Is there a way to find a error log on the Note 3? Having an issue at work where the device wont pull email down while connected to our network, if I use cellular or our Guest Network it works fine. I'm guessing something is blocking the email check, but I have no way of knowing what it is.

I read somewhere that it could be the router firewall can block it

Hey,
I have a seemingly simple problem. I use POP email and I want to check for emails regularly but at home and work I can stay connected to a WiFi network.
I know with Skype I can set the program to use WiFi if available else 3G. Does anyone know if this can be done at a system level so for instance that email and any other apps needing a connection will follow this protocol, please?
Thanks.
Since i do not want to create a new thread (for 2 posts maximum) i will ask here: my phone shows that is connected with the wi-fi (usr9108 router--> access point) BUT when i am trying to sign in to msn, skype open a page in I.E nothing happens, it's like i am not connected to the net.

Most applications will use whatever connection is already on. In your case if you are connected via WiFi then your email will use that connection, if not then it will try to connect by the default GPRS/3G connection setting. I do this all the time.
Okay, yeah sorry.
To clarify I think what I really want is to let the device go into sleep mode and attempt to create a WiFi connection before it attempts to create a 3G data connection.
Other than that, purchasing a cradle and leaving the device in alert mode would be the way forward would it?
Is there a way for WiFi to remain on even if the device is in Sleep mode?
Thanks again.

Oh I see you what you mean. Why not try this schedule an event to wake the device and so long as it was connected to a wireless AP when it went to sleep it will try to reconnect when it wakes then schedule another event after a suitable pause to allow it to find and connect to AP to sync email.
Alternatively try SKSchema or MortScript which are both macro tools to do the above.
Cheers Jazza. Not sure how to 'schedule' an event but I'll do some research into 'SKSchema or MortScript' to see how I can use them.
Thanks for your help.
Got my HD2 now on a T mobile contract, but i have issues with it connecting to some services. It wont update Twitter, or check my gmail, but the internet works ok. It just says i cannot connect with the current connection settings.
My orange SIM has no such issues in it and if i put the T mobile SIM in my HD it sometimes works, but not always.
Any ideas?

I just left T-mobile because the block certain ports so that you can't use various connections, such as msn, I was even having problems with mini opera, couldn't even install mini opera 5.
If you haven't already go in to you connection settings/set up my proxy server and un-tick 'this network uses a proxy server'. That should help with your email.

strange I never had a problem with YouTube.
T-mobile put that stupid adult lock on their phones nowadays. You have to ask them to remove it or do it through their website if you want to view pron or you-tube.
Maybe something, maybe nothing but T-Mobile in north Suffolk / south Norfolk has been down most of the day.
t-mobile is down. there are doin some major works on the mast. summat to do with the strong winds
Mine wont do anything to do with using the network to connect to the internet, including general browsing, it just says:
Cannot Connect
Dialed:
Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings. If the problem continues, reset your mobile device according to your manufacturer's documentation and try again.
Any ideas?

Thanks so much, just found this - unblocked Twitter tab, and hopefully will iron out some msn connection issues. This tip should be in one of the main Leo tips threads (if it's not already).
It's true you have to call t-mobile to remove "adult block" so you can use youtube, or you can log in online and do it.

Does the activation "google account sign-in" must happen through the simcard network?
hi,
Can someone please let me know whether the nexus one activation "google account sign-in" must happen through the simcard network (3g) or it can be done over the wifi?
Thanks.
It first tries through over-the-air as in 3g/edge. But, then gives you the chance to use wifi

How can you avoid it using the 3G/Edge for that, then? Can you start using the phone without a SIM-card, thereby forcing it to do it over WiFi?
Yes, just turn it on without a SIM card. It will complain about not being able to connect, and then ask if you want to use Wifi, IIRC. Then you put in your AP information and sign in. That's how I set mine up initially.
Hi,
I hard format the phone, take out the simcard and then turn it on. It does not activate the phone and shows the same error it was showing .
" cant establish a reliable data connection...."
Are you sure you activate the phone without a simcard?
Thanks.
Yes, you just need to skip the initial login/registration process and once you get access to your home screen turn on wifi and get an internet connection. Once you have a connection you can create an account or login.
That's how I did it. I promise you it works.

Hi all
I have 2 x HD2s configured for ActiveSync with our SBS2003 server. Everything works fine when connected to my laptop via USB or when connected to WiFi (whether at my office or at any remote site unrelated to my local LAN). However, once I am using my data connection I experience the following issue which I have narrowed down through lots of trail and error:
When an email of approx 4k and above arrives I can see ActiveSync trying to sync and it then fails with an error code of 0x80830002. ActiveSync will then never reestablish a connection unless I either remove the particular email from my Outlook inbox, or, I connect to any WiFi connection.
If I set the download limit to 1k, it never fails and I simply receive a trunkated version of the email. However, if I select to download the remained of the text it fails again.
The issue is related to the size of the text within the email as attachements can be downloaded fine.
I have been on to T-Mobile as this feels like a carrier problem as I only experience it when using mobile data connection but they haven't come up with anything.
I'd really appreciate any help you can offer as this is driving me mad!!!!!
Many thanks,
Tom.
Is your Exchange ActiveSync running over SSL?
Not at the moment. I'm just trying to get it going at the moment. I just don't understand how it can work in all situations appart from when on mobile data?

If you're not using SSL then it's possible that it could have something to do with T-Mobile, but I don't know enough about them to say.
Does T-Mobile use a proxy for HTTP?
Do you know if they have a policy relating to syncing your phone(s) with Exchange?
Hi
I just bought a new asus transformer but I cant use my google account on it. when I try to add a new accoutn it says "Can't establish a reliable connection to the server"
Please help!
Thanks
1. You made sure WiFi is turned on, right? Just thought I would ask in case you missed it, there are some who might miss an obvious thing like that .
2. Do you have 2-factor authentication enabled for your Google account? If so you'll need to create a one-time password to login with instead of your regular password.
Hi
We have the same devices
I have tried doing that but I need google authenticator on the tablet and I cant download it from the market because I cant login
Am I missing something?
Thanks
OK
I managed to turn on 2 step verification and generate a password but when i try to add my account using that password it still does not work...
on my samsung galaxy s it took 2 seconds to authenticate...
What version of Honeycomb are you running? Perhaps updating to the latest version might help if you don't already have it? Also have you made sure you're close enough to your router to get a decent signal? Have you got any kind of internet access via WiFi at all on your TF (try opening a web page)? If not it might be a problem with the TF's WiFi, or you could just try again later in case it's a Google issue. Also when you said your SGS connected in just a couple of seconds was it connected to the same WiFi network as the TF, or did it connect over your mobile signal?
[EDIT]: Did you tweak the WiFi network settings on your TF at all? You didn't try to set a manual IP address, did you?
