i dont know if it will work, it worked one time in my old galaxy s(lost a little importante file in /data/app/data), download and install reccuva(there are other that also may work, recuva glitches some times)and start it, select all files and where you lost you select your phone internal storage(yeah ,it needs to be plugged in the pc) and let it scan,if it dosent find anything, try activating deep scan mode(google it how to activate, i dont use recuva for a long time), and if dat still dosent work you can try another program.

[Q] restore a formated device?

urgent.. i was flashing the new factory image, and by a mistake did a fastboot format userdata, and as soon i hitted enter, i realised what i had done.. there was no way to cancle it..
so can any one think of a way to restore what was on my drive? its mostly some pictures and videos i am conserned about, becaus i dident get them copyed over.. yes i know my mistale.. but there must be a way? after all a format dosent delete anything, and in windows i have restored things from drives that were formated before, so shouldent this be possible aswell?
You can try a few programs that recover data but most times it will be corrupted. As you didn't just erase the info you formatted it and that is normally non recoverable

You would have to find an app to do it as no PC software will be able to do as it is not seen as USB storage. I dont know of any apps that can do this. Ill be honest with you. There is a 99% chance of nothing being able to bring the files back. Mainly if you finished flashing the device as then that part of the device has already been over written.
found this
http://www.recovering-deleted-files.net/android-data-recovery

Please provide more information. How did your photos disappear? Saying they're 'lost' isn't very informative.
To have your internal storage recognised, make sure before connecting your G2 to the PC you go Settings > PC Connection > Set USB connection method and set it to "Media Sync (MTP)". This will set up USB connectivity for transferring images, music, videos and documents.
Unless you give us any extra information about how the files got deleted, there isn't specific help we can give you.
so far what I can tell you:
if files got deleted by mistake... well, its easy then.
I suggest rooting your device - ioroot
Than install Undeleter
Try this and post us the outcome.

it wasn't by mistake, data deleted accidentally with unpluging usb cable .
is there any way instead of rooting?
Two things from my experience. First one has to be sure to select the correct mode for the USB connection and there may well be ".nomedia" files in directories where images are stored which would prevent say Gallery from seeing them.

for example remo programe for recovery can not detect my phone to recovery my images.
If you know some linux knowledge you can use testdisk. But you need to be rooted. DONT INSTALL AND DOWNLOAD ON THE PHONE any recovery programs . Because it overrite your old data. And all datas will be unrecoverable. Ioroot fine works (it just installs su and supersu.apk on system partition so it wont hurt your data.) Here is more info....
more info
If you want to download it as text it is here. from management.
Sorry for bad English..

I just said to you if you root your phone, you will probably recover your files but if you dont have root acces you can recover your some folders maybe it will be hurt. So you need to think which one is important "varranty of the phone or recoverable data". But maybe you recover some folders, not all via usb otg. It wont overwrite your old data so if you dont wanna be root (i really dont understand you why you dont wanna be root ) you must use some app on play store and recover your pics and others.. ))

[Q] Mac User - Android File Transfer not recognizing S7 edge

I must be doing something stupid, but no matter what combination of options I user in Developer Options and USB transfer type, AFT does not recognize the device and asked to restart or reattach. What am I missing? Thanks in advance. p.s. I made the switch from an iPhone and have forgotten most of the Android stuff I knew several years ago.

It unfortunately does not work.
Download Smart Switch from here: http://www.samsung.com/us/smart-switch/assets/downloads/SmartSwitch_Mac_setup.dmg
Once it has been downloaded, it will tell you to unlock your phone and connect it.
Once that has been done, click the down arrow beside "Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge"; You will see a folder beside Internal Memory, so click on that folder, and from here, it will look similar to Android File Transfer.
You should be able to drag and drop files into the folders, create new folders, move sh*t around, etc.
Thanks. I'll give it a shot. When I first used the other day I didn't see the file transfer capability, only the basic backup and restore functions.

Yeah unfortunately this is the only way I found to do it on a Mac.
Mac and Android don't really go well together
Worked perfectly. Too bad AFT doesn't work. I assume Google will update to support this phone. Again, thanks.
But Smart Switch is painfully slow in file transfer. There has got to be a way to get AFT working again. Mine just stopped, and when connecting the device, USB debugging on or off, the phone does not ask me if I want to allow the file transfer. I think mine stopped working after installing SideSync, and I never had Kies installed so that solution does not apply. This should not be rocket science!

GalaxyS10+ CAN'T transfer files via USB

this used to work just fine for me now i get on my phone when i start/restart widget can't load and for some reason i feel is connected to me not being able to transfer files from computer to the phone or the other way around .. Please help me on fixing this
Thank you! <3
ps i have another phone where file transfer works just fine
i guess its worth mentioning that this started after a software update, and right after that they released another one hopping they will fix it but NO :crying:
I was in your situation. I fixed that by install dex on my pc. I don't know if it will help but I think it's worth a try.

I forgot to mention that i already tried that and does not work .. i also looked at the supported devices and galaxy s10+ is not supported even tho for some people does work

Followed a very good youtube tutorial, but I am having some problems (Lumia 950 XL)

Like the subject says I am having a few problems.
I have a Lumia 950 XL, which I have just acquired.
My first problem is that I have no problem sideloading apps, but if I try to install too many I get this message "unable to install application. the maximum number of deveiloper applications on this phone has been reached. please uninstall a developer application or try again". I think it is letting me install about 10, but won't let me install anymore.
Ok My second problem is that I followed this tutorial on youtube, which I thought might fix my first problem
Seemed like a good tutorial but I had a couple of problems.
I installed Windows Universtal Toll (WUT). CMD Injector and Interop Tools (RC)
The problem was that the CMD Injector just shuts down when I click 'Inject'
Also in the Interop tools I can't turn on Inerop/Cap unlock or New Capability Engine Unlock. It just turns on again.
I hope someone can help me with these problems.
The first problem is the most annoying as I have tons of XAP files I would like to install
regards
Asimov
I have now realised what I did wrong. I followed the wrong tutorial for an x50 phone. Unfortunately I think I have now killed my phone as I ticked the option Restore NDTKSrvc and it won't turn off.
I tried following the following tutorial for doing the vcReg10 but it won't work because of the Restroe NDTKSrv. I think I have done something stupid, and now I can't even see my documents and pictures when I plug in my USB cable. I just see a pile of system files.

Ok I did a complete reset, so the phone is back to square one. Gonna redo the above tutorial before copying everything back to the phone.
Right I got the phone unlocked ok, but there is a but. I followed the above tutorial on how to unlock the phone and everything went fine. So then I downloaded WUT Windows Universal Tool, but here is the problem with it. It download to the download folder. For instance I downloaded TinyVNC, but if I try to install from the phone it don't install. However if I copy it back to my PC and install with WPV XAP deployer it works.
Can you tell me why I can't install straight from my phone?
I can double click and it says install, but it never installs.

Perhaps that's because along with the WUT you get a valid certificate (e.g. WUT_1.4.11.0_x64.cer) , which is missing from the phone.
