Can Anyone Mount Their USB-OTG Media in Recovery Mode - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I seem to not be able to get a clear, straight answer to this question without various suggestions that simply do not answer the question:
When in Recovery Mode....TWRP or CWM, can you mount usb-otg media? I have both a plain old usb-otg cable with usb flash drives or the slick Meenova. There is no way to mount them to do backups directly to them.
Just looking for confirmation that this is indeed the case.
Thank you.

[Q] Mounting partitions

Hi, this is how my card is partitioned.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10913656/xda/partitions.jpg
This is df -h output on my nook.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10913656/xda/20111120230332.png
Now i would like to mount the large partition so i can use it as storage, and when i connect nook via usb to my pc, that it shows there too, as it is fat. I have searched the forums up and down, couldnt find a straight answer.
I guess i can mount the partition, but to make it permanent, i have to edit the fstab file too i guess.
Any how to, or post here on forums you can point me to. Or a short explanation, i would appreciate it.

Unable to mount USB in TWRP Recovery

New to Nexus 7. I was under the impression one could mount USB internal storage in TWRP for transfering fo ROM files without having to reboot
I cannot check the box, getting

Does the Nexus 7 even allow USB OTG flash drives when booted?

OUDHS Touch CWM-based Recovery 1.0.3.5 and USB computer

Does anyone know if there is anyway to have the USB turn on/off in CWM-based Recovery 1.0.3.5 recovery, so that your computer can see the phone sd card while you are in recovery?
I tried option mount and storage -> mount /external_sd but that doesnt make the computer see it during recovery.
Not sure if there is any other options that I am missing.
Basically I mean the following fetures I saw in CWM wiki...
mount USB storage: lets you enable USB mass storage mode for your SD card right from recovery so that you can connect it to your computer via USB and transfer any files to/from it without having to leave recovery
Thanks in advance.
I want to know also

Are you using ADB to check out your Sd Card? ADB will work when you are in recovery. You can navigate to sd and use push our pull commands to move stuff around. Is this what you are looking for?

Read the OUDHS thread. It clearly mentions where it is.

I'm not sure about OUDHS, but Philz touch CWM (in Original development) claims it allows for it. The I337 doesn't support Mass USB storage by default so it has to be an added feature for this phone.

[Q] Can't mount sdcard in CWM 6.0.4.4. Help!

Guys, all of a sudden CWM can't mount the sdcard. I wiped the data in order to install Vanir's ROM. I was previously on Rayglobe's. Is there anyway to come outta this? I'm desperate guys, please help me. I don't want this costly phone to become a brick! It's D802 BTW.

Sorry, correct me if my knowledge was wrong - but how u want to mount a SD-Card when the phone has no slot for it?
Hi,
Yes, you can't mount sdcard in recovery with phones without sdcard (the recovery can't mount the link to the internal memory, even if it's called sdcard), if you have an USB OTG cable you can mount your external sdcard and make backup or put into it some flashable zip's...
If you wiped data, why you want to mount your sdcard , you have your rom in the internal memory so just flash it...

Internal storage is named "sdcard", even though that doesn't make any sense. I've Nexus 4 and it shows the same thing too.

I used to flash other ROMs through "sdcard" from CWM menu before, it was working perfectly until now. There's also "external_sdcard" sub-menu too.

Hum... No need to mount your sdcard to flash your rom... Like I said external sdcard is if you use an USB OTG cable, it's the link for your external USB storage.
In CWM navigate to the sdcard then where you put your rom, simple...
But if you wiped your sdcard in recovery, it will be harder for sure...
Or I don't understand what you mean
So I flashed TWRP D802 ver. from Flashify, but now I can't even do a factory reset as it says that it cannot mount /data. Now I can't wipe nor can I install a zip from TWRP. Please help me.
Just flash stock. Go to general section. "Go back to stock"

Native OTG USB Storage on Nexus Player?

Has anyone been able to get Native OTG USB Storage working on the Nexus Player? By this I mean actual mods to the system not by using third party apps. I know CM12.1 has the mount/mount USB Storage and move app to USB Storage options but neither of these actually work yet. Are there any other devices that has this functional that can be cherry picked from for a quick patch to CM12.1 to enable this function? As most of you are aware the Nexus Player is pretty limited with storage so allowing us to use USB Flash drives over OTG to store apps and their data would be very helpful.

Yeah it mounts the drives now but it's still broken and doesn't let you transfer apps to it but dhacker29 is looking into it to fix it.
I've tried to get this working, I can get external storage mounted manually but so far had no luck getting it mounted on boot. My first issue was that after rooting, there was no space left on the /system partition, so busybox failed to install properly. After deleting the korean and japanese IMEs I was able to get busybox installed.
I have an otg hub, with a microSD slot, the card gets recognized by the system as /dev/block/sda and I can mount the partition using busybox mount, but trying to mount it from /etc/install-recovery.sh or /etc/install-recovery-2.sh doesn't work, so I'm not sure if by then the mount point is available.
I know this can be fixed using some other tool (like rom toolbox pro) but I'd love to get this working without them, so if anyone has been able to get it working, please help!

USB Mounting and moving Apps to USB Storage works in the latest build of CM12.1 Edit: I also found a great app Link2sd to move the data and obb folders too.
Where exactly do I find the options in CM12.1? In the leanback settings or the regular settings accessible via the App Drawer?
