Hi guys , I'm currently on Nightlies 4.1.2 JB (unlocked and rooted) and I want to install a 4.3 JB rom onto my tf300t. BUT I need to update my bootloader to 4.2 as stated by the instructions . How do I go about this? I've looked at multiple threads but cant seem to find a SOLID answer/procedure to do so.
Thank you for your time.

that was my question. So Im on the JB leak now, and have downloaded the stock ICS that came with the phone on my SD card now. So do I just do the same procedure put in recovery and flash to ics as I did the jb rom, or is there a different procedure? Or will that way work as well?

ok thanks
I have been trying to find this everywhere but I have not been able to. Is there an update package to go from 4.2.1 (JOP40D) to 4.1.2 (JZO54K)? I found one for 4.2 to 4.2.1 and was able to keep root but I can't seem to find one for 4.2.2. The only one I did find was named "03a4eaf95f73.signed-nakasi-JZO54K-from-JRO03D.03a4eaf9" from it does not work.
Thanks!

You will not find an OTA zip to downgrade from 4.2.1 to 4.1.2, that's not how this works. You've also mentioned 4.2.2 which I will assume is a typo since that doesn't exist.
If, for whatever the reason, you want to downgrade to an older version of Android than you are currently running, you'll need to a flash factory image. Here's a guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907796

You are absolutely right, I mixed up somethings, thanks for pointing that out. Thank you for the reply, and sorry everyone. For some reason I thought the latest update was 4.2.2.
Hi all, I want to know, if I will get OTA update of the 4.2.2, if my device is root and the bootloader is unlock.
Thanks!
You will get OTA, but you will loose root. Bootloader will still be unlocked though.

Just use OTA Root keeper and you'll be fine
Besides root I also updated the kernel with the video tweaks from https://plus.google.com/107979589566958860409/posts/9VtBVHP67Hg
Should I restore the stock kernel now?

I am in a similar situation: rooted phone (stock rom) plus franco kernel - i want to update to 4.2.2 but not sure how to do it so i still keep the root and the custom kernel.
I have OTA root keeper installed.
Any advice would be much appreciated :good:

Uhh.... why?
The whole point of having an entire "Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting" sub-forum is to be able to post distinct threads for each issue so that no one has to wade through hundreds of unrelated posts in a single thread looking for an answer to their question.
Trying to decrease the usefulness of XDA in order to karmawhore is not cool.
I would like to know too,I'm rooted on stock ROM but with Franco kernel
Thanks in advance

hi guys,
i just did a search in the development and original development threads for 'stock rooted 4.4' and came up with nothing.
Is there one created yet and also one that is cwm flashable?
thanks guys
There is already a working root for 4.4. I actually rooted my device immediately after I upgraded to kitkat yesterday. Though I lost the link here in xda, just search for it.
thanks mate.
the reason i was looking for a simple flashable stock rooted rom is i am very good with knowing about the bootloader or what exact 4.3 i used last time and i didnt know if it mattered.
there is an official stock rooted version on the nexus 7 2013 forum i noticed yesterday but i couldnt see one here.
also, i am running cwm recovery and i think the nexus root toolkit uses twrp doesnt it?
anyway, thanks for the help and hopefully a flashable soultion will be available soon.

If you already have CWM installed, then you can flash supersu. I don't know where it is in this forum, but just try searching.

Thanks but I already have supersu, I don't understand what that has to do with the rom im looking for apart from the root element that I already understand about.
I downloaded the flashable zip from here - roll back to 4.2.2 stock first using CWM and kept my data, about 90 minutes including wait time - running KitKat now, rooted (again) on KitKat 4.4 stock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47522094#post47522094 - see my post for steps that I followed. Results vary & do so at your own risks.
I'm sure in a few more days - XDA developers will tweak & come up with optimized odexed stock rom with add-ons, but I'm half a step ahead for my own sneak preview - less than 1 hour into it, smooth & no FC or errors - figure I might as well do it over the weekend - the new baby Nexus 5 running stock 4.4 & rooted already, of course.

I would just try to install 4.3 or even 4.2 (don't know what is miui built from) bootlader and radio. You can find the old ones in general section.
