I'd say use titanium backup and freeze the apps you consider bloat. Freeze the apps and run it for a few days to make sure you have full functionality and haven't frozen something the phone or other apps require.

There's no best, it depends on the user. Search for your device custom rom list and start from there.
Best means....no bug...smooth n battery friendly..gud performance....gud appearance. ...power user tools etc

You have the list, search for your device custom rom list and start from there.
best one is Crash v6 with Haslazk kernel v0.11C

If you're a beginner, I HIGHLY recommend going to www.galaxys4root.com. They have absolutely everything you need right there to get started and much more. That's how I rooted my Galaxy S 4 for the first time. Hope this helps

Kingo Root is what I used and it was very simple just go to there website and click download for windows and run the then plug in your phone give it a couple minuite to install the drivers and then it gives you an option to root just click that and wait and then your rooted
