Is it set to MTP mode as well? Also does the device show up if you run the 'adb devices' command?

Hi happened to me too.
Type *#7284#, so you'll enter PhoneUtil and be sure both the "UART" and the "USB" are set on PDA!

Help!
I rooted my Galaxy 3 and since then i can only connect and transfer data between my phone and my computer by allowing USB debug mode. It used to work without a driver installed on my pc (only data transfer mode like with a pendrive), but now my laptop (which doesn't have Kies on it) doesn't recognize it. I tried it with my TV and it said "unsupported USB device". It used to work as a pendrive but now nothing recognizes it:---( Please help:-C

Hi! There is no notification bar on the phone screen, because it's blinking. Or you mean this notification should be on the computer?
Thank you in advance!

What he is trying to say, is wich is the default action when you connect the USB.
Example: every time that you connect the USB the phone gets into Kies mode, or Mass Storage.
My G3 is configured to ask what to do...

idk . when it was working and i connectedmy tab to the pc it would get 2 notifications. usb connected and usb debugging
i cannot adb remount, i get device not found
I've got the same problem. If you drop down the notification and tap the usb connected entry, you can get the mount option for mass storage but no debug.

[Q] Turning USB Debugging on while Nexus connected to Toolkit/ PC, safe?

Hi,
Was just wondering. When I had my Nexus 10 connected to the PC and wanted to make a backup with the toolkit I didn't see any serial number below "adb devices" even though I had the adb drivers installed . So i went on and activated USB debugging in the developer options while being in the main menu of the toolkit . The PC told me then that new drivers where installed.
So i started thinking : is it safe for the device / the internal storage to activate USB debugging just like that while it is connected to the PC and while being in the toolkit main menu?
Thanks for your help!

The toolkit itself doesn't keep a connection to your device so it shouldn't damage anything or be unsafe.
It just execute various ADB commands through it's interface.

Cannot connect nexus 4 to pc

I have spend 2 days figuring out way to connect the phone to my pc running win 7,but no luck.Pc detects it as new device, but driver installation fails. It shows Nexus 4 as unknown device in device manager.Tried universal naked driver, but it only installs ADB drivers, and my device is recognised as ADB device.I dont have wifi in my pc,so please guide me to correct drivers or please provide solution.Im on 4.2.2
I have windows 7 on my PC and I did not installed any drivers, maybe your USB is faulty? Try connecting it into another computer and see..
You shouldn't need drivers for mtp access. Try turning off UAB debugging

[Q]MTP not detecting on laptop

Hi guys, I have my N4 for about a month now but since I got it I never got MTP to detect on my laptop. I was only transferring my files through PTP(camera mode) and bluetooth so far. Now I want to transfer my Band road backup and flash custom roms so that would require me to browser through the folders on the laptop.
PTP mode only works when USB debugging is ticked though. And MTP is nowhere near. When using PTP I have to manually move the files to correct folders after disconnecting the phone from pc.
I have rooted, unlocked so i think drivers are all fine right?
I thought about Wifi transfer and such but I have limited bandwidth here and only have one laptop to try.

Reinstall drivers from the Nexus 4 toolkit. Go in to device manager and see if it says "Galaxy Nexus ADB Interface" (yes Galaxy Nexus). If it does, then enable USB debugging. It will show up.
Yep, unload and reinstall the driver.

The problem for me was Windows media player, i had to install that to be able to connect my nexus 4 through MTP to my computer.
Dont know if it helps for you, but you can try it!
What os is your laptop running? if XP then search for mtp xp fix.
Got it working. yay! Thanks guys!
