Here's the rundown on my phone right now.
I'm rooted on 4.2.2. I have TWRP v2.6.0.0 installed.
Whenever I try to flash a ROM, I always get caught on the Samsung Galaxy S4 boot screen.
Whenever this happens, I usually just revert to my backup. I have also tried going back to stock and rerooting and then installing the recovery again and then flashing CM10. I always get stuck on the same screen.
Any help with this?

My GS4 is pissing me off for the last two days. I'm on the task650 4.3 rom. I rebooted and it's stuck at the Samsung Custom screen. I tried booting into TWRP recovery and cleared cache/dalvik/fixed permissions, and rebooted. Still stuck at that screen. Tried reinstalling the ROM.zip file. Nope. Now I can't even get into TWRP. Its stuck at the blue screen.
So basically I'm stuck at either the blue team win screen or the black samsung custom screen. What am I doing wrong?
is there any 4.3 stock TW rooted rom out there I can flash? I'm fed up with all this
Also, what's the best way to switch recoveries from TWRP to CWM? Can I just odin the file off their website for the AT&T variant? No?
Hi,
I'm currently running CyanogenMod KitKat version with ClockWorkMod. Since the rom has several bugs and for the past few months they haven't published any updates to my Galaxy s4 I9505, I've decided to switch to WanamLite.
There I found out I need TWRP recovery so I went ahead and downloaded GooManager which installed an outdated version, as I've found out.
I tried wiping my internal storage as recommended but the recovery couldn't mount any of my partitions.
So now CyanogenMod won't boot. I know this issue is fixed in the updated version of TWRP but I'm not sure how to update it without the phone booting (Odin perhaps? It doesn't recognize it currently... Should I move to download mode for it to be detected?)
Anyways, I'm kind of stuck as of now. Any help would be very much appreciated!
Btw I have a question, what's the difference between using Odin 1.85 and 3.09? Why do people still use the old version?
Thanks in advance!!
Neta
Edit:
Alright, now I can't get into recovery either. When I try, I can see the Samsung logo and there's "recovery" written in the top left but then it just restarts again into the same logo without "recovery". I'm starting to lose my cool now. Anyone have any ideas?
Try flashing latest stock through download mode and see if it boots.

Uncheck auto-reboot in Odin.
Thank guys
I got freaked out and just did everything I could to make the phone working again.
I found a thread on XDA explaining how to return your phone to stock version, so I followed it, rooted with auto root, (btw Odin didn't recognize my phone because I used the front usb... how annoying!), then flashed the latest TWRP (2.7.0.1, not 2.6.x.x as GooManager downloaded for me), then booted to recovery and flashed WanamLite.
Everything is working now!
Except one thing - I'm still not able to access recovery mode through physical buttons, only using boot apps. Is this a kernel issue?
Could be some incompatibility since CyanogenMod uses it's own kernel and CWM recovery.
The recovery itself is working fine, but when I try to access it using buttons it shows the Samsung logo with the recovery on the top left, and then reboots again to normal boot.
What do you think?
Thanks!
I have rooted and installed ricks rom using safestrap. Everything worked well until today. Long story short I tried using safestrap to install a new ricks rom. I get stuck on activation screen so I rebooted phone and messed around with safestrap. somehow my phone is now stuck on boot and I can only get into adroid recovery from the boot screen. I am stuck here and cant figure out what to do next? Is there a way to install a custom recovery from this point? any help would be appreciated.
Yes, you can flash another custom or stock recovery to rescue from this problem.. Try this, may this'll help you..
I tried that but it would not work. I finally used odin to flash the stock rom and got my phone back to normal again.
I just rooted my note 3, went all OK. Installed CWM recovery, said it worked.
however, when i try to boot into recovery, it just brings me into the stock one.
ive heard something about it flashes the default recovery on boot?
how do i fix this? thanks
Hi there,
Please help me. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505.
It was rooted and had custom rom installed with Kitkat 4.4. The custom rom was Echoe S5 Port.
I did a full backup of the system and rom before trying to install a different rom.
I attempted to install Albe95 LolliRom version 9.0. I followed all instructions and installed the Modems and bootloader.
Installed the rom, however after rebooting it hangs on the "Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505" screen. (not the Samsung logo screen)
So I decided to go back to my backup. Wiped data, cache etc and restored through TWRP. - Successful
Reboots fine, able to use the phone as normal, however the second reboot hangs on the "Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505" screen.
I even tried a fresh install of the Echoe S5 port rom and it does the same thing on the second reboot.
I can get into TWRP recovery fine.
All roms were used from this forum.
Let me know if there is any further information required.
Please advise a way forward to recover my phone, thanks.
Try a different bootloader would be my first suggestion.

No luck, tried various different bootloaders for my model.
I suggest flashing back to a completely stock ROM from sammobile.com and set up the phone to ensure that all functions are working. If everything is fine on a stock ROM, then I would flash TWRP and try to restore the backup.

Just flashed back to stock ROM.
Still stuck on "Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505" screen.
I'm almost in same situation and it made me to ask you: Did you try to use Odin to flash the ROM?
After flashing a stock ROM with Odin, did you perform a factory wipe in stock recovery before booting the phone for the first time?
