I was surfing XDA today, and the Play Store, back and forth earlier. And thought, what the heck, I'll just use Multi Window and do both at same time.
But these two apps aren't available. How do I add more apps ?

If you have root, install Xposed Framework and Wanam Xposed and you can add more apps through that.

Hi, I see there are a couple tutorials for the Note 2 regarding expanding the choice of apps to Multi-Window. Just wondering if anyone has tried it yet on the S4? I'm certain that this will be part of future ROM's and it looks it's mainly a process of modifying apk's which is above my skill level, unfortunately.
Thanks in advance!
I tried the Galaxy Note 2 method with no luck I am going to try some build prop tweaks tonight and I will report back.

An app called multi window manager on the play store that does that very nicely ... I used to use it on my note 10.1

Thanks. Worked perfectly!

Np ... this is probably my favorite app right now lol

I also can't wait to root to customize which app icons appear in the shortcut bar in the task bar with headphones plugged in.

One thing that's pretty interesting/entertaining is that since I downloaded this app, my status bar goes away anytime I use the XDA Premium app, but it doesn't do this on any other app, lol!
Got a question.
On the Nexus five you can swipe to the left to get google now to come up. Is there anyway that can be added to an s4?

I'll have to try that all I want to do is even swipe up and google now appears. I use Google now allot and its a pain to have to open the app would be good to just do a gesture and it opens.
I use Nova launcher and have set double tap on screen to be google now. Very handy.
This thread has the launcher you're looking and some other 4.4 goodies.

What this guy said. I have the launcher keyboard and Google now all working great. Even the OK Google voice search working just fine.

Anyone know of a way to change the double tap home screen to Google now?

isn't that more of a kernal option?
I honestly don't know but I want it badly
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It is not a kernel option. You will need root, you will need to remove or freeze S-Voice and then use an xposed app (can't remember what) to change what launches with a double press.

Nottach Module will fix that. Install Xposed, then Nottach, and you're set.

Home2 Shortcut in the play store will also do that. Just make sure you disable Samsung voice whatever in the settings>app menu.

Do either of the apps above allow you to set any type of shortcut for the home button (long-press or double-tap)?
Some apps require that S-Voice is still enabled.

If Nottach is not working use wanam xposed module. Other way is to install Nova launcher and configure the option for home key binding.
Did I see a Samsung commercial showing the S4 with Multiwindow feature?
That seems strange, isn't that available only after rooting?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
*Facepalm* nope if you look in your toggles you will see that theres one for multiwindow
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
Actually I just now remember the difference. If you root and install the X pose framework......doesn't that allow more programs to be able to use the Multiwindow?

gummy kit kat
I actually flashed gummy kitkat and lost my multiwindow thinking cause its not a touch wiz based ROM so is there anyway I can get it back I really loved it
I got a Note 3 yesterday and updated it to KitKat straight away. Loving it! However, why have they decided to get rid of the feature that lets you hide apps from the app drawer? Is there any way to get it back?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using xda app-developers app
Just download a 3rd party launcher that has that feature or just make a folder and put in your apps you want to hide.

There is not option for that, if you want to hide system apps, just disable it from settings or download Apex Launcher
Coolio I've disabled some apps but the ones that can't be disabled are now in a folder called "Zzzz" Thanks guys
