Ok i having been looking at this phone for a while and i just wanted to get some feedback from owners. How does it feel in your hand how is the speed all that info will be great. One big problem is that i cant go to a tmobile store and mess with the phone and if i order it and dont like it i have to play a $45 dollar restocking fee. so your input will be great
Got nothing but praise for your criteria... seems the right size for my hand, and well built. Just enough weight to it to not feel cheap.
Speed is very good coming from a Nokia N95, so probably not the best person to judge. In general, it's bloody good. My first Android phone but didn't take a lot of getting used to.
It has occasional (rare) keyboard oddness, although that seems par for the course to be honest, and a quick lock/unlock is all that's needed to sort it.
This phone is amazing. It is really fast and I never have any lag. The stock ROM on it only supports 256 RAM atm, but Cyanogen has the himem kernal in his build. The phone is really light and very thin. The phone has a nice texture to it and the screen is amazing. The soft keys can get a little annoying at time but its not something that would stop me from loving this phone. The pictures it takes are very good and the video is better than most phones I have had in the past. The LED flash is super bright and helps take nice pics when its dark. One other gripe I have is, if you want to take out the micro sd card you have to remove the battery. Hope this helps you decide.
the phone feels awesome! my hands feel soothed and at peace when they are holding the phone... bout the only way i can describe it
its by far the best phone i've ever owned (iphone 3G, BB Bold, Nokia E71, HTC Magic) in terms of build quality. It is one of the fastest phones on the market right now, and it is absolutely evident in the software and the overall snappiness. The back of the phone is a soft-touch rubbery type of material on the back. There are metallic accents and the screen is unbeatable. When I first looked at the screen when I opened it was amazing. When you look back at your old phone is where you will see the difference. The Nexus will make any phone you've owned look washed out and low-res. Overall, I'm happy I bought the phone.
It does suck that you can't go to Tmo and test one out and there are no "google or htc stores". which brings me to my first problem with the phone. If something goes wrong with it you have to pack it up, go through a gauntlet of phone calls, send it in, and wait for your money back.
Second problem (and I'm not sure if it's widespread or just me) is the power button. It gets stuck and is not very sensitive. It has the same function as the iPhone's button. It turns on the phone and puts it into sleep mode. Mine is completely stuck and takes me several hard pushes to get it to react. It may just be my phone, but with any technology there will be some risk I guess.
Other than that it's a great phone. If you plan on rooting with it then add an extra 2000% more awesomeness.
Hope that helped a little.
cheers
Best, Fastest, & Coolest device I have owned (and I have owned a few)
I'm running mine totally stock. I can tell you that when I was messing around with my G1 a couple days ago, which runs SuperD (arguably the fastest G1 ROM), I found myself waiting for apps to open or screens to switch... what I'm saying is that the N1's speed will spoil you.
hands down the best phone ive ever owned.. and ive owned quite a few.. i absolutely love the speed.. the feel.. weight.. battery life could be a touch better but im not complaining.. its much better than the G1.. which this thing trumps it in every category... i actually enjoy using the v keyboard .. dont miss the hard keyboard at all... you wont be dissappointed
Honestly I think it's too slippery some of my friends almost dropped it x_x. So now I don't like anyone to use it if i don't have the case on.
I am concern about all of these keyboard/buttons malfunctions. There has been a lot of talk about the 3Gfix. Are they fixing these touch screen problem or are they just eeeee.
Also is it possible to use this phone without data plan? Just use wifi for data? I am not into paying $30, while I am surrounded by WiFi for a good part of my day. Anyone comment on the suitability of the Wifi?

The wifi has been all good to me. And I know you can use it without a data plan tho only if you pay the full price.

Fit & Finish
I have bigger hands (XL size gloves), I find the N1 to be a great fit. I can comfortably and securely hold the phone with one hand, while also using just my thumb to do pretty much everything.
Speed?
Impressive indeed. Windows and apps already open are near instantaneous to switch to, and opening an app fresh is still satisfyingly fast.
Screen
Along with the crisp colors and excellent contrast, a BIG plus not to be missed is the resolution (480x800). At that rez, the level of sharpness and detail is fantastic.
To be fair, there's also been a large amount of frustration and complaints...Most notably spotty 3G performance. If you haven't already, you should also check out the Google Help Forums to get an idea of what people are complaining about. For me though, I've had no issues.

Some people said that their Wifi do not reconnect automatically when they turn it on. Any problem you have with that? it is kinda of important for that to be automatic if I use it as my "data plan"

I have had mixed results with it auto connecting. Sometimes it will without a hitch, and sometimes it will make me manually do it.
Love this phone. I have had the iphone 3g, iphone 3gs, g1, palm pre, sprint cdma hero, and now the nexus one. The nexus one is by far the best of all of them. It does have some things that make me grumble like the soft keyboard but with all the alternat keyboards its not hard to find something to make you content.
The screen and the feel in the hand are the best features about this device. It is smoking fast but with a screen like this I am happy to wait and stare.

Hello Folks,
I am posting this thread after a very long time on XDA as I was not using any HTC device.I was using Iphone since it was launched in USA.Now I bought 3 nexus one for me and my family with very high hopes but after iserting my simcard into it since last week I am very much disappoined.beside other samll issues like less responsive touch screen the problem I am having is a cellular signal. I am using this phone in the same area where I was using my 3gs phone and it was giving me full bars. And with nexus one I am having a really hard time to get signals some time even no signal and my calls are being missed/droped.I believe due to this problem battey life of the device is not impressive. And that was the main reason of quitting Iphone as I wanted multitasking device with better bettery life.I spoke to nexus one support line for few times their response was good but I it did not help me as I am having same problem although they offered me to replace device.but the thing is I already have 3 devices and if they are giving me same problem.
All I am hopping is a new upgrade to fix this issuse and I have no idea if this gona be fixed with the software upgrade?.
Idea of this thread is to get feedback from other folks using ATT/Rogers version of Nexus one specially in Canada/Western Canada. And any advise /help form my experts folks in this respect.
Your taking time in reading this is much appreciated.
May Almighty Bless you all.
Thanks.
Unfortunately what they're saying is:
http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/22/google-no-longer-investigating-fix-for-nexus-one-3g-issues-ad/
I'm in Manitoba, Canada, this is my first 3G phone so I don't have much to compare to. I've had maybe a couple calls dropped, but doesn't seem that bad...
However, I did try using the app called Antennas and everywhere in my city it always says "3g support is very limited"
I'm in western Canada using the Nexus One as well, and I too switched from an iPhone 3G. My initial impression was similar to your's where I felt like the touch screen wasn't as responsive and signal not as strong. As time passed I quickly forgot about all that and with the exception of the awkward response area of the bottom buttons, I'm starting to think that the N1's touchscreen is actually better for some stuff. I still wish Android had inertial scrolling with the snap-back effect like the iPhone though.
When Opera Mini came out for the iPhone I put my sim card back into it so that I could try it out, and after the end of the day I couldn't wait to get back to the N1. I don't know about your usage, but when I have push Gmail setup on the iPhone I can't make it through a day without on a single charge, so I think the N1 battery is much better.
Signal strength felt poor at first, but I think that's just because of how it's reported by each phone. The iPhone seems much more generous and will show more bars for the same signal strength as the N1. The only thing that still bugs me now is how much effect my hand has when holding the phone near the bottom. Never did I have to think about hand placement with the iPhone, but I've adapted to that now.
Im from western canada too, medicine hat to be exact. I, as you all, came from an iphone. I had a 16gb 3gs. Where i work the receiption is horrible. With the iphone i would have to have the phone placed on a certain corner of my desk to make sure i got signal.
With the nexus, its slightly better. I get minimum signal but its constant thoughout my office.
Compaired to a iphone, this phone is the cats meow. I love the nexus and will never be returning to an iphone again. It has a better screen, more responsive touch, is fully customizable and i get ~28 hours of battery. Thats right, 28 hours. Not 6 if im lucky like the iphone.
I have the AT&T N1 which also supports Rogers and I am on Fido in Vancouver,
(it also uses Roger's network) ,
Mine experience with the signal is awesome in my case, 95% of the time i am getting H, and 5% of the time it drops to 3G (mostly when I am doing nothing) but will quickly switch back to H when I start to use it again. I have not seen it with E yet.
I have tried it with WCDMA perfered, WCDMA only, now I am on GSM Auto(PRL) and it doesn't make any differences on internet speed according to my speedtest app, it's usually around 1Mb ~1.4Mb....occasionaly it drops to 600kb for one test.
The only problem I have is I am unable to achieve the 1% / hour battery drop rate some people are claiming even with the help with juicedefender and UV/AVS kernels......
Hi Folks ,
I really appreciate all of you for your feedback and advise.I hope that more peoples will share their experience here. One thing I would also like to share is that I am using home rom and did not go for bootloader unlocking and on my phone problem I have is with the cellular signal.my data signal is always on 3g as I am in city of Calgary. My son got his nexus one bootloader unlocked and installed ceynogen 5.06 rom installed I used his phone aslo for a day and only difference I noticed is that it shows "H" when u do browsing on data and otherwise is stay 3g.but with home it always show " 3G " sign and never to to "H" .but when you check details of connection it tell you that it is connected HSDPA.
If anyone else noticed the same? or anyone else getting H sign with home rom?
your views/experience regarding Home vs Ceynogen rom are also appreciated.
I am still looking for the actual benifit of having ceynogen rom over home?as I did not see any difference.
Thanks once again.
My Bell service sucks, but it's Bell so it normally sucks anyways.

No, that's been discussed a lot. The stock rom never shows an H. And the custom roms only show an H when actually downloading data. Otherwise it always idles on 3G.
On your stock it does the same, idles on 3G, and switches to H for download. But there is no icon for it.
Why are you posting the same thing it two different forums?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=676479
Anyway, on the stock ROM the 3G icon doesn't change to H like it does on cyanogen and others. It still connects at the same speeds though.
yeh, I am posting in two different forums, as I was not sure where to go.Thanks for your feedback. Its helping me a lot.
Thanks once again.
Only other phones I have to compare to are my Curve 8900 and my HTC Magic. With ANY phone in my apartment there are areas with shoddy reception due to having concrete walls in an older building. To be honest with you my N1 has been the same, if not better than any of my other phones in this building. In the hall, it's inevitable that it will cut off. In my apartment I can get reception anywhere, which is more than I can say for my girlfriend's Samsung and some other friend's phones in the building. We all use Rogers, by the way. And I'm in Toronto.
Not that there was a whole lot of differences, if any, in manufacturing as time went on (aside from the whole dust under the screen issues), but.. when did you get your N1's?
Jim
Well, I really wanted to love this new G2. I gave it a shot. I really did. But after all the things that annoyed me (below) I decided to go back to my Nexus One, since it's really not *that* much of an upgrade. Luckily I was in my buyer's remorse period. Here's what annoyed me:
- Constant crashing in low signal area
- Apps crashing (I'm lucky I woke up early today because I set an alarm, but instead woke up to a red triangle on a crashed and hung phone)
- Sub-par GPS (mine seemed to take forever to connect)
- Weak hinge (though I do love the hinge idea)
- Crinkly button keyboards (a couple keys sounded weird when pressed)
- Dead pixels on two different G2's
- Wonky app behavior (couldn't read an email msg yesterday without rebooting)
- Lack of USB tethering or WiFi hotspot without root
- A little too heavy for me (though the build is nice)
- No fancy neoprene case like my N1
I went through 3 G2s. TMobile helped me out along the way. I do like the G2 and I'm sure some of this stuff will be fixed with OTAs. Oh well...at least I can upgrade to the next best thing down the line.

You can use pdanet to usb tether without root.
But, to be honest I'm in the same boat as well. I like the g2 a lot but I am also in my buyers remorse. So I'm considering returning it and sticking with my vibrant. Not sure yet...

Haven't had any of the issues you describe above (other than the weak hinge, weight and no case, ofc). I've never experienced it myself, but i'd surely be interested in finding out what the red triangle thing is all about. The other thread never got to the bottom of the matter.
The one thing I like about the G2 that is really a marked improvement over the Nexus One is the radio/antenna. Unfortunately T-mo being T-mo, there is still the occasional drop back to EDGE, but overall I seem to stay connected to 3G/3.5G much more, with more responsive download speeds. ymmv of course.
Never had any problems with my G2. In fact I love it. As far as the tether (lack of) I'm sure the g2 will get it. I believe there is a reason we have less than the promised 4gig of internal memory. (future updates) my g2 its fast and the occasional switch to edge is a tmo issue not the phone itself. But if you have an n1 you should still be satisfied. I'm staying with the g2 because I see some great things coming for it in future updates.

The G2s must have hit or miss build quality, because mine's fine. I haven't had the problems that everyone seems to be complaining about. I can't wait until the complaints go away or dwindle either because they've been fixed, or the complainers move on to the next phone.
Theirs always complaints when phones come out. Nothing new. Same thing happend with the vibrant. Then vibrant people got the g2... now they complain about the g2... then their gonna go to the new mytouch hd... I'm sure they will complain about that and move onto something else. Endless cycle
Personally I have issues with mine but its mostly software. Which I'm waiting for a update I'm sure will soon come out for a fix. None the less the g2 is the best phone I've owned and I have no regrets with it.

I also wanted to get G2, but no native tethering support disqualified even I can purchase PDAnet.
I tried both (easytether and PDAnet) and both don't support cradlepoint router, so there's NO WAY to tether wirelessly without rooting.
Nexus One, on the other hand, is one of my favorite daily phone. It can be rooted easily, but I found the cleanness within even I don't need to root. Frankly, if Nexus One has more internal storage (>512MB for applications), I even wanted to buy one more!

Doesn't support cradlepoint?
Only issues I've had with PDANet is setting to HTTPS sites... mainly because I'm too cheap to pay for the full version, lol.
Yeah I think it's the heft that turned me off along with the hardware/software problems I had. The N1 is just so thin and sleek. I used the G2 keyboard sometimes but really only just to play Quake3 (by the way if you turn mouse sensitivity way up it's quite playable with the touchscreen or trackpad). And I played around with one-click root and wifi tethering for my iPod which actually worked pretty well I must say. But like I said, the N1 man...awesome phone. Looking forward to blindtype.
Sorry to hear you had so many things go wrong. I'm very happy with mine and have had no issues at all. Seems like some people have no problems, and others just can't get a good working phone.

interesting. im beginning to like the g2 more than my n1. ive only had the phone since last friday, but ive not had it crash once. in fact, aside from the reboot when i swapped out sdcards, its been up and going 24/7. no weird app issues either. my hinge is nice and tight as well. i never used the tethering/hotspot on my n1 so im not missing much there.
its a little weighty but no overly so. my only gripe is no holsters/beltclips available yet. im stuck carrying it in my pocket for now. things i like over my n1 include zippyness (feels a bit more fluid moving around the phone), better screen sensitivity (thought the n1 wasnt bad, it sometimes has quirks), readable in the sun and in my car dock, and im really starting to dig the physical keyboard.
Surprisingly I like the g2 more than my nexus. its faster, cooler, and I love the keyboard. The nexus is an awesome phone but it looks like I'm sticking with the g2.
Btw I'm running enomthers rooted rom. I've had one spontaneous reboot. Tether works perfectly. No bloatware.

The more I read, the more it seems that it is mostly hit or miss quality. My G2 has great battery life, hasn't had one force close, the GPS locks on within 5 seconds while inside, etc. It does however have a couple specks of dust under the screen, a stuck pixel and the standard issues (Although I just use my G1 case with it, which it seems to fit in better than the G1 did.).
Wow, bad luck must have hit you hard.

You should root with visionary. Not only just a temporary root. You can root and unroot at the push of a button when you want. If a ota comes out just press one button and you unroot. Feel like tethering one day. Press one button and your tethering. You will see quite a bit more from the g2 in the future trust me. I've head things so if you can hold on to your g2 brother do it. Just a little advice from one who knows

I would exchange if I were you. I expect a device to be in perfect working order when I buy it. "Occasional" freezes are unacceptable - it won't get better with time (only worse.)

Crashing issue: FIXED
App Crash: FIXED
GPS: ON POINT within 10 seconds
Tethering and Hotspot: FIXED (after OTA)
A few of the design/hardware issues are obviously unable to be addressed, but my G2 is the illest phone I've ever owned. You should have hung on to it. It's definitely an upgrade from the N1.
I need a solid (tmobile) phone off contract. I am aware the g2 is almost a year old... on ebay good units are going for $230-ish, and I'm unwilling to shell out $400+ on a device that'll depreciate by 50% within a year. This leaves the G2 and the samsung vibrant, and the vibrant subforums tell me that development is all but dead for that device. If you have any other suggestions for phones in my price range (<300ish) then please do let me know.
I've been a long time user of the OG G1/dream, so I'm looking for something with an active dev community and some choices when it comes to fast and stable roms. How are the roms that you folks are running on your G2's?
Any common hardware issues with roms (like gps)?
Are some units unrootable? What should I look for when I'm buying a used device? What's S-off?
Please excuse all the questions. I appreciate your help.
Yes, I would reccomend the HTC Vision (G2). S-OFF means security off, or on (S-ON), as the case may be. Development is anything but dead for this device, IMHO. There exist rooting guides regardless of your current Android version and plenty of different ROMs. Although you will have to downgrade from the official 2.3 update, if need be. But again, there are excellent guides here on XDA. That's my 2 cents.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Just as stated above the downgrade guide worked for me I traded a g2x for a g2 plus cash due to developement being almost non existant and as its a downgrade in performance its an upgrade in developement. This phone is great you might wanna look into buying a new spring for whatever usedg2 you buy I ordered mine today and you can pick up a used g2 for as little as 80$ with no battery or back cover on craigslist. But they run for around 100 to 200 in houston I wouldn't spend more than 200 for this phone just cause its a tad old my opinion hope I helped
I own a G2 and a vibrant, but I use my G2 because it is a bit more compact, has keyboard, has better call quality and slightly better battery life. I keep the vibrant as backup (we use it on wifi and call it the mini tablet)
The G2 is more complicated to root than vibrant (needs adb), but I've succesfully rooted mine from 2.2 and my wife's from 2.3.4. The samsung merely required downloading a couple things on my computer, then a one click root. We both currently run MIUI ROM because we like the abundance of themes, options and better than stock battery life.
My wife's phone did succumb to the black screen issue known with G2s, luckily it was still under HTC 1 year warranty. That was how I had to learn to root 2.3.4 once we got the phone back.
The biggest issue I've had with the samsung was missing calls. It was having issues maintaing signal in my house. My G1 had no issue, and my G2 is better than the vibrant. The vibrant is very thin, amazingly thin.
Hope that helps.

i downgraded my Desire Z about 2 days ago and its all rooted now, im definatly no expert on the subject but the guides i used worked fine for me as long as you can follow instructions
oh and as a tip from a noobie
* copying items per usual CTRL + C will take you out of shell remember that copying in CMD can be done by pressing the ENTER key.
that was the reason i screwed up first time xD
desire Z is great only the battery life has bugged me so far.

$230 is too much. I see them on craigslist frequently in the $150-180 range. it's still worth it, but why pay %50 more if you don't have to ?
the g1 is a great device. reliability has been great for ours. my son uses a g1 and it might get reboot once every 3 months, constant wifi, and used mostly for youtube and as a camera. the g2 is a better device. much much faster, in every way.
i don't know of a gps issue. both of ours pick up GPS in 3-4 seconds unless we're in a canyon. takes longer then.
all units are rootable. there is a section here http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Vision#Rooting_the_G2 that should be exactly what you need to complete root.
i would suggest checking the camera lense with a bright light very carefully. mine has a hairline crack, and it effects some photos depending on orientaion. i bought it USED, as I do everything. exchanged a couple of them for different hardware problems, but most likely related to hard use (women).
i use cyanogenmod 'nightlies' on mine. they're very fast, stable, and feature packed.
also, the reasons we'll be sticking with G2's for the extended future:
excellent camera
dedicated camera button
dedicated volume rocker
sensible headphone jack placement
very good cellular signals
very good wifi signals
very good bluetooth (map transfers in the woods with no data available on cellular)
the hardware keyboard is EXCELLENT < this alone is a deciding factor, it's very very good, and we are hardware people. no touch screen keyboard can compare in our opinion.
very good battery life: EDGE and underclocking agressively means no charging needed on camping trips, and LOTS of pictures
also 720p HD video capable. it's very good quality.
excellent noise cancelling
excellent call quality
loud external speaker
good luck !
If you're buying a used one, test everything you can before you lay down the cash!
Bring along some earphones, plug them in and make sure you can hear audio (tests the audio jack)
If possible, Bring along a microUSB cable and plug the phone into a PC. Make sure the phone charges and is recognized by the PC. Put the phone into USB mode and make sure you see the contents of the phone's SD Card (tests the USB connector)
If an micro SD card isn't included, bring one alone and test it on the phone. Somethimes the connector gets trashed.
Test the physical keyboard, make sure each key registers.
If possible, test the SIM slot too -- plug in a good SIM card and make sure there's no error.
Slide the keyboard open and closed repeatedly. make sure the screen doesn't act strangely (flickering could be a sign of a bad connector cable)
What else?
I don't think "women" are responsible for hardware issues with your phone, ohgood.
And to the OP, there are known GPS issues. Not everyone has them, and there are fixes out there. So, although it is a known issue, it should not be a deal breaker. I just upgraded radios, installed the stock HTC GPS drivers (on an AOSP ROM), and GPS locks in 5 seconds and stays that way for hours while using navigation. Granted all these things were not necessary, but they have improved my cell & GPS signals.
It is truly a great phone, had mine since january and don't regret it one bit
PROS-fast,never lags, now has android 2.3,good screen size & quality, every app I ever dl works great with the G2,great camera and video, battery can be great if u add apps such as an app killer & 2g-4g switch(I can easily go a full day on heavy use switched on 2g then I just switch it to 4g when using internet browing) & an awsome keyboard.
Only CONS in my opinion are- kinda on the heavy side & thick (advantages of having a hardware keyboard) & I feel it lacks a front facing camera
Hope this helps

Great phone, had mine for about a week. I like the keyboard and once you get used to it you can type pretty fast, overall the device is pretty snappy and works well. The z hinge is okay, there is a bit of shake when the device is closed and youre using the touch screen, and my device has a bit of dust under the screen. I paid 320 AUD for mine brand new, I haven't rooted it and I'm running stock gingerbread with HTC sense

A perfect phone.... I donno why but I feel the keys a bit harder... and the missing front camera.
Hi,
I'm a fresh user of this device (bought it new a week ago on contract) and I absolutely love the keyboard. I was a G1 user that switched to iP4 but lasted only 7 months. Physical keys are a must I do agree that front cam would be nice but since it's not a feature I would use on a daily basis then I agreed to the fact. Battery isn't awesome but lasts a day. Great signal strenght, wifi locks and holds nicely, havent had a chance to test GPS.
So far on stock 2.3.4 but dunno for how long

Beyond worth it phone. To my knowledge, its the fastest single core phone with the best battery life. U heard the guy testimonial on taking it camping. On an AOSP rom, 4g/3g, bluetooth, gps, wifi off, it uses next to no power. I mean its sick. Ive tested it and left it sitting alone for 2days and came back to it saying 99% battery.
Pros:
Its safely overclocked to 1.2GHz because Processor was designed to run at 1GHz
Keyboard (Includes 3 shortcut buttons. +2more if ya use the search button too)
Camera quality
Huge active developing community
Quality materials, I mean its solid built, no denying that.
Runs every app I throw at it with no issues.
Superb wireless quality (Signal (3g/4g/Calls), wifi, gps, bluetooth are just AWESOME)
Rocker is the right size, sensitivity (Mentioned because its perfect for at work and changing songs w/o the need to take it out my pocket ^_^ )
Headphone jack is solid (Had a Moto Cliq that was iffy)
Cons:
No front facing camera (Honestly those who have it, rarely use it cause U can just call the person)
Only 2 Color indicator
Hefty/Weight (To me a benefit cause it dont fall out or drop)
Lil outdated manufactor wise.
I honestly dont feel its outdated tho because any experienced android user will tell ya. Getting the first batch of a new technology has downfalls 1/2 - 1year later. Case in point, all the buyers of the first Dual-Core phones envy those who got the Dual-Core and 3d after less then a year later. My thing is, Ill wait until the 3d been fine tuned a bit and I bet it will be perfected.
2more things. It has a KEYBOARD. The wireless in it is beyond great. I never had a dropped call, problem with gps, wifi or bluetooth. In fact I hook my bluetooth up to my radio and can walk 15 feet away w/o a problem. I enjoyed it when I can go in my trunk, adjust my "thump in the trunk" and change the volume/song wirelessly.
I've read that more than one person are experiencing WiFi connectivity issues with this tablet either that the antennas don't have a good reception or that the signal gets cut off, do you also experience anything like it or its working perfectly fine for you good WiFi just like what you got on your smartphone?
Thank you
No issue on mine so far

Thanks a million
The wifi on my device is great. It's a bit better than my Nexus 7 2013.
The whole device experience so far is butter. It's annoying how the update that lets you remove the navigation bar,now keeps you from operating split screen, because without the square to long hold,i don't know how else you can activate it.
Thank you guys
I know this is an old thread but a note that if you are rooted in the US you can enable 5Ghz wifi connections through build.prop edit.
I have the US version and its slow. less than half the speed of my 2.5 year old note pro 12.2 and gs7. 50% slower than first gen nvidia shield tablet. I called support and they were very uninformed.
I'm having the same issue. Just performed a speed test at a coffee house. LG G6 get 50 download, 5 year old Chromebook gets a 20+, Huawei Mediapad barely gets a 3. I've done the same test at various coffee houses and it's always the same.
