Did you check the option to allow installing non market apps on the options/security settings?
Yup definately

You sure you didn't install malware instead?

This makes the most sense to me. I think the apk is the problem, not the phone. It could also be that the apk is specifically compiled for an incompatible device.
You're not using SCREEN FILTER when trying to install non-market, are you?
Don't ask me why....

Haha, yeah, I had the same trouble many months ago! I was baffled! I knew I was doing everything right, but nothing would work!
Also, just so you know, you don't need to uninstall it, you just can't have it activated when you try to install apps. I guess you just can't install apps while it's dimming your screen, but I still can't understand why.
Glad that worked for you! !

Hi Guys,
I have set my default launcher to Nova Prime. But frequently it crashes and goes to the Touchwiz launcher. Any idea how to rectify this??
I love Nova Prime & want to use it exclusively, but this is pissing me out.
Thanks in advance.
JD
Maybe its still not compatible with Jellybean . I guess you can need to contact the NOVA Developers through Mail.

It is perfectly compatible with JB and Note 2. Been using it from the moment i got Note 2 and it has never defaulted so far. Sorry to ask this, was this bought in play store?? or is it a cracked version.
Bought on the Play Store when it was 0.99 cents.

I've been using it and it has been fine for me too. Perhaps un install it and reinstall it? Perhaps it is caused be a certain theme or widget or option?

Go to settings/apps and clear cache/data, see if that helps. I had the same thing when I restored it via titanium backup.
It happened to me too. I fixed it by marking the Nova launcher as the default one in the Nova settings.
I have been using it from quite some time now. It defaults to stock launcher when pressing home button after using MXplayer.

One of the times it defaults is when you long press the home button and go into the task manager.

Its really improved my note2 experience.

I would suggest running their beta versions, they get updated often to address little bugs. These are still official versions, they are just minor fixes in between their Play Store releases. To update to beta versions go to
Nova Settings and scroll down to Nova, press check for updates...
Press the three dots and click Beta and Check automatically.

I've been getting these ever since I updated to 4.3 I believe... Its not a popup that's in the notification shade, rather one that pops right in the middle of the screen, and it shows an advertisement for an app saying download free from play store (I think it had advertised a free game "paradise island") and then it tries to say why it recommended that app by showing other downloads i made off the play store.
Are these normal/from the play store or are they from a spammy app? Please help, thanks!

Its an app you downloaded that uses push or pop up notifications. Delete it.

This app will find any app that is pushing advertisements to your screen.

Nothing detected, its not something that's filling up my notification shade just a nasty popup. I went through all the games I had in my phone (not many, just 6) and unchecked the "allow notifications" option in the app settings menu. I haven't gotten one tonight, but next time I do get it I can screenshot it...

Sounds like a malicious app though, I haven't heard of popups on a phone not related to SMS notifications, or halo.

Check what is running, take a screenshot of what is running, if you don't see an app which shouldn't be there then go to the cached processes area above.

I don't think you can achieve what you want unless you use another launcher, Nova is what I personally prefer. I may be wrong but I think that will be the only way.

And can nav bar be transparent on nova ?
Sent from my LG-D802 using xda app-developers app
Well... Technically yes. But until you get the 4.4 update, or if you move to aosp 4.4 rom, the option is greyed out in the nova menu. It is an option, just not on 4.2. But I think if you use nova and just keep gravity box stuff like you have it, it may look right for you. Lots of options on nova.

I use toggle fullscreen app from google play and it fixed that issue when I use udn.
In G2 xposed, there's a button under themes and colors for transparent status and nav bar. I'm using it, works great on 4.2 (vzw).
Hello.
Let me explain my problem. So far I've used my GN3 SM-9005 with Stock Rom (Android 4.3) using Light Flow (LED notification) without any issues. Then I decided to root my device. At that moment it automatically downloaded Android 4.4.2. And now, I cannot have LED notification anymore!! I tried a lot of things: wiped, rebooted, changed to a custom Rom (Crash Rom) and even used other LED notification apps. It's always the same: impossible to have my LED blinking (however LED works when rebooting).
Could you please help me? I really need this functionality...
Thanks in advance!!
Try uninstalling light flow and it will work again

I've had the same problem. Finally figured out that when you use blocking mode if you look it blocks notifications. You have to make sure you have it unchecked. Lol took me awhile to figure out what was wrong with my device. And some Exposed modules will do the same. Hope this helps!
Thanks for your help. Unfortunately even by uninstalling light flow and Exposed, there is no changes...

Have you tried light manager?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koo.lightmanager
Are you expierencing this prob with only a handful of apps or all of them? Stock or 3rd Party?
A IR remote app I use, lost the LED light when I updated to KK. I updated the app and it was fixed. Considering your LED light still works when restarting, your problem isn't Hardware, which is good.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
I already tried Light Manager and a lot of others apps... as you say, it seems not to be a hardware issue but it is very annoying. I think I tried everything, in vain

Double check the app your using has notifications enabled (not blocked in app info) and under settings/device/LED Indicator:

What happened to voice typing? I factory resetted my phone and have lost it again. What gives? I used it very often!
How do I get it back?
Update: if you disable Google search, it also takes away the voice typing. I enabled Google search to test it and it appeared on my keyboard.

try the new app "Voice Typing Keyboard" VTK... much better, no microphone button to push, just say "listen" or "spelling" when in text field and start dictation, can move cursor around, insert punctuation, symbols, do editing formatting etc, all with voice
