All the other carriers have their own "Official" thread so why not
Figured this would would be a good central location where fellow AT&T victims, err, customers, can help each other out and discuss all things GSIII.
I preordered mine yesterday at Best Buy, 16gb Pebble Blue. Got an XtremeGuard full body protector coming for it and gonna order up a TPU case tonight so I have some sort of protection for it until my Otterbox arrives. I hope we (US S4 GS3) get our dev section soon so our devs can do what they do. It never ceases to amaze me at what those guys can do

Can't wait to get mine and do some comparing with my One X. Preordered the white model today through ATT.

After waiting like 7 hours for the Corp store able to order it for me (they had issues with it processing). I got them to knock 25 off the price and 25 off my monthly bill. I ordered the blue one...I'm really excited.

I am super excited to get mine. I ordered it online right when it showed up. It was 299 though. I called today and eventually the customer rep said there is a 100 dollar rebate and it will be in the box. Anybody else have this happen?

It was an instant rebate. I highly doubt a rebate will be in the box. If that was the case, I would be getting mine for $99. Sounds like the rep doesn't know what they're talking about. I would call again and explain what the other rep told you. If you are upgrade eligible, you should only pay $199 plus tax.

after going through 4 methods to try to pre-order and retain my unlimited data, i decided... i'm just going into the store on launch day. that way i can 1) get the phone at 9am instead of waiting till i get home from work and 2) keep my unlimited without extra hassle (the store has no problem keeping unlimited on immediate phone sales but for some reason it doesn't work for them on pre-orders)

bought mine online at bestbuy.com had no problems keeping my plan or unlimited data intact
I'm wondering what people are getting for sd cards, there's quite a few 32gb out there, only a couple 64gb ones... I think i'll stick with the 32gb as it took me 2 years to fill up the 16gb on my sgs1... are there any reviews, comparison, etc for these micro cards? i know these sd cards can really vary in terms of r/w speeds and what not.

Think I will wait to get my hands on a galaxy s3 in store before ordering. Waiting a couple months and that $199 price with 2 year contract should drop a little.
Edit. With SD cards, you want the highest class number. Those are the fastest. But be careful because the most extreme speedy cards might not be supported.

All orders will go to a backordered status because there isn't any actual stock as of now. I ordered at 1am, an hour after preorders went live, and mine also says backordered. The same exact thing happened when I preordered the One X and it shipped on time.

I checked the confirmation email and order status and no where does it say 'back order', just 'pre-order'. I've never pre-ordered before so I have no prior experience with this, either. Hopefully everybody will get theirs on the same day no matter what it says...

The HTC One isn't even on HTCdev.com for unlocking. I would imagine it'll be a little while after it's released to get it on there and unlocked.

AT&T is usually 100 cheaper or more for off contract. Best buy wants contract only sales so they jack up the off contract price.

I pre-ordered a silver 32gb AT&T model at Best Buy this evening. I was planning on getting the black, but the more I thought about it, I kind of like the silver. I've always had black so maybe time for a change, and maybe I'm a bit impatient. The girl who rang me up told me it would be there on the 19th, but we'll see. I chose Best Buy because I pre-registered for their $50 gift card if you activate/upgrade a phone with them this year.

So I went into Best Buy today to pre-order for Sprint, but they told me I have to wait until tomorrow since only ATT has started pre-orders. I'm a little confused about how pre-ordering works. The guy told me that it would be $50 when I pre-order, and that it would be reimbursed with a 50 dollar Best Buy gift card. Is that $50 dollars for the pre-order a down payment that will come off the total later or is it a premium that is just "refunded" with a card I can only spend at their store?

That preorder $50 is different than I was talking about. They make you buy a $50 gift card and they link it to your preorder, that holds your phone. When you go in to actually pick up the phone, bring that gift card with you and it can be put towards the phone, or if you don't you're left with a $50 Best Buy gift card. The $50 I was talking about is a promotion that already ended, but if you registered already, that's another $50 gift card you'll get when you purchase the phone, however you don't have to pay for the second one. If you contact them, they'll convert the coupon to a Visa gift card.
The ebony back looks amazing, but I don't think I can justify selling my used phone just to buy a replacement (wood-backed) phone

For $25 I would've bought the bamboo back. Instead, I didn't see paying $100 for the back, and I ended up buying just a white. With all these price adjustments i don't know if I were better off just buying the Nexus 5 and waiting until the next $150 off coupon...

I'm surprised that for the people who bought the $100 bamboo back, Motorola sent an email with a $75 dollar coupon code towards any accessories order on their website to make up for the price adjustment. I'm really happy about how Googlerola is handling things like this. Looks like I'm going shopping :victory:

I wonder how long the price for the backings will stay at $25. I'd hope for a couple weeks as I really like the bamboo back but don't really have all that much to spend right now.

What do you mean.. It's a permanent price drop. I think the unlocked price will stay at this until the next version of moto x. Don't know about the useless carrier versions , since they keep running crappy promotions which locks people into 2 years and people fall for it.

If it's permanent, that's great to hear. I'm just a bit cautious in that it may be a promotional price to encourage the purchase of the new wood backs. The bamboo backing is what I have my eye on and I'll be sure to start saving especially now that I can save $75.

They gave back (automatically) $75 to people who recently bought the bamboo back, so it definitely speaks for a permanent price change.

This ticks me off. I ordered mine the 20th dec and got between the campaigns (skip, chromecast, 100usd pricedrop) and now they lowered the wooden backs by 75usd which I payed a 100 for?!
If I bought the phone in the "right moment" I could have it for 175 less.
**** you motorola and your pricedrops.
It's not even in my hands yet. I will get it on wednesday.

I haven't got anything from motorola (and where does it appear? On my motorola account which I ordered the phone from?).
I chatted with them about the campaigns and that was a dead end.
Do I need to call them? I live in Sweden so it's a bit complicated.

The promo code will be automatically sent to the email account the order was placed on. If you didn't get it then call the Moto x customer care number.

You are eligible if you bought a bamboo back from motorola.com. Again where did you buy it from? If you bought it from motorola.com, I don't see any problem.

Well you will not get a refund email .. Everyone who had bought bamboo back Moto x got an email with $75 coupon for buying accessories.
If you want refund or didn't get the coupon code email then you need to call them.

If you are outside your return period, I don't think they will do anything. May be they will give you a coupon code for accessories if you call.

I just bought mine today . I already had to cancel the order and then re-order it the next day because Motorola screwed something up . They gave me a free case and $50 off to make up for it.
If I have to cancel and order this phone for a third efffing time just to save the other $50 I'm going to be super pissed.

For the "limited time" Cyber Monday and Wednesday offer, Moto was NOT refunding the difference if you purchased your X "recently", even if it was during the return period.
There was a thread here on XDA where multiple users posted that when they contacted Moto about a price adjustment due to having recently purchased the X, they were instructed they would have to do a return/repurchase type thing... (Or just purchase one at the "limited promo price" and return the originally purchased one due to how long the RMA and credit process takes).
Since Motorola Mobility also replied in the comments to that post "It will be promo codes like the holiday sale. You will need to register on Motorola.com and the code will be emailed to you." I expect this will be the same.

$350 for a developer edition is very tempting.

Damn, Motorola isn't playing nicely. Just shows how they jacked up the release price. The $599 phone can be had for $299 now. Shameless Motorola, no respect for early adopters.

So I'm gonna be in the market for a new phone in a few weeks. I'm gonna miss this price drop. But would you say the moto x is still a viable option. I'm torn between this and the n5. But I like this phones feature better and I do lots of driving and I don't want always have to touch my phone while driving. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Isn't the AT&T one only free because Amazon only supports upgrades through the next program? Unless something changed from when the thread started it says 2 year upgrade not available, and has a monthly Next fee just like AT&T does.

Just wanted to stop by and thank the OP for this post cause you saved me $200......well $199.99!
Due to me being on SERO-P I haven't been able to jump on these types of deals since I switched to SERO-P on the Evo 4G. I found out from someone on Slickdeals that Discover's price protection worked on cell phones so I figured I'd try it this time. When I preordered the G4 I made sure I used Discover. I waited until my 14 day return period passed before submitting my claim with Discover. It took a little over a week after resubmitting my claim and it is now approved.
So now I get the best of both worlds...SERO-P and super cheap phones!

I only see this phone on Amazon for $99. I'm assuming this deal is over?
