Hi all,
OK so before I start let me convince you that I have put in a fair bit of effort and done some research before I post this. I have been working to solve this for two night now to no avail.
I have been playing Gameloft's Modern Combat 2 for a few weeks now on my TF, it runs great and I love it. Yes I am using the proper APK and yes I know it is not officially supported on the TF but if it was I would be the first to buy this game.
As I said it has been running fine until a few days ago. Suddenly when I launched the app, it FC.
In between playing the game I have been updating and wiping and flashing my ROM (primarily PRIME rom) with every update that came out in the past weeks/months. Never did I have any problem. When I did a full wipe, I just reinstalled the proper APK and let the data download over wifi.
What I have tried now:
- Removed the app, removed the data, reboot and reinstalled.
- Replaced the data folder from a buddy of mine where the game runs
- Superwiped, reinstalled Prime rom with latest updates and installed the apk and downloaded data
- Superwiped, reinstalled Prime rom with latest updates and installed the apk and copied working data folder
- Superwiped, reinstalled Krakd rom with latest updates and installed the apk and copied working data folder
Whatever I do, it keeps FC. I am 100% positive I have the correct apk for Tegra 2.
It leaves me clueless as to why it keeps FC instantly when I open the app, while I have no problem with any other app. Nova 2 HD and other Gameloft games are working fine.
If anyone has any suggestion what to try next I would be happy to hear.
When you use the term "proper" you bought this game? and took the apk and loaded on on the Transformer and the latest new rom now is causing it to crash ?
Running stock 3.2, rooted using timmydeans method (chrishohls version)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1307539&highlight=app+connect&page=3
- Browsers (Stock, Firefox & Dolphin HD) all work fine, as does email (K-9 mail).
- I can browse the market but cannot download / install apps nor can I access 'my apps'
-Maps wont load in GMaps along with other apps that use gmaps (marine traffic, flightradar)
-Other apps that need an internet connection (openfeint, teevoid, AdAway etc) wont connect, though interestingly, in app ads still load.
This problem started 3 days ago. I have the same apps running on my mobile and they run fine (using the same wifi AP).
I have no backup installed, so before I try a factory reset, any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Reload your tablet with V3 which has all the latest patches from ACER in it.
I just tested all the applications you mentioned and they run without any issues.
TD
Just rooted last night with v3 and so far so good on those apps as well. I get a few force closes but not sure if they are related. Thanks timmyDean and even more so for the wargames throwback.
Thanks for the reply td.
I rooted my device back on 22 Oct and havent 'touched' it since. It has worked perfect up till 3 days ago.
If no other fix comes to light, yes I will try V3 (after trying a factory restore of course)
What's V3? Thanks.
Dear i9190 owners
I have applied the root method of the i9195 to my i9190 and the root suceeded. use the same files and the same recovery but apply the su application using recovery instead downloading it from the market.
My i9190 now is rooted and works perfectly.
kind regards
Update:
after you install the kernel and recovery and the su app you might get an annoying message saying : Detection Information - The device has detected an application attempting unpermitted actions. To protect your device, it is recommended you reboot"
to stop this message from appearing do this :
1. Use File Manager with root explorer instead and mount SYSTEM as WRITABLE.
2. Go to: /data/data/ look for com.sec.knox.seandroid and rename it to 000.knox.seandroid or whathever you wish.. Same thing applies to com.sec.knox.store
3. Go to: /system/app/ and DELETE: KNOXAgent.apk, KNOXAgent.odex, KNOXStore.apk, KNOXStore.odex
4. Restart
Tips? Help plz

Yeah, i dit the same, even tried the files (from todat) at development forum.
Everything workes fine, until today. (before and after folloing the new guide) same problem.
My locksreen hangs and give me "wait" or "ok" choice, all the time. Programs that worked before begin to fail me, hangs and not work.
No sound from spotify, etc.
Dont know what to do, i have restarted my phone, i had a full wipe. sad, cant do anything almost.
Any tips?
Just to be sure, Timsung, did you apply the 9195 root on the 9190?

I applied the root of this thread exactly and didn't see any troubles. [RECOVERY][ROOT] Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini (GT-I9195)
my phone works perfectly and rooted and has recovery.
I think you need to flash stock firmware and apply the root again from the above thread of i9195
by the way .. after the root if you download the su application from the play store it will not work. you need to flash it through recovery.
I checked recently the recovery/boot files of both models I9190 and I9195.
The partitions is exactly the same, and the addres of them too. (mmcblkxx)
it's also the same harware except the nfc and the lte, so there is nothing to fear.
Hello,
I intend to purchase a S4 Mini and turn it "Google Edition", but I have some questions regarding it.
What implications does it have? I assume the touchwiz specific functions will not work, but will the phone/android specific functions work? GPS, navigation, google maps, etc?
Can the functionality of the camera and music player be improved with apps (like more camera options that touchwiz has, but not a Google edition)? I'd like to use the active notification app, will I be able to?
Since Android is free, will I get the latest automated updates as soon as it hits the Nexus?
Here is the rooting tutorial, does it tell all that is to know?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2364980
This tutorial has a video, but is for the i9505, can it still be used as a guideline?
http://www.technobuffalo.com/videos/how-to-turn-a-galaxy-s4-into-a-google-edition-phone/
There isn't a Google edition rom for the S4 Mini. You should just flash CyanogenMod 10.1 on it if you want something like that. All the functions you mentioned are working on CM10.1.
The camera in Google stock roms (upon which CM is based) has less features than the Samsung stock camera.
The activenotification app works fine on CM. TouchWiz is the interface used in Samsung stock roms and does not exist on these custom roms based on the Google stock roms.
Thanks. What I mean to say is that I want to install stock Google android (4.3) on the phone and get rid of touchwiz. I need to get more information about CyanogenMod to decide,
I'm sure it has neat features, but all I need really is a phone the size of the S4 mini and to run stock android on it (hence my decision to go with it, otherwise I could buy one of the google edition phones right away). I just wondered if it still has stuff like navigation and if the camera would work normally and such. Also whether I would get the automatic updates of android or am stuck with the version I installed.
Are you planning to get the LTE version? CyanogenMod 10.1 is currently only available on the LTE model.
You should read about what CyanogenMod is about @ http://www.cyanogenmod.org/about
I feel that it suits your needs
The one I'm getting is LTE.
So with the CyanogenMod I can still have that pure stock Google android look, but can change themes and stuff? Having choices and options is great but I want that pure and simple 100% stock android look.
I wonder how stable it is and how do I update that? Do I need to flash it each time? Stock android gets automatic updates, but if I use CM, than I don't want to fiddle around with installing updates again risking data and the phone.
I see 10.2 (4.3) is out.
Custom roms need to be tailored for each phone. There is only 10.1 available for the GT-I9195 for now. Support for 10.2 will come later when 10.1 is more stable.
There are automatic update notifications for updates to CyanogenMod. The latest builds commonly are based on the latest version of that Android release available on open source.
Incremental CyanogenMod updates don't wipe your data.
I put CM10.1 on it. I love the stock google look, so much more pleasant. The set of options is great.
Thanks to arco68 for the rooting tutorial and you for the rom installation.
I didn't backup the previous rom though, is there a way to reset it if necessary?
Is there a way to use the "System/Notification drawer/Widget buttons" on the "Lock screen/Slider shortcuts"?
I'd like to use the "Go to sleep" function by sliding the lock screen to the left to shut off the screen as opposed to sliding it left to unlock.
I tried some lock screen apps. Two work excellent, just as I want, but the one wakes screen up right after shutting it and the other stays open as app in the background. A third works but not so great.
having problem

it shows this!!!!what can i do????
I have 2 Galaxy S4 phones, one is the Active and one is standard S4. I use the Active on another line and switch sims when I want to use it on my main line, usually when I go boating or outdoors.
The standard S4 is rooted and has Cleanrom on it. The S4 Active is stock with the stock apps but is also rooted with the stock Rom. There are 2 Apps that I want to add to my standard S4 and I have tried to move them over but they seem to fail to install.
The 2 apps im trying to move are Optical Read and S Memo which are Samsung only apps meaning they come stock on the phone and you cannot download them from the play store. I used an app called APK Share and backup which seemed to do a good job of backing up both apps. I then transferred them over from one phone to the next and tried to install them. Both apps seem to be a complete APK file and when I go to install them they go all the way through the installation process and right at the end all it says is "App not installed"
I also tried using Titanium backup which failed as well. It gets all the way to installing the app on the phone and then freezes and does nothing. I thought for sure Titanium backup would work but no go.
S memo is the one I really want to have installed since I use a Note 8.0 to take all my business notes on which I would like to view on my Rooted Galaxy S4.
Anyone have any idea why these apps wont install or any other ideas I might try to move these apps over. It seems like it should be a pretty simple process since they are both Galaxy S4s but I guess not.
Did you try and fix permissions on the s4 in your recovery after you copied the apps. I'm assuming you took the apk from the active and copied into /system/app on the s4.

That I did not do. I will have to learn how to do that. I will try and search for it on google. Thanks for the suggestion.
my new note 4 N910H lags too much
I only rooted the phone. then to make sure I flashed the latest official rom. but it's lagging.
for example in browsing or facebook when I scroll it pauses for a moment then scrolls. it's like a temporary freezing
is there a way to fix it?
found a solution: @quantumtraveler
Open root explorer file manager and navigate to /system. Set it to read/write. Open a file called build.prop with text editor. Find (at the bottom usually) a line that reads: ro.securestorage.support=true. Change "true" to "false" (without quote marks.
Save build.prop and reboot your device
If you use xposed, go to the xposed installer and install the framework again. reboot.
Sounds like your internet is to blame. It's not loading the page fast enough. It's done it on all of my phones.

How long have you had your device? Mine was lagging the first couple of days, I was pissed off but too lazy to do anything, just thought I'd fix it later when I installed a custom ROM
After a few days the lag just stopped by itself... No idea what happened but I'm happy.

it wasn't the internet load problem, and fyi I have a very fast internet.
as I explained I found the solution and the lag is gone.
I also cleared data of S health as suggested
any ways my phone is as smooth as it can be.
the phone was lagging the first day I bought it.
After you installed xposed, which you forgot to mention. Glad it's working out for ya.
Sent from my SM-N910P
Yea I'm not rooted but mine was laggy at first and I restored it and it's much better
As ive learned on many previous Samsung phones, always factory reset the phone after you've done initial setup, preferably flash stock rom in odin and then factory reset
