Chrome crashing when clicking on settings.

Is this a known issue?or am I just the unlucky one. Already cleared data etc. Etc.

Yeah its a known bug . Flash a newer ROM and it works as its meant to.

It's stock, unrooted!.. I do all my flashing on my phone

Same here, Chrome doesn't work, look like a alpha version

I Ignore Chrome, and use the built in browser (C/M 10) It syncs all my bookmarks, just like Chrome would, and it runs flash!

Same as you but i think sync in chrome is more advanced as it could sync also with chrome desktop for those who want to sync to pc not just android devices

Yeah, reading you I recent noted that runs flash in JB and sync bookmarks, great browser!

The stock browser (C/M 10) does have my PC bookmarks included in the book mark choices. and Chrome to phone works great!

The original browser and dolphin much more smoothly

I have been watching several nexus 7 reviews(the only official with jelly bean) and it comes with google Chrome, I dont know how chrome crash too much in cm10.... and From where is the native internet browser that we have in cm10??? If JB comes with chrome..

Chrome settings crash workaround.
It's a known issue.
You can still access the settings by going to the Welcome to Google Chrome page (chrome://welcome/) that appeared after initial setup. There's a link to the Settings that won't crash Chrome.
Just bookmark chrome://welcome/.

For those interested Chrome works perfectly in AOKP Jellybean Rom.

Nova Prime frequently defaulting to Touchwiz

Hi Guys,
I have set my default launcher to Nova Prime. But frequently it crashes and goes to the Touchwiz launcher. Any idea how to rectify this??
I love Nova Prime & want to use it exclusively, but this is pissing me out.

Maybe its still not compatible with Jellybean . I guess you can need to contact the NOVA Developers through Mail.

It is perfectly compatible with JB and Note 2. Been using it from the moment i got Note 2 and it has never defaulted so far. Sorry to ask this, was this bought in play store?? or is it a cracked version.

Bought on the Play Store when it was 0.99 cents.

I've been using it and it has been fine for me too. Perhaps un install it and reinstall it? Perhaps it is caused be a certain theme or widget or option?

Go to settings/apps and clear cache/data, see if that helps. I had the same thing when I restored it via titanium backup.

It happened to me too. I fixed it by marking the Nova launcher as the default one in the Nova settings.

I have been using it from quite some time now. It defaults to stock launcher when pressing home button after using MXplayer.

You should really check out go launcher. Its free and better than nova prime.
Its really improved my note2 experience.

I would suggest running their beta versions, they get updated often to address little bugs. These are still official versions, they are just minor fixes in between their Play Store releases. To update to beta versions go to
Nova Settings and scroll down to Nova, press check for updates...
Press the three dots and click Beta and Check automatically.

Unable to install non market apps on galaxy note 2

First I downloaded the tubex app from google and it installed like a charm.But when I wanted to install another app I was unable to install that the app installer didnt allow me to click up the install button.But the cancel button ws working up.so I formatted up phone with full data wipe then all non market apps were easily installing.But now again the same problem arrived.please provide me with any solution. (On stock galaxy note 2 rom for India)

This makes the most sense to me. I think the apk is the problem, not the phone. It could also be that the apk is specifically compiled for an incompatible device.

You're not using SCREEN FILTER when trying to install non-market, are you?

I was using the screen filter app.To my surprise you are right.when I uninstalled the screen filter I was able to install app and it worked thanks a lot:thumbup:

Haha, yeah, I had the same trouble many months ago! I was baffled! I knew I was doing everything right, but nothing would work!
Also, just so you know, you don't need to uninstall it, you just can't have it activated when you try to install apps. I guess you just can't install apps while it's dimming your screen, but I still can't understand why.

Black lock screen when using music app

I get a black lock screen when I listen to music on Google Play Music.

I get this too, and it's not missing album art, the album art only takes up a small chunk at the top of the screen. His picture just happens to be of a song with missing album art.

I was viewing it in the bright sunlight and didn't see the missing album art place holder. I'd imagine it's a feature then to accentuate the player.

I do not believe there is any way to disable it.
Try using a music player that overrides the lockscreen (such as Winamp)

[Req] extended keyboard

Running stock ROM rooted and was wondering how I could integrate the extended keyboard which I've seen featured in cataclysm ROM (awesome ROM by the way). The keyboard has the option to add a fifth row of keys used for all the numbers along the top.
Any idea how I can stay on the stock 4.4.1 ROM I'm rooted on now and add this feature? Is there something I can take from cataclysm root folder and move into bigxies ROM I'm on? ( thanks bigxie...solid work as always)

Change either Google or aosp keyboard to custom input style to English (PC) and enable it. It's under advanced settings in either of the keyboards settings

Thanks for the response but I'm not seeing it. Never seen it before cataclysm KitKat. At least I've seen it in Samsung note 2 TW keyboard but never on aosp keyboard.

You have yo add english (pc) As a language. It's not usable though. Keys become too small for me.

Thanks for the input. Went ahead and flashed new cataclysm update to 4.4.1. There are a few nice features in this ROM but its pretty close to stock. Here is what the keyboard looks like. Love this option. And you don't sacrifice key size.
