Has anyone attempted to figure out how to get the new Google Dialer with business search to work on 4.4 AOSP ROMs? AFAIK, it's only on the N5 port.
I'm not too savvy with porting so I was just seeing if anyone has attempted to look into it. I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in this feature. ?

No porting necessary Just delete AOSP's /system/priv-app/Dialer.apk file and copy /system/priv-app/GoogleDialer.apk and /system/priv-app/GoogleDialer.odex from Nexus 5 non-AOSP ROM.
I will make a flashable zip tomorrow.

It doesn't matter. If you look carefully, the Nexus 5 stock ROM actually has both odexed and deodexed apk's, so it's probably a new kit kat feature.
Anyway, I've attached the flashable zip to this post

I'm not sure if it can be done...Halo is part of the rom's system, it isn't really something to be flashed. You can always flash garwynn's PA builds in the original dev section, they include Halo.

Yep, Its the ultimate guide:laugh:
Hey man =) firstly i really like to say thanks a lot for the guide. but I have an issue. I tried to port GS3 CM10.2 4.4 rom to HTC one x CM 10.2 RC1 rom. Even i tried your 2nd section I'm still stuck at boot loop. the closest phone is one x+ and it has only aosp 4.4 so i can't use that. by displays GS3 sounded much better and i tried that. I'm still stuck. Was i supposed to use something else instead of another CM kitkat rom? Thanks!

Yeah, this guide will work on 4.3 cm10.2 and any 4.0+ rom( only difference is the priv-app folder). The reason of your issue may be because the device your porting from. I here alot of people port gs3 roms using the nexus 4. Try using the nexus 4.
And remember to use stable roms. Roms that are like in alpha stage my not be able to port saying some apps, permission, etc still relies on unneeded libs.
thank you.I will be try.You are maked a very good work. Thanks again.

hey man. I tried stable rom this time. I used CM 10.1.3 as base (device is endeavoru) and I used crdroid CM11 rom from mako (nexus4) but with or without the fix it doesn't boot I'm always stuck on boot logo. can you give a link for porting which would be best? Thanks a lot!

Your base isn't the same android version as your port ROM.
Cm10.1 is 4.2
Cm11 is 4.4

This isn't a cause of the guide and congratulations. First, what rom did you port and what did you use as base? Like the devices

It is not a cm rom but slimkat rom does support f2fa, just flashed it yesterday, works brilliant so far.:good:
Official SlimKat dosen't support F2FS but Legolas93's modified ALL-F2FS does. But First you will need the ALL-F2FS modified TWRP Recovery to run it.
For the Modified TWRP recovery go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2678140
Just follow the directions exactly and you will be good to go
For the Modified SlimKat go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2678142
Not yet but koko98 said he's working on it. The OmniRom post her is as close as you'll get right now.

Did somebody compile a AOSP 5.0.2 rom without any additions and wants to share it here? Or has the time to compile it and share it here?

You can find some pretty minimalistic AOSP ROMs out there, for example:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-simpleaosp-t2932090
Few changes, nothing major or noticeable.
If you want pure AOSP, it's pretty fun to compile it yourself!
ATM I'm using that. But I want the pure version for some reason. And I have no time to setup a building environment.
Is there really no pure AOSP build for mako? I can't believe it.

There's one here http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-pure-stock-lrx22c-t2982897, but it's only 5.0.1.
Building one right now with the memory leak patches, but it can take quite a while until the build and upload has finished...
EDIT: Sorry it took that long, removing ccache was not that intelligent ^^
It is pure 5.0.2 with two cherry-picks to fix the memory leak:

Download link: Recovery ZIP, Fastboot flashable images
Wow, danke! Werd's nachher direkt mal ausprobieren!
Update:
Does not install. "There's an error in updater binary" and some other errors...
The AOSP update scripts don't work if system is already mounted, I think. If it didn't work with an unmounted system, you could try the fastboot images I've added to the post above.
Okay, I'll try both variants.
After unmounting system before the installation everything installed without problems. ROM works flawless too.
DANKE!!!!
Is there any kernel for Android 6.0.1 on Nexus 7 2012?
Yes, every 6.x ROM provides a kernel, too, or what are you looking for? If you are looking for sources, you might want to have a look at my Github.

I am looking for kernel that enables overclocking. I searched forum but there are only kernels for Lollipop, not Marshmallow.
Probably you would like to have a look on Daniel_hk's kernel for Omni ROM. If I got it right, he implemented some overclocking into it, but I did not test it.

So just flash OmniROM for 6.0.1? And the kernel is included? Or is there a separate file for kernel that must be flashed?
His Omni-build should include the OC-kernel directly.
Looking for a kernel on Nexus 7 2012 (3G) to fix baseband_XMM_power wakelock
@williamlaw: my kernel has the patch included. Most likely I'll upload a fastboot flashable zip today or tomorrow onto my Android 6 AOSP on Grouper thread.
