Upgraded to 4.3 on my GT-19505 this aft, great upgrade so far though I’m not rooted so no sweat. The only thing I’m curious about is the icons overlaying the “Miscellaneous Content Files” and the “Email” icons. What does the no entry one mean and I presume the e-mail one means failed? Which is weird because it showed 100% complete and moved on...
Anyone know?
Btw this is Kies3
Thanks
Anyone ever seen this before? Also when I click on view applications to backup in K it doesn't list any... :S

Hi Rickyjune
I don't know anything about security wallet - perhaps it's one of those things that locks up your files and applications, but without knowing about it I cannot guide you through a fix.
I assume you do not have a backup taken before you installed it? or even whether you can access them if you have? (This would be a solution perhaps if you have)
I'm not sure whether your applications are all working or disappeared or locked or what exactly. Sadly if it's in a real mess, I can only suggest a hard reset that obviously will remove everything back to the way you first got the device Would obviosly mean re-installing all your customisations and programmes you've added. It's either that or wait to see if anyone with security wallet helps out. Does security wallet have a help line or e-mail support etc.

Ok I'll do some checking but I may not get far. See if you can get in touch with them.

Still think it might be worth asking them a question, because I read a post on their forum - under beta testers I think, saying they got an error on install but that it had in fact installed!
You're only other choice is a hard reset unless someone else has an alternative

I can attest from experience that the only solution (at least that I've found) is a hard reset and rebuild or restore from backup.
My program list frequently disappears, recently twice in one day. I'm still looking for a solution to the problem, which is how I discovered this thread. I can't find a pattern and tips that I have received (my list is under a supposed limit of 50 and all of my Today screen programs are now moved to main memory) haven't panned out.
yep hard reset was the only way
Your rite DonB, i had to hard reset and install everything
wasn't pretty, but I have sprite backup now but I've had no problems and i've installed Flexiwallett
cant understand what went wrong
Hello
I'm fairly new to WM devices, having only had my HD2 for 2 weeks now. Found lots of helpful advice and the like on these boards, but now have a query which I couldn't find anything about while searching the forums.
Basically, my HD2 (unbranded from Virgin) was supplied with 1.48 installed. After about a week of ownership I made a backup of the phone using SPB and installed 1.66 following the instructions on HTC's website. I then installed the backup made with SPB onto my phone getting all my programs and contacts back.
When I soft reset the device theloading screen shows the ROM as version 1.66.77xxx, yet I noticed today that when I view the ROM version through the settings > Software Information tab it's shown as 1.48.405.2 (71294). Is this some sort of problem, or something I should just ignore. I'm having no performance issues or anything like that.
think someone posted about having this issue somewhere else on here - might be worth backing up using ActiveSync/WMDC and do a flash and restore manually as I think it was said the backup put some system files back on and screwed the flash...might be wrong though

Just ignore it mate. The real ROM version number is the one you see when you reset the device. The one you see in Sense/Windows is one in the registry that was no doubt backed up and then restored from the previous ROM version.
Hey all,
Check out the attached screenshot of my messages screen. I updated my ROM to the HTC 1.66 and reinstalled all of my apps etc. But look at my messages. When I go to type one the text is of similar size and hard to read...barely fitting 2 words on one line. Can someone please help!!
Thanks.
Richard
There is a similar thread over on Themes and Apps. Did you restore a backup after updating your ROM? If so, the registry from your old ROM will have overwritten the registry from the new ROM. Hence your problem.
If this is the case, hard reset and reinstall cabs etc manually.
Please Help, I'm using HTC_Asia_TW_1.66 stock rom on my HD2, after installing some apps and mods, it won't boot after a soft reset. I restored the system by SPB backup to earlier status and then all comes back, the phone works again except the photo tab remains blank (black).
Maybe that's because I didn't make a "full backup" but only "system" level by SPB, may this lead to miss something on restore?
Here is what I have now : In the right side there is still counter showing "1/99" (means there are 99 photos?) but nothing shows up. The camera icons on the top-right side are still there too, and they works. HTCAlbum works too. On the bottom the two menu text remain "phone" and "menu", which belong to the home tab.
All other tabs work just fine.
I tried to delete the album cache files but no luck.
As mentioned I got system backups from last stats, I'm thinking extract something from it to replace current files (exe, dlls ?) but I've no idea about what to do~
Any helps are very appreciated...
Sorry for my English...

Same problem
I have exactly the same problem. I just noticed it today. I'm using the WWE 1.66 ROM and everything's been fine.
I have no idea what caused it, and would love some help.
Thanks,
David
The symptoms look very suspiciously caused by the installation of the landscape rotation tweak, TX Total Landscape.cab
I had installed this particular cab before but had since removed.
Same problem
I have the same problem with my hd2... but I did not installed the TX Total Landscape.cab.
I think the problem started when I tried the GTX white theme.cab... but even after its removal, the photo tab still doesn't work.
Is this a bug caused by Cookie's Home Tab 1.8.5???
I really don't know how to solve this...

Thanks Zentury, I think this may be the most possible reason. I didn't use the Tx one for landscape fonction but I do have installed another enablelandscape.cab. This one may cause the same problem. but I can't confirm this cause I've switched my stock rom to energy rom yesterday. thanks anyway!
I tried several ROMs - 2 of miri's, and 2 energy ROMs and all 4 of them lead to freezing of my ""pictures and video sense tab, even after a fresh flashing. I flash my device after I format my SD card, remove it along with the SIM, perform task 29 => ROM flashing and then hard resetting. I tried different compatible radio versions, 2 of the roms were with CHT...still the same bug - pics and video tab freezes few seconds after finding the pictures on my SD card. I think what is common in all these 4 ROMS is the presence of a screen rotating app - in the last ROM (Energy Reference) it is called just "Rotate screen". Anyone know how to disable it?
drkalo,
It's weird cause I'm using Energy's rom (JUN22 Cookie version) and the photo tab problem on the last stock rom is totally gone!
I don't think it's easy to disable the rotation from these cooked roms, maybe you can ask within the specific rom threads.
But I think if I have no problem with energy then you wouldn't... I'd suggest formating your SD card but you've done it. I suppose you copied files back to the card after formatting. Now it sounds like a file error. Did you try deleting any non-image files on your photo folder (DCIM) ? especially album.cache. Move out the videos too, they could be problematics. When using HD2's camcorder I've tried saving videos in other formats and that freezed my phone.
Dear noixdarec,
As you suggest I copied back all of my SD card content after formatting. I deleted the cache files but din't delete the whole DICM folder. Now I did that and then I made several new photos and videos and - VOILA! The tab works without freezing! Never thought of that and I thank you VERY, VERY MUCH! Mersi beaucoup!
Dear drkalo, je t'en pris (you're welcome) ! So glad that you solved your problem, have a good day~
Hi! I've got a problem, similar like in topic "Original HTC mega wallpapers". I loose my original wallpapers (those from folder "Photo"). I think especially about landscapes. Could someone help me and put here or send them for me?
Thanks for help!

Thanks for posting these wallpapers, something odd has happened after I reverted my firmware from 2.2 to 2.1 with a stock rom for T-Mobile UK. I have the brown wallpaper with the vertical stripes on the lock screen and when I try to change the lock screen wallpaper there is nothing to choose from and when I click set wallpaper it crashes.
Can anyone help me please to restore the wallpapers, I don't know which folder they would go in. I checked the photos folder and can't find a system folder referenced in other threads...
Just an update, I found this thread but it says it's for 2.2, would it be safe on 2.1?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1156713
Further update to the above, I found all the wallpapers present in /system/customize/resource but not sure why I can't select them? Can anyone help with that without doing a reset of the phone?

Yes, you have to flash that on 2.1 as well to get your Wallpapers back. Take a Nandroid Backup beforehand though, (via Clockworkmod Recovery), Just in case.
Many thanks 3xeno, I take it that a factory reset would be involved though?
It's recommended , Yes, but, if I am not wrong, I think it will work fine without one. (Don't quote me on this though)
