Today an OTA update of firmware version XXUEMJ8 got released in India. But since I have rooted my phone, it says device has been modified, can't check for OTA.
How can I get the update on my phone.

Hiya i bought a samsung galaxy s4 i9505 unlocked from amazon directly. For some reason i cannot get updates via kies or ota and i manually had to flash a offical firmware with odin so that i had the most up to date firmware. Does anyone know why i cant get updates ota? My carrier is "3" in the uk however the phone is factory unlocked any help is appreciated. What would i have to do to get updates ota or via kies?

the device is unbranded so it wont get updates from 3 i think, i think it will get updates from samsung directly
however yes 3 have released ota update however my phone is saying the latest updates have been installed when there are actually infact updates available

As your phone report that the latest updates have been installed, that means everthing is OK and the phone status is official...
Sometimes some roms available to dowload (for example from Sammobile) could be not available yet in OTA mode. I always flash with Odin, I don't really relay on OTA updates...

okk thanks, just a quick question which country gets the updates first? and which countrys firmware are you running on your device?

Picked up an S5 after years of iPhones, Which i bought from the three store in the UK.
After installing a few apps i started to get error 24 installing netflix. I didnt fancy doing a factory reset so i routed my phone to use a root browser to remove the temp files which resolved my issue (but of course i still had to do a factory reset) However i didn't realise that android confirms if its official or not and then doesn't receive OTA updates.
I'm not much into messing with releases these days so i downloaded the stock UK firmware (NCE) from sammobile and it now says official after flashing it.
However i notice that there is an OTA update out today (NC2) which i'm not getting when i check for updates (the message says latest update installed).
Is this simply a case of the update not having rolled out to everyone yet or does the update checker use the serial number of my phone to check that it should be on the H3G UK firmware rather than the stock UK firmware? Kies also states the firmware is up to date.

Rather than waiting for ota would I just be as well flashing the new stock uk firmware through Odin?
O Just recently got a sm-g900f and im stuck with kitkat 4.4.2, cant find Lollipop update, not even 4.4.3 or 4 4.4, i got it from orange and its unlocked, is there anything i can do to receive updates? It says im up to date and that there are no updates available. Cant use kies since i dont have a pc atm
There isn't 4.4.3 or .4 update for Galaxy S5 and Lollipop update is based on region and only few of them received it. But you can always update it yourself by downloading firmware from sammobile.com
I know but as i said i have no pc so i cant upgrade via kies or odin
Lollipop was only released yesterday in the UK. Mine is also unlocked but still no OTA update ?

i am not able to see OTA update .i was on 4.4.4 when i checked about updates and it was showing you are on latest updates.there is no OTA update.then i installed the 6.0.1 through odin still its not showing OTA update since there are 2 more updates came after this 6.0.1 update,may security patch.i have tripped knox way earlier.recovery is still stock.when i first tripped knoxed still i was able to getting OTA updates.whats wrong now ?
I see the nougat ota update for PH1, but Verizon released new sotware before I saw that. I don't see any ota nougat updates for PI3. Does anybody have them?
Downgrade to PH1 and install the OTA update from recovery. Worked for me.
