Lol. Using the ATRIX is so funny. I am amazed I can type on thus thing. I do remember the ATRIX having a nice sensitive screen, a little bettrr than gnex and n4, but the note2 screen is so nice all across the board. Sensitivity, after putting in movie mode everything looks natural and I have hardly seen any black crush and watching videos does not put any hurt on the battery.

Anybody else think youtube videos look better than your usual youtube videos, even high res videos, on note2 for some reason? Looks better than n4 and the gnex and n4 buffered all the time while the gnote2 rarely buffers a youtube video.

A friend just showed me a photo of a girl he is going after on his nokia 5800.. I found it rediculously small screen funny.
I used to use the 5800 in the past and u still remember thinking it had such a large screen.. I also used to complaint of its heavy weight.. Now holding it, it feels weightless in comparison to note 2

lol. i think we've all had a "i couldn't imagine using a phone that big" moment including non gnote2 users. iphone5 users are probably ****ting their pants with that extra row of icons. lol.
Would you imagine going back to a phone without multiwindow?? i just got used to be using 2 apps at once! Also the battery life is great! I can never go back! I just love my note 2! Every other phone looks boring for me. "Show me something i haven't seen...i got a note 2"

you all think that the SGS2 or HD2 or anything else is small in comparison to Note 2? I have a Nokia XpressMusic 5800 at home! This is really small!
There were some conditions and some limits i have put to get the note 3.
One of it was if its not bigger than 5.8 and i am happy amsung listened instead of going for big bigger and biggest they kept it under 6.0.
Now for those shouting about the finishing they also get something different.
Samsung gave a genuine reply to the lg g2 and sony honami.
For me i think the time to upgrade my phone has come and once again this device has a wow factor just like my note 1 when it was released.

Looking at the specs, not even funny, sammy will slap together a nice bloatware again that will eat up more than half of the RAM anyways, not even considering buying if there will be no nexus version of it.

Well it does have 3gb of RAM. Samsung's bloatware can't eat THAT much RAM. This time it seems some of the software are actually useful, like the magazine thing.
Any idea if this will have wireless charging?
Note 3 and z ultra are both nice. Waiting for a head to head review before deciding myself. Htc max might be nice too but i doubt it.
Regardless, will wait for a $500 pricetag anyway. Maybe black friday or an xmas sale.

Then Bye bye to external sdcard slots and removable battery.
Xperia Z1 looks tempting for it's 20.7mp camera, it gets much love from the AOSP crowd and CM, however the screen looks unsaturated and the bezel is huge as Nexus 7. This sure is a tough decision. Note 3 is perfect in every way but freakin' Samsung sources makes flashing to AOSP roms obsolete. There's pro and cons. There really isn't a perfect phone in the market is there?:crying:

Good question. I'd like to have sd card slot and removable battery - that droved me to note1.
Now if s800 will be supported better then I'd love to have this hardware without bloat.

No problem with 64gb card
Whatever people say, samsung really made android commercial which the htc was unable to do in the past. The initial TW on galaxy S and the note 1 evolved greatly and now bears really capable features. Those who are tired of it can move but those who dont want to root or custom flash their devices can enjoy the stock loaded android with many special features like the multiwindow the scrapbook, new S note and obviously the s pen.
Let others do complains about samsung. I am among those who appreciate their hard work and tribute to them to make my note 1 functional and up to date even after 2 years.

I was thinking about buying a Nokia Lumia... aaand the Note 3 was anounced. It's the best update for the note 1. The hardware and the desing are very good. I just hope the price will not be tooooo much high like 700$ ^^. I'm going to wait when it will be 500$.

totally agree
before I fork that money I want to be sure genious devs have adopted it and got it working without to much work. Good sources etc.

I wonder what the screen will be like? Hopefully a lot better than the note 1, it's almost impossible to watch any film etc on mine, if there's any dark colours it just clogs up on the screen, Note 3 hopefully has ironed out all this!

That was my concern, too. I searched and found Note 2 did not have the problem. So, I believe Note 3 also does not have the problem. Cannot wait.

Clove Uk are offering the Z ultra + sony smartwatch 2 + BT headset for same price as Note 3.
My last few phones were
Note 1, Note 2, SGS4, and now Mega
I do like Samsung phones, but it feels like a downgrade going from a 6.3 to 5.7 (half an inch)
The Z ultra on the other hand has a larger 1080p screen! but inferior camera and no flash. Undoubetely, the Z ultra will have **** poor call quality and loudspeaker...
Anyone in a similar boat?
The ZUltras looks and screen with the Note 3 camera and hardware would have made a perfect phone for me...

I owed Sony ZU 3G for about 3 weeks. It is a nice phone, especially for the ability to play ppsspp smoothly with PS3 wireless controller.
Great screen, speed, water prove, usable camera.
The resaons that I sold it on ebay are two things... first, battery life is just a little bit better than Galaxy note. Not so durable.
Second, it only got 16gb rom with about 10gb left for user. Yes, you can root for app2sd, but it would be better to get a larger rom inside without worrying about app2sd things.
So depends on your needs. For battery issue, sony will have a CP2 battery case which will cost you $250 for extra 3000mah battery juice.

Note 3. I had the ZU for a couple of weeks. Was too big because of the huge bezels. Scratched extremely easy.
Great screen for viewing videos and such. Would make a better tablet than phone.
The Note 3 is more than just a large smartphone. If you can make use of its vast array of productivity features, go for it. Integrated stylus > Not stylus for such tasks. (3rd party styli cannot compare)
Note 3 is on another level... please don't compare the two.
Sony ultra is a joke... There's a fine line between phablet and tablet and that device crosses it.

Yes, but at least the Note was pocket-able. The Ultra is an absolute joke. You need to be a Hulk to have trousers big enough to fit the device easily without creating discomfort.

Hey I own the Xperia Z and the Xperia tablet 10.1, They are superb and I have no desire to change the tablet. I want a larger screen though but not even I can justify the Ultra's size. How on earth are you going to transport that around?
This is a question of choice. There will be a market for both devices.
I would like to see a new brand called Sonsam. Sony materials and design with Samsung internal know how.

the area Xperia z ultra really beats note 3 is build quality and it's waterproof. Every other dept including ease of use has to go to note 3. Btw I'm not a samsung fan nor sony just prefer better product.

I like the Sony finish. If you have trousers and pockets or a bag just go ultra. But it is big a lot bigger than the Note. Could you really make this your phone? If you need a tablet with phone functions via a bluetooth headset get the Sony, otherwise go Note.

I did say they were 2 different devices appealling to different requirements/people.
You could say the Note isnt waterproof... who cares.. just a different appeal for different people...
i am really confused which one to buy. as i am from note 3, it is normal for me to go for s5. but i got some negative comment about s5. phone bezel is wide, front camera is 2mp when others are going for 5mp front(like oppo find 7a and htc one m8). but still i have a weak spot for samsung. so please suggest me honestly. i will see this post everday. In Shaa Allah this monday i will buy anyone based upon your suggestion.

what about the heat? my note 3 had heating problem. mostly is the display. s4 had same problem of heating. so what about s5?

Ive not had this problem. It gets a little warm when using full brightness whilst on charge.
If you from note3, better enjoy your phone at the moment. Wait for the note 4

Doesn't bother me cause I'm so cool
JK, but yeah, like total music, only when charging for me, I think. Not even sure if it heats up all the time or sometimes cause I don't touch my phone when it's charging.

The phone has heating problem. When i download from play store, it become so hot in the camera area. Other function cool. When i look from the 170 degree, suddenly there is a greenish color shift. I think may be factory default screen protector. Also color rendering is not accurate. As i used iphone and lenevo. I saw almost same color rendering on those two ips display. Which i think is accurate. But in s5 the color is totally different of that thing. I think may be cause of adapt display. The display a bit yellowish. I think cause of the factory defailt screen protector.

With Cinema display setting it's quite good. Much better than Standard if you like accuracy rather than oversaturation.
Mine G900F has a heating problem when used actively for updates and downloads probably is something related to the CPU usage. But in normal day to day usage is with good working temperatures. However I would check other phones as well and if I owned a Note 3 I wouldn`t change it as the Note 3 is amazing phone i even think it`s better then the S5 or very close.
Hmmm..ecery device has its cons. S5 is no difference. But we can live with that.

Just got my S5 2 days ago and I don't like it came from note 2 and the battery is horrible. Camera sometimes takes forever to focus. I was thinking of z2 is it worth a switch? Or get something else? Thanks

That isn't much time, give it two weeks at least and many more recharge cycles.
How high is your screen brightness set to ? auto or some fixed value.
Going outdoors in auto will boost brightness a lot, this will kill the battery much faster but at least you will be able to see the screen unlike others.

I came from Galaxy Note 3 to Xperia Z2 and I can really recommend it. Battery life has been better for me on Sony and other than that you get bonuses only, premium design, stereo speakers (although a bit silent), water resistant, very good camera, lightweight Android skin from Sony etc.
I would recommend.
I loved my Note 2, the Note 3 was even better, but I tired of Samsung TouchWiz. I just got my Z2 and appreciate Song's minimalistic skin. The Z2 has a lot of great things going for it!

This! The number of times I've used my phone when out about, friends or acquaintances have asked me what phone it is often saying they've never seen it and that it looks amazing.
I have z2 and taking photos they were never blurred in the background. Did they clean the lens from fingerprints. Total fake or old software. As also the kidding sharpness of sgs 5.Tried them both in same occasion and place. Z2 was not far worse than S5 but still a first class in compact cams, and hits perfectly clear macro scene, next time use a cam holder if you have shaky hands.
Z2 is much better than S5
I've had S5 then I bought Z2 later..
Z2 is much better in everything except the camera flash and the smaller bezel
2 GB ram of S5 is too much stupid... even with greenify..
mali 628 gpu is laggy
AMOLED screen drain much battery in white color.. you have to use dark mod apps
