With our Galaxy S4, I can't figure out how to get the 'Dash Clock' widget on the lock screen ?
Aldo the S4 lock screen doesn't seem to allow swiping to the left or tight for the other lockreens, to add widgets and stuff ?

Ok, I did that, and then I press on the lock screen before I swipe to open it, and hold press the screen, trying to add widgets nothing happening, and the option to swipe left or right on the lock screen, just doesn't work at all it seems on Touchwiz ?

comatose1978 has it right. After you select that setting, go back to the lock screen and swipe left and hit the Plus Sign to add the widget. After you have it added, press and hold to reorder them, to make Dash Clock the default.
When you drag right or left, make sure you are dragging on the widget its self, not the empty area on the screen (cause then it will trigger the swipe to unlock).
Attatched is a screenshot of my phone, held halfway between lockscreen widget pages.

Great thank you. But I just installed Widget Locker instead, gave me more options, and seems to go better with Dash Clock than the stock Touchwiz lock-screen.
Is there a ability to set dashclock as the main lookscreen and use it, when you have a look pattern?

You cannot add custom widgets to the lockscreen with security enabled, like a lock pattern.
No, I'm pretty sure an xposed module let's you use widgets with security on. Could be wrong though

And how?
Edit:
Here is the module:

WHOLE EXPLANATION: So I notice that in devices like the galaxy s4 or Optimus G, in which they have a capacitive menu button, the 3-dot buitl-in menu in apps is not present (Obvious right?) but the thing is, in those devices, when you hit the hardware menu key, the menu appears on the bottom of the screen, whereas in the nexus 4 the menu appears on top of the 3-dot button wherever it is (the position of the in-app menu button depends on the app), this is annoying me since I have disabled the navbar to get more screen realstate and Im relying on gesture control, I set a swipe up gesture form the bottom of the screen for the menu, and its annoying because even without the navbar, the menus keep appearing on top of the freaking 3-dot button, I WANT THAT 3-DOT BUTTON GONE FROM MY APPS! just like in devices that have a hardware key for menu, that way menus would appear from the bottom of the screen on every app and my gesture would look awesome, kinda like in ubuntu touch, thats my goal.
MAIN QUESTION: How do I disable the freaking 3-dot in-app menu button? which files do I have to edit? Please I do not want to change my current rom for some other one that has this option built in... I just wanna know which files to edit, maybe in built.prop or something.
Thanks in Advance..
Screenshot of what you're saying.. Because the 3 dots ARE for the menu or options inside the app.. At the bottom right, right?

NO, this is what I'm talking about, the menu comes out of that 3 dot button once you hit it,

I want it to be like THIS, no 3 dot built in-app, but when I do the menu gesture, it comes from the bottom like this
Rootbox ROM has this feature (and it is actually working), you should try that and see if it works for you
Pretty much you will have to rewrite most of the system to get it removed completely.
Wayne Tech Nexus
There's no way to do this unless you get another ROM. Try any of them though, a lot have the ability to add a soft key menu button at the bottom (AOKP for example).

No it can be done. It is just alot of work.

The reason you have those is because it looks like you're using full screen..

hello!
is there anyway to remove the + screen from lockscreen DashClock
in other words, preventing extra widgets from being added or changes from being made?

It's weird my note 3 does not have lockscreen shortcut option. I bought mine in the Phiippines.
I only have screen lock, personal message, owner information, make pattern visible, unlock effect, lock automatically, lock instantly with power key and action memo on lock screen options.
also on the unlock effect, i only have the watercolor option, not the oil paint.
pls check link
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note_3-review-996p4.php
i also read here that some people using note 8 have this issue too.

I have the same problem. Has anyone found a solution?
Same here. Seems to be a problem on the German ROM.
Zooper widget can be added to the lockscreen and has the option to create shortcuts. Might be a good alternative.
Am still looking for a lockscreen replacer, the default is ugly.
I have the ATT Note 3 and had the same problem. I got the lockscreen shortcuts by turning off security and going in and enabling the shortcuts on wanted. I then turned security back on (in my case pattern lock) and the shortcuts stayed!
Mine is set to swipe. There is no shortcut option.

Mine too. Just swipe and a bunch of icons there on the right.
The shorcut from note 2 is gone. (is that what we are talking about)?
If You have access root try THIS
Shadowlea said you have to set the screen lock to ’swipe‘ first, after doing that i saw both multiple widgets and shortcuts options appeared below swipe options which is also under the lock screen settings. I don't know why they only enable this to run only when using the no security setting.

Because using the shortcuts unlocks the phone without requiring a security check, thus bypassing security and making it useless. So it's only available on settings that do not require a security check.
Setting it to Swipe does not make the shortcuts options appear for me, nor does setting it to Pin and then back to swipe.

Note 3 Lockscreen Shortcuts with PIN/Password BUG
I did a variety of searchs but didn't find anything quite matching, so I thought I would share this on this thread.
If you set the Lockscreen widgets or shortcuts, then enable the password or PIN options (which make the options to turn the widgets or shortcuts on or off disappaer) once the phone goes idle and the screen goes dark and 'locks' it will no longer come back up without powering off the device (or even rebooting). NOTE: The screen will not enable even on an incoming phone call, text or other item that should bring up the lockscreen for you to input your password.
Changing the setting back to Swipe (No Security) will enable the options again and let you turn them off so you can reenable security.
I took my first Note 3 back to Sprint bacuse of this, but didn't figure out until today when I was messing with the settings that this is what had happened.
I can't be the only person that has done this, can I?

What kind of customization? Moving or other? You can swap positions and add a couple predefined LG buttons. Lg says there will be a wireless charging but I will believe when I see it. All this info is available in threads. Those threads say more.
I want to add a screen off and an old-fashioned menu button.

yea I would like to have that option as well.
I also use a screen off button. The one I use can no longer be found on the playstore. Not sure why but I had a backup of the apk on my sd card and it seems to work fine.
Screen off, double tap on any place of the screen where an app icon is not placed.
Menu, what kind of menu button are you looking for?
I'm looking to add a menu button to the on screen keys

Long press on home screen.
Select widget tab
Scroll to the settings shortcut widget.
Add the settings shortcut widget.
Another way is to drag and drop the settings icon from the app drawer
Is any app you could use to prevent from screen to shutting down? I mean, I used to use "always on" app but with 7.0 is not working correctly.
I wish I could just read the book and not to tap the screen all the time to wake screen up.

On my G3 there was an option called "Smart Screen" that kept the screen on while you were looking at it. I loved that option. I don't know why LG got rid of it. It was a separate app. I wonder if it would still work on V20

Screebl... I've used it for years, customizable Screen on based on phone orientation.
Always on works perfect on my v20. I also use screen off widget to turn my screen off as well as double tap to turn on.

problem with screen off and any widget or app i have found is that it is a harder lock than just hitting the button.. you will need a pattern to unlock it just like first boot (ie fingerprint unlock non operational) very annoying...

True. I don't use any lockscreen - so I always forget about that. If requiring you to not do anything to turn your screen on is important to you - then why would you even have a lockscreen setup?
The OPPO Find X5 Pro ships with ColorOS 12.1. Throughout the system, there are tons of features and settings that you might look over. The ColorOS launcher has plenty of settings that let you manipulate the way that your launcher behaves. While you might be familiar with the standard options that let you change the look of your homescreen, there are more settings that you might find useful. These are some of the hidden features that I have found in the ColorOS launcher.
Icon pull-down gestureNo need to stress your thumb to reach apps in the top corner of your screen. Activate the icon pull-down gesture to bring the apps closer together for easier access. Once, activated, you can swipe from the bottom left corner of your screen, which will bring all of the app icons near your thumb. Then you slide your thumb to the app of want and open it. This can all be done with one gesture, where your thumb does not need to tap the screen more than once.

}
To activate icon pull-down gesture:
Press and hold on your homescreen
Go to more
Go to Icon pull-down gesture
Toggle on
Double-tap to lockThis feature will let you lock your phone by double-tapping in an empty space on the home screen. I find that I tend to set my phone down, before locking it. When this happens, it's much easier to double-tap than it is to press the power button, which requires me to pick my phone up again. This also works to wake my phone when the screen is off.
To activate double-tap to lock:
Press and hold on your homescreen
Go to more
Go to Icon pull-down gesture
Toggle on
Rise to wakeAnother way of waking my phone, which I like to use in combination with the double-tap, is rise to wake. When you pick up your phone or pull it out of your pocket, the screen will turn on. This is different than the always-on display feature, as it takes you right to your screen lock.
To activate Rise to wake:
Press and hold on your homescreen
Go to more
Go to Rise to wake
Toggle on
Icon autofillIf you're not interested in spending time to arrange your homescreen apps yourself, you can simply turn on icon autofill. This feature will automatically arrange your icons from left to right, top to bottom, in a natural style.
To activate Icon autofill:
Press and hold on your homescreen
Go to more
Go to Icon autofill
Toggle on
These are some of the best hidden features from the ColorOS launcher that I could find. Have you found anything else? Leave a comment and let us know!
Thanks to OPPO for supporting this thread.
I made folders on the home screen (since I haven't found a way to organise the apps in the app drawer that way) and now notice that the Icon pull-down gesture does work to open a folder but then the icons in that folder can't be summoned in reach of my thumb by doing another Icon pull-down gesture.
Pity.
