[Q] Kies not restoring SMS - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone.
I unrooted my Note 3 and used Kies on a Macbook to restore my backup to the phone. However, everything gets restored except my SMS. Even the MMS gets restored. I know the SMS is saved in the backup because I used the same backup file before and everything was fine. Now, Kies only restores some of the SMS from a few people, shows (No Subject) for most of them, and since a few hours ago, wont even detect the phone.(Connecting...) Anybody know what's going on or is there another program that can restore the .sme file which holds the SMS? Thanks!

[Q&A] Action Memo restoring using Titanium Backup Pro multiple versions

I managed to successfully upgrade my Note 3 from 4.3 to 4.4.2 (which in retrospect seems like a bad idea due to the battery drain problem).
Nonetheless, I have rooted my phone for the most part (binaries won't update properly though).
The issue I am facing though is that I used Titanium backup pro to backup pretty much everything. However, when I go to restore my action memos, It shows multiple memos as attached.
Upon restoring all 4, it shows the notes, but they are all blank.
I simply need to access the data so I can write it down. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Have exactly the same problem. Did you ever get access to the data that you had on the Action Memos?

Save all SMS and load into new phone

Hi guys,
I have the Galaxy S4 but will be eventually getting a new Android phone in the not too distant future. I have several text messages on the existing phone. What is the best way to save all the text messages and seamlessly load them into the new phone ? Any recommendations ?
I plan on rooting the new phone. If I used Titanium backup, how would I back up the texts then load them to the new phone ? I currently have CM right now, can everything be restored via Titanium backup on a TW or another newer version of CM later on ?
I tried using titantium backup to restore but had no success in the past.
I have been using SMS Back up and Restore and it works on CM as well. The same developer has one for call logs too. Call logs Back up and Restore if you want those saved too

Huawei Ascend G700-U10 - Titanium Backup - Restore SMS - Stock ROM

Hi guys, I've got a Huawei G700-U10 which has stock ROM installed, with Android 4.2.1 (never installed an update, as far as I can remember).
I never messed with the phone. But did root it, so I could use Titanium Backup (payed version) on it properly.
I used Framaroot to root it, with SuperSU.
Backup were running smoothly. But few days back the phone didn't boot up at all.
Seems to happen a lot with this phone, it went into a bootloop.
Tried a few things to get it back up, but nothing worked, so decided to do a factory reset.
As I did have my full device backups (on ext. SDcard), I thought, there wouldn't be any problems.
So I did a factory reset, by pushing the Volume up + Power button.
After that the phone booted up and I installed Titanium Backup on it.
To my surprise the phone was still rooted...(?)
I can restore everything else besides the SMS history. It seems to restore a part of the SMS history and then stops, with the error:
Data restore failed for "Messages (SMS & MMS)".
Checking the SMS app, I see that only a part of the history has been restored.
I tried to make Titanium Backup the default SMS app, but that didn't work.
Do you guys have any idea on how to get a full restore of my SMS history.
It doesn't have to be restored on the phone itself, it can be a text file for all I care.
Any help is appreciated :fingers-crossed:

Lost SMS MMS Flashfire

I recently did a full backup with Flashfire Pro due to needing to return to stock. I usually use SMS backup though this time I thought my messages would be in this full backup.
After Getting up and running with the new OTA, I did a restore of userdata, cache, and internal storage. Everything came back fine except there were no mms or sms. Call history and everything was up to date. I finally had to restore my SMS backup that was over a month old.
Is there something else I should have restored? I still have the full backup and I would appreciate advice on getting my months worth of texts back.
Nexus 6P
Project Fi
7.1.1 Security patch level 1/5/17
FlashFire Pro v.0.53
I realize this is in Nexus 6 section . . .
I would like to ask the same question:
Did a full FlashFire backup of my Samsung sm-g930v (Verizon variant Galaxy s7). Everything including all my wifi ssid`s & passwords, all personal app data including logins, etc were saved. I actually saved the backup file to the sd card, rooted & installed flashfire on another sm-g930v (same build,G930VVRU4BQG1), & it was like it was the same exact phone:good:
All except no sms/mms restoration, The call logs were there right up to the very last one.
Also I noticed during the restoration process, after the md5 hashes were verified, while the data was being written, several red lines of logging appeared on the phone`s screen, then it continued, finished, & rebooted.

Lost all my SMS/MMS when I let Google setup restore most recent

I wiped my phone and installed a new rom for a couple hours, received one text during that time. Then I wiped again, installed a fresh AICP rom, and let Google Setup restore my most recent backup from the cloud. It only restored the one message, and I lost a couple years worth of messages.
Is there a way to restore my messages from the cloud backup, to a certain point-in-time?
Thanks!

If you go back to stock and restore that backup you should get all your messages. I had the same issue on ROMs that sms was not restoring. Even though Google does a pretty descent job backing up I use sms backup and restore also. It's free and can backup anywhere (google drive, device, email etc.) That way you never have to worry again.
