Yes. In the camera app, press the little cog to bring up some more options then press the video camera icon. You'll get a menu for slow motion and other effects.

well that's for slow motion but it doesn't enable audio, I too am curious if audio is possible with slow motion.

Oh I'm so sorry, I completely misread the thread title =\

Sir I would like to inform you that the iPhone is not recording 720p slow motion video. It actually records 480p video and upscales it to 720p. GSMArena conducted a test to confirm this, and it looks like they proved it:
http://blog.gsmarena.com/the-apple-iphone-5s-is-not-actually-recording-720p-slo-mo-video/
I don't know if this is the case with the Note 3, but if a phone can record Ultra HD video at 25 frames per second and with a bitrate of around 48 Mbps, then it should be more than capable of shooting real slow motion 720p video's.
I hope this helps.

Good read I didn't know the iPhone up scales it's slow motion vids but I do like that it has audio and that you can choose where you want a certain section of the video to be in slow motion but I do prefer the note 3 quality

It has audio but it is probably crappy audio.
The Note 3 has 3 microphones, so it is a lot of stress on the processor to record High Quality audio and video at the same time. This is probably the reason it has been disabled. Maybe a dev can enable audio in 120 fps 720p video, just like the 4k recording limit (5 mins max) was removed.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2519180

Anyone know an app or pc program that does this?

Really ?
Can't a simple question be answered without haters slamming another device or in what way the device does something ? The question was if there is a way to get the slow motion audio effect like the iPhone 5 and instead you get responses on how much better the video and audio is on the android device that does not have that effect. I have seen the slo - motion vid/aud on the iphone and wish my Note 3 would do it, even if it did it with the exact same quality level as the iPhone 5.

I've been looking for slow motion video recording with audio for ages, it doesn't exist. Except I've heard rumors they have it on moto x. Really weird, well....

I'm so sorry to tell you this, but the S4 has no REAL slow motion-
If you choose ¼ Speed, then you'll gett [email protected] (Down to 15 fps and Muted Sound :·( )
But ⅛ is very horrible - records [email protected] and the output file has [email protected] but only 5 real fps so that 3 frames are identical to each other!
The Galaxy S4 has weird slow motion capabilities.
Did you know, that the Omnia 2 was capable to recording in Slow-Motion in 2009? (120fps, QVGA, sorry: No Realtime :·( and Muted Sound)

This is one of the Biggest Advantages of Apple.
Many Manufacturers Except Apple encode the file recorded at 120fps or so to 30fps and mute sound - That truly sucks.

That's why you have tap to focus so you can tell the thing what you want it to focus on. It's really simple, you want it to focus on something in the video just tap on it on the screen and woah! It will remain focused on it.

Resolution 1920x1080, anti-shake on, video quality superfine, the rest were set to default.
I can record and play back in 1080 on the phone, but I cant seem to play back the files on the computer without the image breaking up into a blocky mess. I'm using VLC to play them. Has anybody else come across this issue? 720 is fine. I thought it was the sd card, but even recording to the phone gets the same issue. Weird.
Well,
I see most annoying problem from SGS2 known as Video Stutter or frame drop issue has migrated to SGS3: http://mobile-review.com/review/imag...hoto/video.mp4
"Frame drop issue" printscreen from mediafire (min:13, max:39), but should be within range of 26-35.
PS: Exchanged mine SGS2 6 times, until got proper one camera module.
Galaxy Nexus records way better 1080p.

Even if he could it'd be like 5-10 frames per second - assuming the hardware / cam drivers are modified to support that. Why'd you want 4K though when 99% of the people don't have a 4K display yet ;p Not to mention how much crazy space uncomrpessed 4K vids will take when I panic at the speed of 720p/1080p videos use up my s4's memory / sdcard.

Whatabout an app that can record 1080p video, and at the same time take full resolution pics automatically as fast as the hardware can support it. Does anyone know of an app that does this?
Would it be possible to run this through a PC video app that uses the pics as p-frames?
Basically how divx works. You have intermittent hi res frames, and between you have the low res diferences between the frames.

I understand that part.
What Im trying to get at is that while I am making a video, I can simultaneously take pictures.
I was asking if it would be possible to use the pictures as the full frames, (at 4k resolution) and use the 1080p video frames as the inbetween "filler".
If there was an app that automatically took pictures at a set interval while recording video, Im sure it would make it a lot easier to encode 4k-type video from this setup.
Anyone with experience in video encoding and b and p frames?

negative the s3 the note 2 the s4 and the note 3 can all take for resolution pictures while recording video
the catch is the aspect ratio has to match so in 16 X 9 still picture must also be the same aspect ratio so for example on my note 2 the pictures are 6mp on the note 3 and s4 9.6mpiirc
And it can do this as fast as you can press the button at least it can on my note 2
I use it quite often
I am betting it might not be able to do this at 4k on the note 3 however.

The S4 shares its camera module (Sony IMX135), which supports [email protected], with the Note 3.
However, it's also limited by its SoC (4K recording is mostly CPU-limited, not sensor limited), and will have to be overclocked to at least 2.35-2.4GHz to match Note 3's 2.3GHz Krait 400.
A simple camera app port from Note 3 would probably work but lag.

It's not SOC limited and even if you over clock it to 2.4Ghz, it won't record in 4K.
That is because the Adrenocortical 320 cannot decode video at such high resolution

[S4/S2/S3 (For Maximum Resoulotion 1920x1080)]
Digital Zoom=Yes(Lossless to!)/No/Yes
Photo While VRec: Yes/No/Only if Image Stabilization (Digital) is Disabled
Filesize Display: KB/KB/Kb „and Left Space in MB on the Storage you're recording right now"
Video Stabilization: Digital/No/Digital
The Xperia Z2 Zooms Lossless only up to 1080p to protect off „overheating"! 61,2% Stupid, 2,35% Intelligent!
I did record 30 min With the S4 at Maximum 4x Zoom - it got very hot but kept recording!
The Note 3 and the S5+Alpha can Record 5 Minutes per QFHD (=3840x2016 Pixels; 4k=4096x2160! ) Clip, if that would be to prevent an overheating, then why are you able to restart your recording right after the „05-Minutes Mark" -?
Other Feature Comparrissions between those 3 Phones will be added by an Edit!
Did you know:
-The S3 records as good video as S5 in only-FHD mode without getting hot!
The sucking S3 has a better FHD than the S4 because the S4 gets Moiré-Artefacts on the GSM-Arena Video Comparrisson!
-After the S3 Mini was released, many people did verwechseln this!
Some people got a 4.8 Big Phone with a good Screen Resoulution and good FHD-Camera but some others got a Low-Res pixelly phone with low performance because they did not see the „Mini" in the name!
The S3 Mini is not a good phone. The only good thing is the „S3" in it which reminds to that sucking 2012 Flagship Phone! M3 would be a better name!

*The Galaxy S3 has ONLY Digital Zoom but the Stronger S4's Camera (really made by Sony!) can Zoom in Losslessly Digitally, the only REALLY USEFUL Digital Zoom!
Like the Nokia 808 and 909, it uses a Smaller Part of the Sensor and Scans the 1920x1080 in a Smaller Part. Samsung did optimized it for x1,0 x2,0 x3,2 and x4,0 so at x3,9 the Sensor will probably build even more heat!

WHY DOES SONÝ NOT USE THEIR TECHNOLOGY EVEN ALSO VOR THEIR OWN xPeria·Smartphones?
Look at Sony Xperia Z2's 4k on the GSM·َArena Compaire Tool! Right Here!
They've also got old Phones like Nokia 6220 Classic; 6111 and 7110!
But in the Photo Samples, theý're only Cameras from 3MP on, 2mp's like Galaxy Pocket are Excluded!
In the VIDEO-Samples every phone needs to have 720p-Recording or Higher!
The Galaxy Tab S-Models are the ONLY devices that i know, where the Maximum Video Recording-Resuolotions is Higher than the Screen-Resoulutionin! (Without Digitally- Zooming·In!)
The OMNIA 2 (GT-i8000) can record in 720x480 but the Screen-Res is 800x480 but because one of the x/y values is the same as the value in the video size (In this case: y=480) the Cideo can only be displayed in Original Size In.Preview!
The S4 uses 900p for Preview to prevent too much battery usage or overheating
900p=HD+=1600x900 like on a DELL INSPIRiON 17.
But the Note 3 Uses 1080p! Like the S5. The Alpha only 900p! The Tab S's 1080p.
The LG G3 Uses 1080p, the Find 7 1440p ,the Find 7a 1080p-.

Hello.
Well... my english isn't soo quite good too because i'm just a cute 11-Year-Old Aquagirl! And i actually can understand very goodly what you say.
Sometimes i just make edits to correct some Grammatical or Writing Mistakes - i týpe very fast! I can type „I love Hannah" in just less than 1 Second!

Well... 2k are 2048x1080 Picture Elements (=Pixels) and is the same as Ḉine2k.
And FHD (=FullHD ) is just 1920x1080 pixels but he wants 4k!
But... why can all those devices like GH4 only record the REAL 4k just in 24fps?
Quad Full HD=QFHD=3840x2160
4k=Cine4k=4096x2160
8k=Cine8k=4xCone4k
UHD=Ultra HD= 7680x4320p
FHD=FullHD=1920x1080
HD=WXGA=1280*720
HD-Ready=1360*768
HD-Ready+=1366x768 (Sucks)
HD+=1600x900
QHD=4xWXGA=2560*x* x*x1440 (LG G3, Note 4, Oppo Find 7 and not 7a, 7a only has FHD!)
He wants 4k, but why do you suggest him to use 2k?
2k is too less for him!
WGA sucks!

What do you mean?

4k video samples, USB3 speed comparison, Wireless & thoughts.

Hey,
Coming from a custom Note 2 this thing eats everything alive. I have posted a quick article on my G+ with initial day 1 thoughts on audio/video and generally comparing it against Note 2. Take a look if you want: https://plus.google.com/u/0/110518768053945426802/posts/A67qR4TjCwL
Also 4k video:
Remember to select "Original" quality
I played this on my 4k monitor and it looked really good!
1440P for me for the time being, 4k is too expensive
Is a pitty that Samsung divide their devices between Snapdragon and the crappy Exynos 5. Unfortunately in my country I will receive the Exynos version of $amsung Galaxy Note 3, that only record videos in 1080p.
my 4k video test , remember to select Original in Playback Quality
Both of these are really, really good!

Is it windy? I imagine from the location it is, but the wind noise is nowhere near as bad as the Note 1
in my video, i have audio zoom enabled, so it was zooming in on diff sounds from the sorrounding....without it would have been much better i guess...
what size was the video on the phone?
The audio Zoom option is greyed out if you choose 4k resolution so will use normal audio for that res. It was windy in my video yeah although not too bad. Wind noise is controlled quite well and the mics are better than on the Note 2
10 sec video was 52mb in size

Now would HTC bring 720P SlowMo to the M7 in the upcoming official Sense 6 update

The M8 can do 720P at 96fps SlowMo. While the M7 has only been able to do a pathetic 768x432 resolution at 96fps, not even 480P, which is just such a low standard already.:crying:
Since the M8 uses the same camera module as the M7, 720P 96fps SloMo is definitely doable on the M7. The SnapDragon 600 should also be perfectly capable with that.
Another big big issue, no sound is recorded while in SlowMo mode, even on the M8. That is just a ridiculous shame. Details! This is what we call details, HTC! How could you possibly miss this?! Is it hard?
Qualcomm does not provide drivers for that res. on S600 so it cant. If you can find a S600 device with 720p enabled by manufacturer somebody can try to port it from its kernel and driver.
HTC will not try to improve anything... And why should they?
They would rather prefere that you go out and buy a M8 device also...
That IS what they live on...

He means playing sound in slow motion not when you put it in normal speed. This is something the iPhone can do and I don't think if there's actually an android phone out there that does this feature.

As far as i know this is a limitation of the Snapdragon 600, the S4 also records at sub 720p in slow mo mode and then upscales it to 720p, this isn't about the camera module it is more about the chipset than the module, Snapdragon 800 enabled [email protected] fps, [email protected] fps and 720p slow mo.
Don't know about the sound as it has been that way since the One X. The S4 also doesn't record sound on slow mo.
I'd be a lot more interested in them bringing manual focus and shutter speed to the M7.. which again, since it's pretty much the same camera, you'd think they could do it.
Cant imagine if Slow mo with audio... The audio will Slow to? Lol

There are a few youtube vids showing slow mo videos from Xiaomi Mi2s (Snapdragon 600) and those have the option for viewing in 720p, i really don't know if those really have recorded at that resolution, or if youtube upscaled those videos.

LG G4 camera's problems

Hello I wanted to create this thread because this phone is really nice and has a great camera, but not perfect at all, first problem is the raw mode, it's cool but why is has some darker corner and green tint ?? and it's only 20Mo instead of 30Mo with Camera FV-5 and ProShot apps.
But Vincent2167 find a calibration file : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61360315&postcount=314
LG still have to fix it and don't need this...
An other problem is the camera mode, we can't record in 1080p in 60fps, it kind of sucks for a flagship in 2015, but the worst is the 4K video, the video is pixelated, try to shot a landscape with a blue sky, you will noticed that the sky is very pixelated... probably because the bitrate is too low, only 30Mbps for 4K is low low. I read it's almost 50Mbps for the Galaxy S6.
To finish, the camera mode when you do a zoom, a close up, the mic change and the sound quality recorded become very bad, especially when you want to record a concert, you can see it here :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKJZqdD8oZc
@0:34 when we zoom the mic change and the sound is closed, pretty bad, when it unzoom the sound come to reality @1:28
Edit : I forgot the video stabilisation, I think LG can do better, and has to do something to activated or deactivated the stabilisation because it makes the picture very distorted when moving.
Edit 2 : The front camera pretty good details, but the background is always overexposed even with HDR activated, so bye selfies with nice landscape.
So please LG fix this, it's nothing, sound like you just wanted to contain all real potentials of the G4, and wait to make for G5 or what ?
Edit 3 : Since Marshmallow, videos in 4K have better bitrate, 46Mbps instead of 30Mpbs only with Lollipop.
Why doesn't the camera app have a night mode setting anymore? I'm too old to remember ISO and shutter settings anymore. In fact, the stock camera app seems to be missing many features that existed on the G2 stock camera app.

Because its not needed any more. The G4 will take a night shot by itself if it thinks its necessary. It even does this with the front camera.

Did you see this mod ?
60fps does not seem stable but higher bitrate 48Mbs? at 4k looks to work. Needs root though.
Suspect they used a lower bitrate rate to keep file size, power consumption as well as heat low as possible. With the Z3 in warmer climates you could not get it to record 4k for more than 3 minutes (!) cold weather was better.

You basically answered your own question. It's not needed anymore *because* we can now manually control ISO and shutter speed.

Have you rooted devices? I own H815 and don't have OFF or ON on sliders in settings (just I or O).
If rooted, how did you change temperature? Root app?
No I'm not root, I found this picture here, and I went to the store, the LG G4 has different screen temps, in the store it was cold, mine is warmer... So I wanted to know which one has the best accurate colors or which one has been reviewed on internet.

Neither. The warm has more yellow and the cold has more blue. some people like colder screens ie blue. Course the degree of tint matters, if its too yellow or too blue then its not good as you never see white. This matters if you are watching movies or seeing photos but less if you are reading docs say..
The term 'accurate' isn't a good one because accurate colours require expensive screens to reproduce and are not attractive to view.
So vendors tweak the colours so that they pop and are pleasing. it seems pleasing is more important to people than accurate.
there is no way to calibrate a phone screen either, android does not support it yet like you could do using a spider say with a regular monitor. And this calibration needs to be done on a regular basis to remain accurate.
personally i prefer warmer as its easier on the eyes. on my laptop i have a utility called f.lux that drops the colour temperature after sunset. otherwise its like staring into a headlight! have to turn it off when viewing photos but otherwise for working its been great.
i did the same with my phone using an app called twilight.
Ok, but when I said accurate, I meant the color reproduction of the others colors, I think I read someone said warmer teint has better color reproduction than the cold one but I can't find it anymore. Personnaly I prefer cold, because of his real white, but not too cold to be blue.

How it can happened ? The sound didn't change when he zoom...
