Try turning off JavaScript; been happening to me, too, and that's all that's helped.
I'm suffering too, cleared cache, didn't help. Unrooted xoom.
Ill try turning that off.
Only problem is limits website use...... not good

Are there specific sites that have been problematic?
Not having issues here.
When it dies, it just "goes away", right? Not "Force Close"? If so it's the null-pointer exception I've been seeing. JS is causing it, don't know when or why.
'sup KC!
as i have mentioned on other sites, in cases like this its great to have a backup browser. also please post up the sites that are causing issue so others can test. ive not seen this. i have a stock xoom wifi latest updates.
Happens in backup browser too, I'm using dolphin HD as backup.
Happens on mini2.com, BBC sport. Tried turning off Java, but its needed in lots of sites.

Make sure plugins are set to on-demand. I've seen a lot of sites that crash the browser with a ton of flash ads loaded from js.
I have seen this problem as well on many sites including android.net. It just started out of nowhere on Friday evening. I made situations better by clearing the Dalvek cache, but still crashed my browsers (Stock Browser & Dolphin Mini). I even reinstalled my recovery, and the kernel jst for grins. This helped out a little.
I then saw a note about set CPU causing problems so I uninstalled it and installed no frills CPU. This made things even better.
Next, I cleared the caches again which helped more.
Last, I upgraded the kernel to 1.2.2 and this fixed it up very well.

Yeah, Thursday evening for me- I'd just loaded another kernel from upstream right around the same time and had thought that was it (despite nothing in that kernel being related) and even backed up to a known-good kernel and init scripts (which didn't make a difference).
It's a null-pointer in the WebCore browser SDK, which explains why the Dolphin browsers are affected as well (as they also use that SDK). Opera and FF aren't affected by this, but they both have their own particular issues so I'm preferring Dolphin HD instead.
I've cleared all caches and turned on JS again, and have stayed away from sites that I know will bring it up (www.thesuperficial.com in "Desktop" mode is one), but I don't like knowing that it's only a workaround.
What I'm more curious about is if there was an update (to an app; none of the system files seem to have been affected), or a web-page we've all visited that's dropped something into the caches that is tripping up the JS processor. I don't know enough about HTML personally to know where to look.
Subscribing. Have this exact issue using stock browser, Dolphin Hd, and Maxthon on the following sites:
Www.ford-trucks.com/forums (disabling java allows me to read the site for about 5-10 mins before closing. Posting closes browser immediately.
Www.thedieselstop.com/forums (same results as above)
My Xoom is bone stock FWIW...
Having the same problem with both stock browser and dolphin. Really frusterating because the only fix I have is disabling JS but the only reason I bought the xoom was to do scheduling for work and I need JS for that. Hope someone ffigures this out before my return period is up or its bye bye xoom :-(
has anyone else found a remedy for the browser crash? its getting pretty darn annoying.
Are you rooted and running a kernel? Do you have the latest version flash player of installed? Is it only crashing on forums?

first of all let me say that z06s ROCK! =)
Anyways, I am running the Tiamat OMG Rom with the built in Kernel. I am running Flash 10.3.185.22 and it seems to be mostly crashing on forums.

Is it only the browser that is crashing or does your Xoom reboot also?

My Xoom was rebooting before, but now doesn't do it as much and seem stable. The browser is what is crashing often.

To answer your question in my other thread (sorry for the double post), it even happens when I uninstall the Taimat OMG rom and reinstall bigrushdog's 3.1 rom.
according to kcrudup, its a JS issue, but it also happens when I set my JS to on demand.
I've been having this issue for a while, occasionally the phone would lag/stutter when simply swiping through home screens or the apps drawer (With no applications open) it would still run games and apps perfectly smooth though. Only way to fix the lag is to turn wi-fi off and back on, restart the phone, or wait for the lag to go away. Any thoughts on this? has anyone been experiencing this? I tried searching the forum, but couldn't find anyone experiencing this.
Here is a video I uploaded:
you might be better off trying a factory reset tbh. this hasnt been a vocalized issue
Do you have a constant wifi connection during the lag?
On my xperia arc it connects and immidatly disconnects again and because of this the lag appears..

Did a factory reset but lag still occurred occasionally.
If you have a Google Play Music widget on your home screen, that may be the cause of the occasional lag. I removed the widget and so far no lag.
This is normal for an Android phone regardless of clockspeed, number of cores or GPU power.

Never had this issue with my previous devices and others seem to be not having this issue, so I don't think it is normal for an Android to behave this way.
I'll add my voice to this thread.
I've had mine since the weekend. Yesterday night, it started stuttering, in exactly the way you said. I restarted, it went away for a bit, then came back. I tried killing all running applications, made no difference. Another restart fixed it and its smooth as it was again.
Wonder if it is the WiFi causing it?
Incidentally, I was reading some custom kernels fixed the problem for some, but I'd rather not get back into all that nonsense (I've had enough flashing ROMs to last a lifetime thus far).

What's happening in that video is not normal. Everything does appear to remain stock so just keep searching until you fix it. No butter to be found there!
I only get this initially when I restart it and when its on. Swiping first time stutters. Then all ok

So your phone is not rooted and you haven't flashed anything on it? Maybe you can remember when this started and you install some app , maybe it causes this? If so this is not normal! go to the thread dediacated to factory re-flash , this is the only option then

Phone is not rooted or flashed. Might be an issue with one of the apps but it would be very hard to isolate the issue. I have requested a replacement device from Google since I couldn't figure out the cause of it.
Mine does stutter ocasionally but thought that is normal... In xda-app it stutter on almost every single scroll.

It has no problems running apps, perfectly smooth, no lag at all. The stutter only occurs occasionally when simply scrolling through the home screen or app drawer.
It's normal because it's Android.
Android lags. And will forever. It lagged on the G1, it lags on the N4. It will lag on the N5.
It will lag until Google decides to fix Android.
All the people who claim that their device doesn't lag are lying. Simple as that.
God. I've been looking all over the forum and apparently only me and ONE other guy noticed the massive stuttering and lag while using any web browser and Google search... Does anyone else also have this problem?

Touchwiz Browser is horrible comparing to AOSP one.So....use this free app on Playstore to install AOSP Browser and you will experience a fast internet browsing. It`s way better than Touchwiz Browser. Is working on MJ5 but you will need to get rooted in order to install it.Other thing that is great is that it syncronizes with Google Crome.
Yes, Scrolling is laggy in Google search. but browsers work fine for me.
Why I'm not surprised at all...?

Thanks for the tip Ive tried to enable HW acceleration but did not noticed any improvement while browsing in Aosp Browser, its still choppy and laggy, if any 1 fins a work around i would be much appreciated if you post it here.
i feel the same too...i use dolphin browser and it is lag very much T.T
There's something wrong here :S
Korean GS4 have been updated to MJC. (build date:10/26)
Now all third-party browsers which include SBrowser perfectly work as smooth and fast!
The initial release MJA have a same problem that scrolling is laggy in browsers.
Just wait for sams,
their weekend might be stolen..:banghead:

Same here too ... i was using boat browser which run flawlessly on 4.2.2 since the upgrade to 4.3 scrolling is lagging ... on the other hand chrome is lagging less and seems to work better consuming less power now ... generally that ups and downs in some apps seem weird ... i have the i9500 btw
Hope you are right, lets wait for the next builds updates and see if this issue is fixed.
Yeah, this issue is disgusting. Not only browsers, now AquaMail, which is my default email app for a long time, lags, along with many other apps! Yes, especially for those apps which need an internet connection! Changed browser from Naked to Opera, but no way I am changing all the other stuffs to just have 4.3! Hardware acceleration is definitely broken, enabling/disabling under dev option don't change anything by 1%.
Tried that too but with no sucess, saw no difference at all, you probably right, HW acceleration must be broken indeed.
Hello everybody I have a pretty annoying issue with my brand new note 3 (n9005).
With the newest YouTube app update all the videos are lagging no matter what quality... is this a problem with the newest update? Could anybody test and confirm?? On my note 2 and my girlfriends s3 everything is smooth... The most time I am using force GPU rendering so I tried it with this option enabled and disabled but its the same. With other apps like supertube or of YouTube videos seem smoother...
This is a good video to test:
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XSGBVzeBUbk
At the beginning when river is coming there is lag and also when jumping rope at around 04:20 for example...
The question is how such a beast with a snap800 can even lag? o.0
I even have some lag especially scrolling lag in different apps... Is it possible that some apps aren't compatible to the new proccesor yet??
Any feedback appreciated thx

Help, i've had my Note 3 just about a month now and ever since I've had it I get seriously bad lag when I'm updating apps from Play Store.
It's that bad that if I update all apps and there are 3/4 apps I have to wait until they are done otherwise the phone gets that laggy I can't do anything.
I haven't done a reset but I'm thinking I probably will need too, unless anyone else knows what it could be?
Thanks

Happens to me, I don't really care for it because it only updates on WiFi. My phone gets stuttery when it installs the update more than when it is downloading. Also to note, it's recurrent on 4.3 and 4.4.2.

Doing a reset won't solve the issue, it's more that the system is focused on getting the install to be quickly and painlessly finished and causes other processes to slow down due to CPU demand changes. I'm running a custom ROM and kernel and still get these problems, and before I was on stock 4.3 so I can confirm it's not your hardware or personal configuration issue.
Also when your launcher lags, it's due to the fact that you're on the launcher but it has to do a live app removal from the drawer and then reinsertion of the app.

Thanks for that explanation, that does make sense now, however coming from previous phones (Sony Z1 and HTC One) these never had that issue and the Note 3 is more powerful, im a bit confused. So basically it's Samsung's software that's the cause?

Also, the Lookout backup upload slows both my phone and the internet. Any idea why that is happening? Is it uploading everything again and again or just the changes?

My other Samsung phones don't have anything installed and still lags.
However, I do have some security apps installed to check for viruses, but the thing is, it only checks after the app is installed, not during install, and the lag spikes in only during the install and not after.
I use Avast Mobile Security to scan my apps.

As a TF700t owner I haven't noticed any lag from updating apps on the Note 3....but that's most likely because I'm used to a device that becomes entirely useless when updating apps (or doing anything in the background, really) because of an I/O issue...
Devices will always get a bit sluggish when updating apps, as they need to access multiple system and app files.
