[Q] Bricked my Nexus 7 - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, so I was updating my bootloader to the newest bootloader (4.23) and managed to get an incorrect flash. My N7 will not boot, not even to the bootloader screen. My computer still recognizes that a usb device is plugged in but I can't access it with adb or fastboot. Any ideas on how to salvage my nexus 7?

[Q] fastboot mode inoperative

One N7, strictly stock, is recognised in Win 7 and in fastboot mode i.e no issue.
The other N 7 is root and unlock.
Under Win 7 home premium:
All of a sudden it is not recognised and device manager shows Android composite adb interface
but the windows driver is missing ( when I plug it Win 7 is not showing that a driver is installing).
There is no mention of N 7, not even a yellow exclamation point, let alone no mention of portable devices.
In adb mode the N 7 is recognised. Bootloader is accessible but fastboot devices does not show the N 7.
I cannot access CWM recovery 6.0.1.0 neither through bootloader nor from Rom manager.
This N 7 has stock JB 4.1.2 (JZ054K). I have installed SuperSU, Rootkeeper and Rom Manager.
Under Win 7 professional it is recognised, it shows in device manager and in adb but not in fastboot mode after going in bootloader mode, and still cannot access recovery mode (waiting for device if I try to do that).
I need help to solve this issue. Thank you
I prefer not to use a toolkit.

[Q] getting files from softbricked nexus 7?

I tried using nexus toolkit , to do anything with fastboot i need to have it unlocked which whipes all data. To do anything with adb i need to have usb debugging enabled which i cant do.

Nexus 7 Only TWRP 2012

I have a Nexus 7 with a locked bootloader and only TWRP on it. No Android OS on it of any type or version. Can't unlock it as computer can't recognize the device after installing drivers from Android Toolkit. USB debugging setting is unknown. Even installed WUGFresh on my computer and no go with that software. Any ideas what I can do?

Stuck in bootloop after failed update.

Please help!!!
I tried to update my rooted Nexus 6P to 8.0.0 (OPR5.170623.011, Nov 2017) using the Flashfire app and something went wrong!!! The phone is now stuck in bootloop and will not get past the 4 google coloured dots. I can boot the phone into the bootloader and then get into TWRP recovery from there but thats pretty much it.
I hoped I would be able to fix it by flashing the system image, bootloader etc using adb and fastboot but have had no luck. I have tried on both a PC and a Mac and neither seem to recognize the device. When using the commands "adb devices" or "fastboot devices" nothing shows up and when I try to flash anything it says "waiting for any device" yet when the phone is off it signals that it is charging from the laptop.
I have updated my rooted 6P multiple times before using both Flashfire and adb/fastboot from both a PC and a Mac and have never had problems before this. I have run out of ideas to try so any help would be greatly appreciated but I fear I might have bricked my beloved Nexus 6P.

Weird. You should at least have fastboot when in bootloader mode, and MTP with TWRP. In bootloader mode, plug the device into your PC. The device is not detected at all? Have you tried wiping cache/dalvik? MTP not working in TWRP?
If you can boot into recovery then your device is not bricked. Make sure the adb and fastboot binaries on your computer are completely up to date. I'm pretty sure Google updated them for Oreo. You will need to flash the full stock image with flash-all.bat command when you get your computer to recognize your phone. Updating from Nougat to Oreo using Flashfire or Flashify is a bad idea because you are dealing with something way more extensive than an OTA update.

Nexus 6P Not Recognized In Bootloader Mode

I was trying to flash the latest images on my 6P, but it's not recognized in Bootloader/Fastboot mode. It boots to the logo, then reboots into TWRP. It's recognized by adb in recovery, but if I try and boot into boot-loader, it no longer is recognized.
I have tried in Windows 10, and Linux. Previously it was recognized. I am thinking that when I flashed the latest image, I didn't enable USB debugging. But it's odd that it can be recognized in TWRP and not bootloader.
I tried wiping data, but that didn't work.
(Yes I have the latest usb drivers for both windows and linux.)

What exact command are you typing while booted in the bootloader?

first i try adb devices, which returns nothing while in bootloader:
adb devices
List of devices attached
But when in TWRP I get:
List of devices attached
5VT7N15A28001306 recovery
So I can't seem to flash when in bootloader. I tried installing an OTA from TWRP but I get
error 7
Which makes no sense since it's an Angler Zip file for the Nexus 6P.
D'OH! I should have been using FASTBOOT in bootloader and I was using ADB, D'OH!

Have you opened developer options and made sure that USB debugging is definitely enabled. Maybe try the Nexus root toolkit to see if that helps. Also, you could try plugging your device in while in bootloader and check device manager. There may be something unrecognised or with a yellow triangle with a name like bootloader interface. If you see that then you could try installing the driver for it.
