CyanogenMod 10.2 Available on 803 Canadian Bell G2 ?? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I am currently using the Canadian Bell LG G2 (803) and I was wondering if there is a compatible version of the CyanogenMod 10.2 for this version. I checked the forums and the CM site and it only seems to be available for the AT&T (800) and International (802) versions. If anyone knows where I can find a ROM that works with this version please let me know. Thank you in advance !

You can flash d800 or d802 just make sure you flash houstons d803 kernel afterwards.

I will try that, thank you for the feedback

I can confirm that the d802 cyanogen nightly will work with the d803 with Houstons kernel. Not sure if there's anything negative or broken though.

[Q] Canadian D803 custom rom

I noticed on the development forums, there was no custom rom that's compatible/being made for the Canadian variant.
Forgive my newb question but is this because the D803 version has a locked bootloader? And if it is locked, does that mean that we can't flash any custom roms on it?
If I can't make it looks nexus-y I think I really need to sell it asap.
Thanks!
I think we might be screwed for a while until things pick up in development

1. you can try D800 ROMs (ATT). They might work. You might want to start with mods first because they're relatively benign.
2. you can't flash custom ROMs like CM but there are many deodex/partly odex stock ROMs which definitely count as custom because they remove a lot of bloat and add features. So, you don't have to have an unlocked bootloader to flash ROMs. The only things that count are having TWRP (which i believe is loki-d for you) and root.
Unfortunately we may have to wait for FreeGee team to get an unlock going before we'll start seeing AOSP roms. Yes, the D803 has a locked BL, all versions of the G2, G, and G pro do. FreeGee unlocks it, but we don't have it yet.
Why do you need to make it nexus-y? if you minded it so much that you want to replace it just after you got it, why did you buy G2 in the first place? :silly: have patience, friend.
I do believe there's an extremely pre-alpha test of CM10.1 around here somewhere. EDIT: found it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2454417&highlight=cyanogenmod

You just got me super excited. How do we delete just the boot.img, just open the zip and take it out? recompile?
I am guessing if that works, then any at&t rom should work as long as we retain our own kernel.

Yup just open the zip on your computer, delete the boot.img, then transfer to your phone and flash. No issues at all, everything is working.

What does suck though is that most performance/battery enhancements come from kernel changes, and we are probably going to be left out in the dark :crying:
Since most variants of the G2 are almost identical hardware wise...here's hoping it'll turn out like HTC One, where you can freely "flash" to a different variant. *fingers crossed*

D803 ROMs
For any fellow Canadians still interested or confused, there are ROMs being developed for the D800 that the developers also made work with our D803.
Currently I'm running PARANOlDANDROID 3.99-RC2 and everything, including battery life is amazing!
houstonn is also doing some great work over here.
Just keep an eye the roms in the LG G2 AT&T developments section!
Currently I'm running PARANOlDANDROID 3.99-RC2 with a D803 on Rogers.
Everything works amazing, battery life is great. No complaints at all!
Cheers.

Which 4.4 rom offers tablet ui like Pac?

Hello been using Pac rom for a while and one feature keeps me stuck on Pac which is the tablet ui, with the notification bar at the bottom. Am so used to this feature but it appears as though Pac rom development has stalled for 4.4. Does anyone know any other rom that offers similar please?
Anyone please?
ParanoidAndroid has stock, phablet and tablet modes. Not sure if implemented on the beta version. Alternatively you can install xposed and there's a tablet UI module for it not sure how well it works though.

Otherwise u may try for 4.4.2 KOT49H which was compiled by Echoe rom developers

Thanks buddy I had a look at the exposed modules but they seemed a bit hit and miss. Also the latest beta version posted apparently did not have the tablet ui incorporate.

Flashed Wrong Kernal

Hi there, Currently running CloudyPro, Had SimpleKernal, And downloaded Dori mistakenly thinking it was for KitKat.
I can get into RecoveryMode, And download mode.
Have LG G2 D802, Is there any possible way to push files onto my internal storage?
Please help
Try odin recovery and go back to stock. Then flash a custom kernel

Hi there, Thanks for the reply.
I'm quite new to this, I have downloaded odin, Do you mean stock rom or stock kernel? And how can I get these files?
Thanks
Odin uses 3 to 4 files. All tar archives. Google them or look for them in xda. Look for the ones that are for your phones. Then read the instructions that came with it carefully.
Or you can flash a rom. Download a zip and flash it. Look for a "stock" rom in the lg g2 forum or you can try a custom rom

[KERNEL][4.4.2/.4][*Stock Kernel -4.4.2 & 4.4.4(Arter's) Based TW ROMS*][i9300][16/1]
Stock Kernel For 4.4.2 and 4.4.4(Arter's ported) Touchwiz Based Roms For Our Samsung Galaxy SIII
Now No More Flashing The Whole Rom Again And Again To Get The Stock Kernel
Feature:-
All 4.4.2 and 4.4.4(Arter's ported) TouchWiz based ROM supported(Personally sure about QS based ROMS).
Supported Devices:-
Only Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-i9300(International Version).
1.Why did I port this kernel?
Ans. I wanted move from Boeffla kernel beta 6 to Archikernel V1.5.2 but i was unable to do so cause as we all know Archikernel uses "Anykernel" Method and I didn't want to flash the whole ROM again since I had debloated the ROM of my own by spending my precious time.
2.Does it support all 4.4.2 and 4.4.4 kernels?
Ans. Hope so. Yes it supports.
3.What to expect?
Ans.Best compatibility for all kernels(4.4.2 and 4.4.4).
4.What not to expect?
Ans.New versions. Because it is complete stock and quite bug free too and this is only for having stock kernel back so that you can flash other kernels without having any bug(except kernel bugs) and I dont have that much of time to work on it.
Warning:- I and other kernel developers are not at all responsible if anything wrong happens with you and your SIII.
Download Information:-
1.) Stock_Kernel_AP_4.4.2 is for 4.4.2 touchwiz based ROMs!
2.)Stock_Kernel_AP_4.4.4 is for Arter's ported 4.4.4 V5 based ROMs!
3.) Stock_Kernel_AP_4.4.4_V6 is for Arter's ported 4.4.4 V6 based ROMs!

I am using Blekota Note 4 V3 ROM
And
From my personal experience
Stock kernel is better in terms of battery life and also good in performance..
Arter's 4.0 beta6 is also not bad... but lil less battery backup than stock kernel...
Go for Boeffla kernel v7.3! Best one!

Nameless ROM + Marshmallow sounds like a very nice combo, but apparently Nameless ROM also has a 5.1.1 version available too.. So that is cool!

4.4.4 had some pretty thorough themes made for it. If you are looking for a rom to customize yourself I like Alliance. It wa's simple with the roms built in ui. Tekhd was also themed by pappa mag. His themes we also done well. Notification panel and dialer and toggles. Only issue I had was my gear vr wouldn't play Netflix without getting really bad av sync issues... drove me crazy... went to stock mm and then to overdrive 2.0.1 I think.. and everything is fine.. but there aren't any themes to flash for it so it looks stock for the time being....
