[Q] CWM Won't work properly - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,
I am using the DROID RAZR M Utility 1.20, as posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2249773
I also followed the youtube video of it, as posted here:
http://youtu.be/ej7HBxvNPv0 (The video is actually for the Razr HD but the process is basically the same.)
Here is what I did.
Powered up phone in AP Fast Boot, and did step 1.) Flash 4.1.2 Stock System.
Then rebooted phone into Normal Mode (USB Debugger is on) and ran option 5.) Motochopper Root Exploit.
It rooted successfully.
Ten i ran Step 6.) Unlock Bootloader (Motopocalypse), ran the App, and it says it was successful.
Then I Ran step 4. ) Flash CWM Custom Recovery.
after this i rebooted the phone and went into the Recovery mode, but the only thing im getting is the little android on his back with the alert sign:

I am not sure what to do next? I am trying to load the Cyanogenmod onto this Droid Razr M, but safestrap evidently is not going to do it for me.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

quick update..
Appears that Step6 is not working.
After rebooting into AP Fastboot, it says the Device is Locked.
Anyother tools out there to unlock the bootloader?

Motopocalypse is the only tool to unlock the BL. You can find it stand-alone if you do a quick Google search. However, if you were on the latest update, you won't be able to unlock your BL, even if you revert back to the older version. You can root with Motochopper 1.3, though.
Also, that screen is the stock recovery screen. When you're in that screen, hold vol down and tap vol up to get into recovery. If in fact you can unlock your bootloader and you succeed and you flash CWM recovery, you'll need to reboot immediately into recovery so the CWM updater script can finish its install. Otherwise, the stock recovery will override.

So if the phone has ever been updated OTA to the latest version, unlocking the bootloader is a lost cause?
That really sticks because i think this phone was updated.
I have verified the phone is rooted - otherwise safestrap wouldn't work.
So phone is rooted - what your saying is, using that tool - run the CWM Script, then reboot the phone and go directly to the recovery screen, then hold the Volume Down button, then press the Volume Up button..?
I will give this a try.
Thanks!

Yeah, unfortunately, if it was ever updated, you can't unlock the BL. Even reverting back still won't open the "trusted zone." You can verify if Motopocalypse worked by booting back into the Fastboot screen. It should say the phone's unlocked. If you can get it unlocked, then yeah, immediately power off phone after flashing recovery and then reboot straight into recovery. If script ran as it should, you should boot straight into CWM.

Well i think im at a dead-end. :-/
Fastboot keeps saying Device is LOCKED. I cannot get it to unlock... Argh!
Any other way ? Is it possible to revert or modify the "trusted zone"?

Nope, no way to unlock and the man Dan said there's probably no chance to unlock.

Thanks friend :good:
i saw this issue with my friend´s n4.
he re flashed stock 4.2(yea 4.2, google it, its not 4.2.2) and tried again doin fastboot oem unlock and then fastboot format userdata.
but if dosent work, you can reflash the n4 using lgnpst. or even flash the beta bootloader found on n4´s .tot.
if still dosent work i can make a system.img with root so you can use one of those apps to unlock it.

well then it seems your internal memory is fried, since it can't even wipe the phone. or its a corruption from a failed wipe made by the bootloader. since its still locked, you can't really do much with the bootloader... just stating facts here

Cannot restore system, stuck on bootloop

Hey guys,
i recently bought a OP2 from Ebay which is bricked (Stuck on bootloop). The phone wasn't able to boot into Recovery. Only thing worked was Fastboot. I managed to get stock recovery to work using this Guide (Method 3):
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/updated-28-06-2016-mega-unbrick-guide-for-a-hard-bricked-oneplus-2.347607/
Unfortunately it still stucks in a bootloop. I tryed flashing serveral Stock-ROM's. Does anyone know a solution to fix this?
ADB Sideload give me this output (everytime at around 94%)

Make sure to update the fastboot/bootloader to the newer 3.0/hydrogenos version as all newer ROMs require this to boot.
How can i do this? I have stock bootloader v. 1.0 installed and not able to flash via fastboot cause the phone is locked. Cannot unlock because i'm not able to turn the phone on.
Then just use the standard Qualcomm flash-mode to restore the phone to factory OxygenOS 3.0.2. The utility and 3.0.2 full OTA zip required can be found in this forum if you search.

Thanks for the information. The OTA zip file do I have already. Sadly I can't find such an utility you are talking about. The only thing I found was a chineese (or I think it's chineese) tool which I already tryed but not worked. This tool just brings the stock recovery v 1.0 to life.
Or do you mean a diffrent tool?
In a similar position to you. Phone was working fine (only received it today and tried to get CM13 on it)
My bootloader is unlocked, but phone will no longer boot up, or go into recovery.
I can get it into FastBoot, but it doesn't show up anymore in ADB devices. When in fastboot, the device shows as "Android Device, Marshall London Bootloader interface"
If I switch the phone off and check Device manager it just shows as unknown device and then windows gives me an error message that its not functioning properly.
I have tried to follow this guide https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...ck-guide-for-a-hard-bricked-oneplus-2.347607/
but it won't allow me to update the device driver, even if I turn off signature for drivers.
The only thing I can get to load is Fastboot. I did at one point have a little penguin on the screen, but haven't replicated that again.
Can anyone help? I'm pulling out my hair
Are you sure you didn't just boot it up into fastboot-ish mode? To be able to flash using that tool you mustn't boot up the phone, make sure it's of and hold volume up when connecting the USB cable, this way the phone will enter chinese factory flash mode at which you can flash using the chinese tool. Also the drivers require you to disable driver signature in windows to install since it's not signed.
Got it working in the end. I just ran the application without bothering with the USB driver stuff and it detected the phone. Then flashed the stock rom and it's now booted.
Still can't get CM13 installed, as I get the error 7 in recovery and that's what got me in the mess!
Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk
I turned driver signature of and installed drivers succesfully. I run the chineese tool and it finishes succesfully but the phone is still in bootloop. This is frustrating...

unlock bootloader for v410

I was wondering if there was a way to unlock the bootloader on the v410 running 4.4.2. I have tried FreeGee and my device freezes and then restarts. I am rooted (TowelRoot) and have SuperSU and Busybox installed. I would like to be able to install TWRP recovery.

I have been fighting this for a couple of days. It seems that users are downgrading to a previous version 4 of Android in order to unlock the bootloader. I have been unable to make this work personally. Kingroot rooted 5.0.2, but the TWRP recovery ROM will not load. I think it's because the bootloader is still locked.
Yeah I'm having the same issue. If I flash the e9wifi .IMG recovery then boot recovery I get this fastboot screen which I've never seen on this vk410. I can't really use fast boot commands it seems not to respond well I know something is off I'm curious if its my headspace and timing or the tablets.

Axon 7 not able to install TWRP or lock bootloader

Hello all,
I need help with my Axon 7 (A2017G)
I upgraded my phone to Oreo 8.1 (AospExtended), played with it a bit, but decided to downgrade to 7.1.1 (stock) again.
After I did so, I noticed something different. Firstly when it boots up, this screen appears

It goes away after 5 seconds and boots or if I click the vol up or down button, it takes me to this screen
If I choose anything other than Recovery, the phone just boots up
If I choose Recovery, it takes me here
I cannot boot into recovery mode at all. I can't find out how to install TWRP recovery on here at all.
Also If i boot using power+vol down, this appears
Please advise how to install TWRP and lock the bootloader
Have you tried the Axon 7 tool by Djkuz?
It should be able to get you out of this, I'll find the link for you.

that is, like, 100% normal. you have stock recovery and that FTM mode just gives you adb. If you can't enter fastboot then you would have to install it via EDL.
But before doing that, why the heck would you want to lock the bootloader? Lol you can just hide the 5 sec screen and sell it (or return to zte, they never check), there's no difference at all
If you're gonna lock anyways, you have to install TWRP via EDL (use EDL Tool by djkuz) then install the "remove inscription" by raystef66 or follow the steps on his guide. Then you will get fastboot. After you do that, just reboot the phone. TWRP should be replaced with stock recovery again. Check if it was (power + vol+) and if you enter stock recovery then go to Fastboot (via "adb reboot bootloader") and do the command to lock
Of course you have to be FULLY stock (no magisk or whatever) or you'll brick your device

[Solved] H990DS only able to boot into fastboot and static screen

Hi,
I was trying to install Super Rom but unfortunately I am unable to boot the phone. I had rooted the phone a while back. When I try to turn the phone on I get stuck with the dreaded static screen which is normally an easy fix however I can't boot into TWRP as that gives my a static screen too. The only thing I have access to is the fastboot menu and when I try "fastboot reboot" I get stuck at the LG "lifes good" screen. I have tried to flash two different versions of TWRP (one given in dirty santa and the most up to date for H990DS).
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!
SOLUTION: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77843686&postcount=7
Don't use fastboot reboot. That starts it booting the stock rom, which before the first boot into twrp reflashes the stock recovery again. You need to pull the battery to leave fastboot, then boot into recovery by holding volume down, holding power until the screen turns on, then tapping power repeatedly until it asks to factory reset, say yes. When twrp boots swipe to allow writing to system and flash something. Then booting the rom won't eat twrp anymore.

So I can now boot into SuperRom but I am unable to go back into TWRP. When I do the usual button procedure to get to TWRP I am asked to do the LG reset thing, I press yes twice and then I am met with this screen:

I'm fairly certain that's the one I'm using, but ill re-download it and try again.
Just downloaded your version and it was indeed the one I have been using already. I did however download it again and tried to reflash it using the method you stated above but I end up with the same screen. The only way I can get it to boot into Android after that screen is to boot into fastboot, flash your recovery then "fastboot reboot".
Problem solved! Solution:
1. Download the TWRP app from the play store
2. Using the app, flash Phoenix591's TWRP (here)
3. Use ADB and reboot into recovery using "adb reboot recovery"
Once I did these steps I was able to use the usual method (volume down, release power for one second etc) to boot into TWRP. Happy days!
