I was just wondering if there's any chance of there being new flashable kernels for the Note 3. I used the STweaks one for the Note 2 and it worked well, with nice overclocking options.

You need to contact devs on the T-Mobile and sprint forums to ask for a port.

Do you guys expect the stock JB ROM for the upcoming Nexus flavor of the S4 to be backward compatible for existing I9505? That would enable us to get a pure JB experience on our I9505 on a relatively "official" ROM? Presumably this would be stabler/less buggy (wifi, BT, LTE bugs etc) than existing CM10-based custom ROMs? If so, hopefully this will give our resident devs a more resilient base ROM to develop off of.
Look fwd to hearing your thoughts...
It'll be good to get the stock android experience, like one of those inside a Nexus device.

I expect this will allow hybrid ROMs to be built AOSP/Touchwiz

right. do you think the stock ROM on those "pure" S4s would be usable on our existing I9505s?

Most certainly, in one way or another. The Google edition will be called GT-I9505G

Probably yes assuming they have the same chipset/hardware. Just look at att/verizon being able to flash i9505 roms. How I love the beauty of open source drivers.
Oh and mate this thread belongs to the general section

the answer is, probably, yes.
notice how the new S4 nexus has the exact SAME SPECS as the i9505 has. (same screen, cpu, gpu, 4LTE.. every single Component is the same as i9505)
that is why i believe roms for the new s4 nexus, will be ok
I'm just waiting for this to be confirmed so I can buy my i9505

Not the right place to post thid though.. but I hope you're right!
Me Gusta!
Wondering when we will see custom kernels for lots of governor/scheduler fun with undervolting/underclocking and ability to dictate things like "max frequency when screen off". Those abilities really helped stretch my GS3 battery.

Oh well. It's perfectly fine as it is. Maybe one day the African Canadian Sock Monkey will come around again.

I have permission to port FoxHound from the International forums to our phone just like we did for X note.
I am currently working on my own MJ5 based rom, but could put this together if there is enough interest.
Let me know what the community wants

Go for it! That's what makes XDA great!
Git'er done!!

Just by reading the op not seeing anything radically different or improved from xnote, but that's just me. Can't have too many choices, I guess.
Pls do. FoxHound rom looks like one of the best battery friendly one.

That is what I was kinda thinking. It's not much different. But with our small dev section everything helps right?

Up to you, it's your time you're investing. It looks like if you run aosp theme on xnote they even look the same. I think maybe xnote actually has more features with xnote control. Let the people decide I suppose, but for me it wouldn't be worth the time plus watching 2 threads for basically the same rom.
I have decided not to release this rom. It is not stable on my device and if i need to concentrate efforts to make it run, i would rather put my energy towards my rom that i am building.
I do apologize for the false hope, but i refuse to put something out that does not work as expected. Anyways, thanks for everyones attention!
Brian
Could you please see about implementing phablet ui on one of your ROMs, with the status bar/nav bar combo on the bottom of the screen? I miss this from the og note and note 2 more than anything else. Thanks for all your work

Yes! Please port this. The UI is very clean and simple in this ROM.
Hi @bri315317,
Is a port in the works?

I have decided against it as i am building an ML2 rom to compete with it.
I haven't seen a thread discussing the best roms for the Verizon Galaxy Note 3 yet. Is this the right place to post this? I'm currently on the Neon Rom because it's very light. What's your favorite rom and why? I like testing out all roms but wanted to know what everyone else thinks.
Eclipse. I doubt that's going to change either. Having an actual AOSP feel while maintaining Touchwiz is truly the best of both worlds.

Same here. CleanRom from SG3, SG4 (but Scott stopped supporting the S4), now Note 3.
Been on Jelly Beans for a month. Just switched to Baja and like the stock them just a little bit better. Either way all these ROMs are great. Pretty much the same. 4.3 Touch wiz

Users do not see these threads because they get closed - they get closed because they always spiral into arguments and beauty contests.
Best is what you like, and only the individual knows what is best for them - try them all, they are all here due to the hard work from the members who contribute.
I miss CleanRom. For those that had CleanRom and have moved on, what ROM is most like Scott's CleanRom?
Honestly, none ... And I'm not saying that to be mean or "bash" any of the other developers on here. I just don't think there's many out there that strive for a true stock/bare bones ROM. CleanROM was simple, to the point and rock solid and I've personally yet to find it's equal ... I hope someone can prove me wrong.
But with that being said there are a plethora of great options for us out there! I've moved on to Eclipse and am thoroughly enjoying the AOSP look/feel again!

i am slowly working on an MJE version similiar to CleanROM. I posted for beta testers but got no responses.

I am new to developing ROMs and work slowly. By the time I am read to go to NC2 or NC4 the N4 will be out and I am expecting to jump to that.
Gotcha ...
Completely missed that thread when you posted it! I'd have definitely given it a try. Now I'm too lazy to go back to MJE LMAO

I would go with BajaROM if I were looking to replace mine. He adds a lot more tweaks which some may find enjoyable.

I actually flashed BajaRom last weekend. I'm getting some lag and a couple of issues. I never had an issue with your rom. I'd rather have a spruced up rom and let me install what customizations I want.

Or you should get another Verizon N3 and make YOURS to replace yours [emoji12]
J/K ... I understand why you left. And (as I've said with the Galaxy Nexus) this will be my last Samsung device ... I really think Sammy has (radio) issues with CDMA!! they got it right with the Note 2, but I've had similar issues that I had with the GNex - granted not as bad, but issues nonetheless.

Dang... my phone before the Note 3 was the Gnex. The radio was terrible!!! My Note 3 is perfect though.
BajaROM was nice but i always went back to CleanROM.
Cleanrom and Eclipse was the roms I use to run. Now just Eclipse. Nobody can take a phone and write code for a rom like @nitroglycerine33. Sometimes I think his work is entirely over looked.
The aosp code he puts in his roms is amazing.
Nitro is the real deal.
I ran Eclipse on previous phones.
Loving CleanROM as well
Been swapping between Eclipse and CleanROM over the last few months
