Alarm_Rtc - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone have this wakelock?
My friend does not on his Note 3 but I do. Even after Odin back to stock without doing anything I have it. It doesn't really take up any time but it's count after 24 hours is around 6,000 which I feel is abnormal.
Any thoughts?

nvm, seems as if people either don't care or won't believe it.
Too bad the automatic assumption with that screen is it won't work well on battery life. Still worth it for that great phone.
not to say that his isnt possible because i think it could be. i would have liked to see the other screen because mine says right now up 108 hours awake time 30 hours.. when u hit battery use it'll say how long it was unplugged for.

Sure, what other screen? Crud you probably mean the screen after this one.. I just looked through all my screen captures and I dont' have one! Urgh. Well guess I have to run the test next weekend again. For now I guess you can believe it or not

touch battery use right above the uptime that screen shows how long its been unplugged for

Hey I believe you. I was able to pull off 40 hours on a stock rom with actually 1 hour of the screen on, and I still had 30% left.
very impressive! it makes my 11-15 hour days look rather crappy lol
From what I have learned, the up time and what not is how long your phone has been up without a restart. Not how long you have had it for a single charge.

my point exactly the next screen when you hit "battery use" is the actual uptime since it has been unplugged .. if that were the case i could be like i just got 108hours of battery life and still going i'll believe it you get 90+ hours since unplugged
So if I turn everything off and put the phone asleep and not use it, it will last 90+ hours?
Am I understanding this right? If so whats the point? My phone isn't much fun or use when its asleep

Just charge the phone, kill all the apps, leave it under the bed and come back in a week. It should work.
Seriously whats the deal of the 90 something hrs?? Go get a car battery and maybe you get a month of non-stopping usage.

Hahaha. I believe it and think it's cool, and its good research. People are so nasty in this forum.
Yes you wouldn't want to use these exact settings and not use the phone much to get 90 hrs of battery life, but this is RESEARCH that can help us figure out what settings do or don't help battery life. If he used the phone a bit it might last a day and a half, or 2 days.
Thanks for checking things out, don't let the haters bring you down.

Has nothing to do with people not caring or believing it. Was just the picture you posted as your "proof" was a meaningless one, just as many have mentioned. Example; Look at Danon.Brown's pictures...if we go by what you posted, we see he has 108 plus hours of usage when in he's only been unplugged for seconds. Great you got your 90 plus hours on it...but what about the time actually unplugged and usage the phone has seen? If one does nothing but let the phone sit idle...it's easy to get 2 plus days out of a charge.

Can you post system panel screenshots?
I'm at 19 1/2 hours right now with 30% battery left and I thought that was pretty good (couple hours of robo defense, couple hours of web browsing, a bunch of movie trailers on Flixter, hour or so of music, a bunch of texts and a couple calls from my mom). Getting nearly 93 hours out of this phone just seems a little difficult to believe under normal use. But then again, maybe I just have more work to do.

I can get my phone to idle at an average loss of 2% per hour with wifi and phone radios on. I see this as completely plausible with minimal use and still being able to receive phone calls texts and emails.

Battery/Charging Issue

My wife's Galaxy S5 is 3 months old, we just moved to Europe from the states and last week her phone will either drain extremely fast and won't charge unless turned off and it took 8hrs to get 25% battery life. Does anyone know might be wrong with it?
Tried a different charger? Battery?

No to both of those questions, I just got back from a trip today and haven't been able to go out and buy replacements.
I'd give those both a try first, they seem like the obvious candidates for the problems you're having

Going to have to find a Samsung shop around me first. I did use her phone, it went from 48% to 38% in 15 minutes.
Downloaded Greenify and seeing what's causing the battery drain.

Battery and other things.

Hi.
So I bought S7E in September. I noticed a smudge on the screen. I sent it in for repair. They repaired screen AND battery AND usb connector, although the only thing wrong with the phone was screen. They also wrote that they updated the software (I checked and I have android 6.0.1).
So yestrday I got the phone back. Plug it in the recharger and restored it with the back up I made and played with it while it was charging so that I could fully adjust it like it was before.
Than I went into battery settings and it said "Learning usage patterns..." And I was like "okay, you do that"
This morning I woke up checked if it is till learning usage patterns and it is not. BUT it says that the "Estimated usage time remaining is 10 hours".
Now I found that a bit odd and bit low, especially since its a new battery. Before I sent the phone for repair I had like 22-24 hours of estimated usage time when it was on 100%.
I also noticed that most of time my smart manager says the phone has 75% RAM in use. So only 1 gb free. I think that before I sent it there it wasnt like that.
So any suggestions, ideas or anything guys?
I also attached some screenshots
Your battery life seems okay. Check how many hours SOT You get. Take a screenshot of screen battery usage when You have around 10-20% or just say how many hours You got. With a custom rom I get usually around 4-5 hours at most, but with a stock rom 6-7 hours. And on my device I have 1.2GB of free ram and after cleaning ram I get 1.7GB.
Your first estimation is going to be low especially after a new update. Give it a day or two . And don't clean your ram too often because it will get reopened again . (waste of battery ) . Your android system is using alot tho but thats normal for newer software.
Give it time to settle down a bit It will get better
So far it's been over 4 hours SOT on my device and I still have 50%. 8 hour SOT? COOOOOL! That's why I chose S7 Edge . Let Your device learn usage patterns. It really works! After 2-4 days Your battery life will be better than ever
Okay. I made some screenshots.
I dont know either why System Android is using that much.
Anywayw today I was mostly on FB and 9GAG. I am ill, meaning home in bed. So I didnt really watch videos or talk on phone to much (maybe 3 or 4 calls).
Yeah. I hope it will learn my usage patterns and that will be it. Because sending it back to that company that repairs samsung here in my country is really the worst. Like they are retarded or something...
Will it also get less laggy with time? Because I remember that before I sent it there, it ran a bit smoother. Now sometimes when scrolling through this forum or facebook its a bit laggy... I know it wasnt before.. Is that also something that the phone needs to learn and adjust after few days? Or should I factory reset it, just to be sure?

Your sot isnt too bad for a new firmware. Atleast you can get around 6 hrs sot. Your lagg prolly wont adjust and i am not sure why your device is lagging at all. Give it a few more days. Just hope nougat will fix your problems and ours.
Well before repair I sometime got like 4 hrs SOT, sometime 5, sometimes 6, sometimes even 7. It really depends on what I am doing on the phone.
Well its not that laggy but I remember it wasnt as much before.
Do you maybe know when nougat is coming for s7e?

The beta program is around the corner, its only a matter of time before it reaches out publicly. My advice to you is to turn off fast charge because for me its around 3-5 c less heat and it is only 20 minutes slower .

Standby Draining Thread

Hey guys! How is your One+ behaving? Does it sleep like a baby? mine does depending on the moment. usually I do not get more than 85% of deep sleep. Do you think it is normal? Phone wakes up randomly when it should be in deep sleep. Let's share our thoughts about this.
My OP5 arrived on Tuesday this week.
Charged it and did a basic set-up the next morning. Left the phone on, and went to work. Returned home about 10 hours later and the phone drained from 100% --> 94%
But like I say, that was just a basic set-up. As soon as I install FB, etc... I can see more battery drainage occurring.

It's similar for me now. I used to use a foreign sim card and I thought that the drain was due to it. Now I have a sim from the current country I am living in and it's exactly the same, so I do not know if there is any problem or the people who say that have 7 hours SOT lie.

Yea because if you use your phone on and off its gonna wait a while before it stops the cpu so more battery will consume itself to fuel that. You can't expect perfection on a lith ion battery

Getting less than an hour of SOT with a new phone and battery

I am in desperate need of help, I've only had this phone for like a week and I really like it but the battery life is abysmal. I'm getting less than an hour of screen on time, the phone is using about 10% per hour when in my pocket.
I've done the factory reset, deleting everything, downloaded greenify and absolutely no progress has been made.
Phone Idle and Android OS is sucking up about 20% of my battery. For the first couple of days I was getting about 2 hours of SOT and that's the best I've gotten so far. I just bought this thing and I really want to keep it but I can't afford to have this thing dying on me when it's just in my pocket don't nothing. Please ANY help would be appreciated, thank you!

Seems to me you may have a flawed device? 2 hours sot at best with a new device and new battery is horrendous, I have the T-Mobile variant as well, was refurbished and I'm getting a solid 15 hours with anywhere from 3.5-5 hours sot! Depending on usage so I believe you may have a defective V20 friend. I'm going to keep an eye on this thread see if anything comes up

That would mask the problem, not fix it. He would then probably get 2 hours of screen on time when he should be getting 6-7 with an extended battery.

Yeah every once in a while I get "Invalid Battery" and it shuts down and I have to leave the battery out for 10 minutes or else it will do the same thing. It's happened 3 times in the past week. Is the battery new, is your phone refurbished, water damaged battery? Old battery in New phone? Something is up with your battery it sounds like. Would be the easiest thing to replace and test. It could be the phone itself having a hard time receiving the charge (faulty pins)

The phone was new for sure, but the battery was already installed in the phone when I opened the box. Is that normal? I watched a couple unboxing videos and they had the battery separate.
