Curious as to why when using USB 3.0 it puts the device in airplane mode?
No one knows?

I have only seen one thread about USB 3.0 and airplane mode so far. This bothers the hell out of me. Does a ROM or preferably an Xposed module exist to disable forced airplane mode.
Does the hardware REQUIRE airplane mode? Is my Verizon Note 3 USB 3.0 better than other carries Note 3 USB 3.0 because of this airplane mode? Essentially I have seen a couple of confirmation threads saying "Yes it requires airplane mode," but none that tell me WHY.
SO....... Why is airplane mode necessary?
I'm going out on a limb here and say the reason behind airplane mode is power. USB 3.0 uses a ton more power than traditional usb 2.0. That being said... The phone also uses less power in airplane mode as it isn't searching for service. Power=battery life.
Do not quote me on this as it is just an assumption. It may actually be a blessing in disguise. Just a nice little tweak to keep the battery performing at max capacity.
On second thought. As I typed this ibrealized that the phone will still get power from the usb port on a computer...... Yea. We need a fix for this.

Me too USB 3.0 Airplane mode WTF?
I also find this incredibly annoying.
Also has anyone here actually got USB 3.0 data connection working on the SM-N900V?
I cannot get it to work in USB 3.0 mode.
I used the supplied cable, a retractable USB 3.0 cable. Both work fine with MTP in USB 2.0 but I can't get any of three diffrent PC's with USB 3.0 ports to actually connect with USB 3.0!
This was a selling point for me on the phone and it has never worked. What am I missing? Or is it a broken feature?
And yes a Xposed module to disable this would be tits. Other vendor's models of the Note 3 don't force this...so what gives Verizon.

Yes. I am using USB 3.0. Most of the problems I faced were related to Windows 7 Ultimate recognizing my new USB3.0 PCIe card and unsigned drivers. What a friggin nightmare. In the end, i had to install/uninstall the drivers from device manager several times. I also had to manually delete my old USB root hub crap left over from my old USB2.0 hub.
I still don't get it. USB 3.0 is awesome fast, but MTP and PTP are not very fast for indexing thumbnails of images. If i want to copy 1GB of images, it is fast, but if i want to scroll down half way and find one image visually, it is painfully slow.
Plus Verizon activates USB3.0 in airplane mode. If left unattended for 5 minutes, it will deactivate USB3.0 and turn radio back on. WTF is that crap?
Can you guys check the NDIS ethernet link speed on your PC when connecting your phone in usb tethering mode through a usb 3.0 port?
I'd like to here from owners of both the exynos and snapdragon version.
Just go to: Network and Sharing Center> Change adapter settings right click on the Remote NDIS connection and select status and
you can see the connection speed in the status window which in case of my xperia z shows as 480Mbps (exactly the speed of usb 2.0)
I'm planning to buy a tablet and the reason I'm asking this is to find a solution for playing with my PC through the tablet just like nvidia shield streaming.
I'm currently thinking of waiting for the Galaxy Note Pro and connecting it with a usb 3.0 cable in usb tethering mode
to my PC and create a 5Gbps ethernet connection between the note and the pc and stream using splashtop.
Anyone?
I am using W8 and the USB stays @2.0. The high-speed 3.0 is kinda unstable on 4.3, I will let you know how it works under 4.4.2.
Also, the 3.0 is not even used by Kies!!!!!

Tethering/MTP it doesn't matter.
For 3.0 mode you need to select a different option.

Did you also enable the superspeed option in the bios? Did you install the USB 3.0 driver in your OS?
If all of them are not met, your hardware will only run at USB 2.0 speed.
How to enable superspeed in bios

Just check your bios and search for the usb options where you can adjust the parameters.

it won't charge any faster. and to enable usb3 once you plug your phone in you have to go to the notifications screen and touch the usb options and enable usb 3, it will only stay on for 10 minutes before turning itself off.
u get fast transfer speeds transferring to the internal memory, but the sd card is usually slower
mine won't charge any faster. and file transfer is not noticeably faster using usb 3.0
How can I tell if my phone is in USB 3.0 mode whilst plugged in?
It's a blue-ported USB 3.0 cable.
Is there any way we can have the phone automatically switch to USB 3.0 mode when connecting a USB 3.0 cable to it?
ATM it defaults to "Connected as Media device"
Any ideas? xposed?
Bump.
This would be useful..
It would be very useful. I have been trying to get usb3 to work under linux.. but whatever i try i can't seem to get it working.
