I would just try to install 4.3 or even 4.2 (don't know what is miui built from) bootlader and radio. You can find the old ones in general section.

The latest SuperSU that you flash in recovery is the only thing that works on AOSP/AOSP based roms (Anything that isn't Cyanogenmod, AOKP, ParanoidAndroid, PAC, etc)
You have to flash this unless you want broken sensors: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2147194
Select the first zip and flash it before that rom of your choice or you will have problems.

Returning to stock australian 9505

Hey guys was hoping to get a little help. I am currently running foxhound 4.1 on my S4. The baseband version is I9505XXUFNA5. Its OS 4.4.2. In the process of flashing this rom according to the instructions on the dev thread said i had to flash a different bootloader and modem before flashing the rom. This process worked fine and i have been running without issue. Work has now decided that they want everyone on Android 4.3 so we can use apps they made to make our job easier so i need to go back to 4.3. I attempted this last night and when i try to flash a 4.3 rom via cwm it returns an error saying that the bootloader is the incorrect one and fails and i have to reinstall foxhound again to make the phone usable. Any one know how i go about getting back to 4.3 or where to get the correct bootloader and modem so i can flash them via odin and then install Androind 4.3? Any help would be very much appreciated.
Cheers Jeff
Nobody can downgrade from 4.4.2
WTF really?? Cant i flash 4.3 bootloader and modem and then go back to 4.3?

Nope not at this stage cannot downgrade to older bootloader, sorry.
The best you can do is install a 4.3 custom rom. Try an echoe rom, version 12.1 the final bean I think should do.

Have I killed my Nexus 2012?

Hi guys,long time lurker here.
I have recently tried to update my old Nexus 2012 to Kitkat, and messed it up!:crying:
I can only get into TWRP now, and only get roms on there via a USB OTG cable.
Thing is, i've tried loads of roms and they all seem to fail. I've obviously messed up somewhere, anyone give me any poiinters?
Cheers.
EDIT
Think I'm sorted - seems i can't update to Kitkat, I tried a 4.2 rom, and all is good.
Note to self - do more research before 'updating':silly:

If you took an OTA with stock firmware and TWRP, that's the issue. You can't boot into the bootloader to flash stock?

Cheers dude, I think I'm sorted now, albeit at a 4.2 rom. What's the easiest way to update to 4.4?

For stock KitKat, use Nexus Root Toolkit and flash the stock binary, and enable USB debugging! Toolkit really takes over so it's kinda one click.
For a ROM? Update TWRP, CWM, or PhilZ to the latest version and pick a ROM that suits your fancy! Good luck on your journey!

Ah yes, I tried the toolkit when I thought I'd furbared by tablet, I'll enable debbinging & give it another go.
Cheers.
You probably need to update your bootloader to the latest.
You could flash stock 4.2.2 with fastboot.... And when you reboot, it will give you the kit kat ota. Which will update your bootloader and leave you on 4.4.2. Then you just need to flash recovery and root again.

Hmmm, just tried this, everything seemed to go well, but it hasn't given the option of an ota update when I've rebooted. It's still showing as as CyanogenMod Version too?

Hi, seymour71...
If you're running Googles official factory stock Android 4.2, then you can download the relevant OTA update(s) from here, directly to your Nexus 7, and flash in CWM or TWRP.
You can find out the specifics of the ROM build number your currently running by going to SETTINGS>>ABOUT TABLET>>BUILD NUMBER on your Nexus 7.
You may need to upgrade incrementally, that is to say, from 4.2 to 4.3 (and their successive point updates) right through to the latest version, Android 4.4.2 (Build number: KOT49H).
NOTE: OTA UPDATES ONLY WORK WITH OFFICIAL UNMODIFIED FACTORY STOCK... If you're running a Custom 4.2 based ROM, then flashing them will fail.
Good luck.

Cheers dude. Just checked, the build number says: BeatMod CrystalClear v2.3
Android version is 4.2.2
I thought i'd just flashed it back to a 4.2 stock rom via the toolkit, but apparently not.

"BeatMod CrystalClear v2.3"... Never heard of that one before. There are some pretty obscure ROMs out there. This one sounds like it has some sort of 'music' orientation.
Anyhow... it's a Custom ROM... and you wont be able to update it to 4.4.2 unless the developer has released a 4.4.2 version.
---------------------------------------------------------
Your best bet is to fastboot flash the official Google factory stock image for your specific Nexus 7(2012) model (WiFi only, or WiFi & 3G).
The Nexus 7(2012) factory image(s) can be found here...
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#nakasi
Instructions on how to fastboot flash can be found here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907796
Hope this helps.
Rgrds,

Ah, it seems I didn't do it right properly first time.
I'm now on 4.2.2 with the build number JDQ39.
Would I be safe to flash a stock 4.4 rom using the toolkit now? It hasn't offered me an ota update - not yet, anyway.
Edit- It's doing it now, I think. Watch this space!

Can I install cm 11 or a stock kitkat rom that does not have touchwiz on my NB1?

I have a att s4 sgh-1337 with android 4.4.2. baseband version 1337UCUFNB1. I'm trying to put on CM 11. or another rom that looks like stock android with no touchwiz and 100% working and stable. if I downgrade to android 4.3. can I then root, install CWM recovery, and install CM 11?
what would happen if I booted into android system recovery and installed the cm 11 rom for my phone?

Short answer: No. You'll void your warranty and bootloop.
As for 'stock android look', I can recommend PurifieD or Google Play Edition ROM although it has a few bug that I'm going to work on once this semester ends..

No CM for now. You cannot replace the stock recovery. The only working recovery we have is safestrap.
You can use DVKM Tool and install BlackBox3.0 (Check post 3 of All things ATT thread)
thanks. hm, don't know what I should do. I bought this phone last week used on ebay so I dont think I have a warranty to void. another reason I wanted CM is so i could easily get updates. I dont really want to be messing with roms all the time. do you guys think cm will work soon? in the next few months? maybe I should stick with what I have till that happens. I'd rather wait for that then cause my self more headache.
does PurifieD come with the stock kitkat widgets?

No, probably not. The i337s bootloader is locked so we can't flash kernels. A lot of devs have moved onto newer devices so I doubt anything new will happen. And I'm not sure what the stock kitkat widgets are.

what android version would the i337 need to have to be able to install cm 11? 4.2.x ? I'm thinking of asking the guy I bought mine from to see if he has any others that still have an older android version that would let me install cm on.

hm. Im not sure how to have the seller check for me then. if the phone has android 4.2.2, it should be on mdb or mdl, right?
Or it might have MF3. To find out, just go into Settings > About Phone (if the phone is complete stock unrooted, then the build number/baseband should match the boot loader)

Not booting into recovery

My friend's got a s3 neo and all he wants is cm 12 on his phone. I rooted using towelroot but I can't get into recovery and even if I install any custom recovery the phone boots into download mode saying "Could not do normal boot" bla bla and Qualcomm secure boot enabled and write secured something like that. I think that some qualcomm security is not letting the recovery written in system. AND then when I boot the phone back on and start flashify it says the current installed recovery: Stock recovery.
Help me here guys. I just wanna get into recovery somehow and wipe and get on with lollipop

@Rox @Barbarian-King Guys I DM'ed you both the same thing. Sorry if I'm annoying you but it's kinda urgent and I'm a nexus 5 user. So I installed the cm12 with TWRP for 4.3. and then after installing it boots into the same "could not do normal boot" download mode screen. Thing is He's kinda jerk and wants it back quicly and I know I can flash stock 4.4.4 but my internet is kinda slow. I have Cm11 and CM12 downloaded but no luck with both
Really need help from both of you
