unlocked it in 3min by pushing "Unlock" button on his laptop

Dear sir my phone is locked to SAUDI ARABIA mobile provider called MOBILY, i want to unlock it to use in sri lanka. When i put a sim that is curruntly use in sri lanka And when i turn on it ask "ENTER NETWORK UNLOCK CODE" with 2 buttons ok and dismiss.
I dismiss it and continue iam able to use phone and it shows full signal but no career name and emergency call only. When i make a call it shows not registerd on network. Plzz help me
Same problem here. I tried whole different ways including reflashing ROM but didn't work. Then I found Region unlock app by chainfire. It worked like a charm. Also you need to root your mobile first. Rooting method is somewhere in xda. Search it . Hope it helps.

I live in Argentina and I see that the 2 Core Prime G360F for my kids purchased 3 days ago in parís, have the regional SIM block. The Fnac seler dont warned about this.
Now I see that on the lower side of the boxes has a warning on regional SIM lock. The solution of Samsung is to activate a 5 minute call with a European SIM. For me, it is a lote complicated from my country
I'm seeing that an application that unlocks it for Note 3 rooted. Somebody knows if esta apk with The G360F work?

Hello, i have the same problem, there phone Samsung sm g360f which is locked to the Portuguese operator = MEO, want to unlock all operators but I when I try to install software at the end of the process gives me an error that there is insufficient space to install the file. I can only install software that is MEO and those of Vodaphone gives me an error, whether 4.4.4 or 5.0.2
When give me error when I can only install this file (G360FXXU1AOB1_G360FBTU1AOD1_G360FXXU1AOB1_HOME.tar) for Downgrade and repear the smastphone. Pleace help me , I tried with all versions of Odin and it is not work it

try install true or custom firmware to fix problem, some firmware on samsung firmware site is lock and you must Buy country lock code from this site

I installed the region lock away 1.3, it didn't unlock my core prime (t-mobile) G360T. Any ideas or inputs highly appreciated.

I have trouble instaling supersu on my device , I rooted my phone once using "Towelroot.apk" ,but after I reset my phone I tried the same application but it does'nt work this time
I tried hard to root the phone following the steps on this link [ http://forum.xda-developers.com

I tried "Iroot.exe" , I got an application similar to supersu ( a chinese one ) but it doesn't function as supersu
I want to root my phone and install supersu and clockwork mode or update it through odin

Enter download mode. The model number listed there is the model number of your device. That will help us help you, but I suspect you have a frankenstein phone.

Install this APP and add some screenshots.
As suspected, this phone is a Frankenstein, meaning in your case an international ROM on an AT&T S4. Proper rooting procedures and other material for your device are here. Please note that your device is a US model and comes from a carrier that locks (i.e. encrypts) the bootloader on its devices. As a result there will be limits on what you can do with the device.
I'm tempted to trade devices as I have an I9505 here in the States, but I don't want the locked bootloader.

First: I understand from your reply that the possibility of installing Cyanogenmod or official Rom on my device is 0% :crying:
the link you sent me is about the AT&T S4 .
What if I try an AT&T Rom on my device, does that break it ? ,
second: The phone is made in Vietnam and whenever I reset it it starts with Chinese language thats why I thought it's chinese

Your device IS an AT&T S4, so installing an AT&T ROM on the phone isn't going to break it. The link I provided is so that if you do wish to work with this beast you have the proper tools to do so, since none of the tools in this forum will be of any aid. However, I'm going to tell you to run, not walk, to the place you got this phone from and return it, because you will not have a good experience. The bootloader is encrypted, which makes rooting nearly impossible. If you live in a country with LTE, you may have reduced or non-existent LTE connectivity due to the LTE bands on the AT&T model S4 being different from those for the I9505.
Country of manufacture doesn't mean a thing. My I9505 was sold in England by O2, yet its country of manufacture is also Vietnam. As to the Chinese language being default, that's ridiculously simple to change in the firmware, so that doesn't mean much either. Your screenshots however, conclusively prove that I was totally correct, and this is an AT&T S4. An I9505 would have "jfltexx" as the device type, not "jflteatt".

2. The device type is of one SGH-I337.
3. The Samsung Serial Number is CLEAN too.
4. You own a Franki. But looks more a GT-i9505 that one SGH-i337 (Take a look: HERE for remove carrier label).
5. COUNCIL: I will try to flash via ODIN this firmware for GT-i9505 if I was you. Do it by your own responsibility.

I can't return the phone back because I bought it 5 months ago :/ and from far place . and for the 4G we don't have this service ,so i can't confirm.
by the way , I rooted the device today with iroot and Replaced the Chinese iRoot superuser with SuperSu successfully (I found a tutori on youtube) ,but still I can't install clockworkmod , I will keep trying I may found a solution for that , if no I'll get rid of this phone -_- I may sell it to my brother since he doesn't care about the warranty or rooting stuff
anyway, for the mean time I will try the Rom sent to me by "Joku1981" and see .

I tried with the firmware you sent me yesterday , can't be flashed . odin give me the same error
I tried with "mobile odin pro.apk" than after reboot a yellow triangle with exclamation mark appeared , see attached pic ,
can I reset the phone or it just gone no way to fix that ?
It's too far for that. You need to install AT&T firmware via Odin for the S4 to function at all, thanks to the bootloader. Hopefully the device was carrier unlocked before you bought it, otherwise you'll not be able to use the S4 without purchasing an unlock code.

Hi Strephon
I got rid of the yellow triangle by following this guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUbciGy7kHc and now the phone stuck on "samsung custom"
after that I tried instaling the AT&T rom you sent me , and I got red writting I saw only when trying to instal AT&T firmware ( sv rev check fail : fused : 5, binary 1 ) , I think this is not the right ROM , I even tried the other rom for AT&T I found along with the ROM you sent me in "Sammobile.com"
I have friend who has a Box , we tried installing the rom with it , but still we can't

You can't find a ROM with that PDA and CSC combination, as that combination is for two completely different devices, neither of which is your device. The only stock ROM that will install to an AT&T S4 is an AT&T ROM. No other ROM will work, and your attempts to install an incompatible ROM have, to the best of my knowledge, resulted in that indicator in your third picture.
Your ONLY means of restoring this phone to any kind of operating condition is to head over to the AT&T S4 forums and start reading. I will give you a hand though, and tell you that to eliminate the custom indicator in your third pic, you need to read through this thread on the AT&T S4 forums.
The amount of help any of us here can give you from this point on is going to be VERY limited, so head over to the AT&T S4 forums to ask your questions. The device owners in that section are far more familiar with the quirks of the AT&T S4 and will be more able to help you restore this device than we will.

Your ONLY means of restoring this phone to any kind of operating condition is to head over to the AT&T S4 forums and start reading. I will give you a hand though, and tell you that to eliminate the custom indicator in your third pic, you need to read through this thread on the AT&T S4 forums.
The amount of help any of us here can give you from this point on is going to be VERY limited, so head over to the AT&T S4 forums to ask your questions. The device owners in that section are far more familiar with the quirks of the AT&T S4 and will be more able to help you restore this device than we will.

Please follow these steps :
Get the unique unlock code of your SAMSUNG Galaxy J5 from here
Take out the original SIM Card from your phone Samsung Galaxy J5.
Insert a non-accepted SIM Card into your Galaxy J5.
Now, you should see a box to enter “SIM Network Unlock PIN”.
Enter the unlock code and click Unlock.
That’s all.
This only network unlock

you can try to flash with ODIN the full stok firmware for your j5 model from other country!
it's free and you dont have any risck.
if you dont get it unloked after this, you can reflash the firmware from your country back or you can kep it the new one
