Samsung S4 supported light for LED? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hello guys,
I have Samsung s4 and i have installed light manager but it dont support all colors?
Can you tell me which colors samsung s4 support for LED indicator?
Thanks

What colors are you trying to use? I also use light manager and so far haven't had a color not work. But then again I use a lot of colors like FF32000 and so on. Are you inputting the colors into the hex color code under CUSTOM? Are you using the "FF" in front of the color? Let me know what color your trying to do and I can see if I can figure out anything.
I also have used an app called HTML COLOR PICKER from the play store to find colors I liked.

All colors are supported however the tint on the led itself within certain color contrasts may look very similar to eachother making it almost impossible to see the difference. For example if you use the lightest baby blue possible you will notice it, but if you go slightly south on the color scale you will almost not see the difference.
You'll really only see a color difference on the led while switching between primary colors.

Inverse screen colours to save battery

I was wondering, on the mac if you press command+ option+ control+ F8 it inverses the screen colours.
Ie. If the screen back ground on browser is white, it will become black and the fonts become white. I use it all the time to read in the night and avoid screen glare.
But if someone could do something like this for our note, we might beable to reduce the battery consumption while browsing etc for example.
It would really use the oled properties too save battery.
Just a thought.
Ps. I use tapatalk with the black back ground, and it's easier on the eyes.
It's there such an app that can do this for any screen on our note?

I second that. At night it would be great to be able to invert the colors on the browser.
No replies yet?
By the way, strange coincidence, I had been thinking about the same thing since morning...

There are some blackout themes for android. one in particular is black android 2.5. i used it on my gs2 and with nitr8's insanity mod i was getting 4 days batt life.
if you make sure and use as little of the display as described in the thread that neverthemore posted, your display will use very little power. thin fonts, black backgrounds where ever possible. i heard somewhere that red uses the least amount of power, but im sure that topic is very open for discussion.
either way, using a single solid color over white is a good idea since white needs all the pixels on, whereas red would only use red pixels. green uses green etc etc but since the samoled has the pen tile i believe that means 2 green sub pixels? right? somebody please correct me if i am wrong.
I'd really like something like this, also! Just a few hours ago I started a thread in the XDA forums main forum for forum related issues (can we say forum a few more times?) asking for a dark theme for us AMOLED users.
ChadTheWocko has a great work around for using opera mobile, but once you change it it's difficult to change back. I'd love a simple toggle widget for reversing colors.
Maybe chainfire 3d can do this if CF gives it some more of that love has

LED not showing correct colours :)

Hi guys,
I just purchased 2 GS3's. One black and one titanium grey. On the 1st night i put then to charge i noticed the black phone's led was shining brighter (red) while charging but i though it might just look brighter as its on a darker surface. Then i noticed that the titanium grey GS3 was not displaying the correct colours for notifications. So i went into setting and changed the notification colours and realised all light colours were not displayed properly, for e.g.. white is displayed as a light blue.
Does anyone know a fix for this (bedsides taking it back as i got them both from abroad) ?
Had anyone else experienced something like this?
Also just to mention it seems like the on/off button has a different feel to it (does not have that click/spring) to it as the black GS3 and also the camera does not seem as sharp.
Any info will be appreciated !

There are only 3 colours available in sgs3 stock red while charging, green when fully charged, blue for missed events notifications, what diff. Colours you are taking about?
Are you using any external 3rd party applications to change led colours?

Yes i agree there are 3 colours while charging.
While both phones were charging (red led) it was noticeably brighter on the black phone.
Concerning the white led light on whatsapp messenger its supposed to be white (i know you can change the colour in the app settings). On the grey phone it displays the white led light as a light blue. If i change the app notification colour to display a yellow led light it displays it in a greenish colour.
To cut a long story short the led notification light is not displaying the correct colours......
I have changed different custom Roms so i know its not software !

It could be whats app issue, coz on normal stock, all required led lights work fine here on JB leaks, not yet tried official JB yet...

Try *#0*# on your titanium grey s3 and check if it displays the correct led
It's probably a mis-balance of the voltages to the LED. This could be a driver chip or resistor out of tolerance. Nothing you can do about it except replace the phone. I doubt that they would seriously consider exchanging it for a minor fault like this.

Thanks Vineet all working correctly.
OK i took both the black phone and grey phone and observed them both closely . I have realised that the led light on the black phone is visible when off but on the grey phone its nearly invisible when off. It seems they covered the led with the grey colour of the phone and maybe thats why it doesn't show the correct colours.
Im not sure if that makes sense, its hard to explain.
It would be nice if someone else with a grey S3 would comment.

Red, green and blue all display properly but not as bright as on the black phone. Its only the light colours that are not correct like white and yellow.

Any way to get "true" blacks in 4.2?

I thought my N4 had horrible blacks until I realized that Android was using dark grays instead of blacks throughout the menu system. It makes the screen really hazy.
Not a fan.
Is there any way to correct this short of using a custom launcher?

Use a app that changes the colors. Of course this won't fix it either, it's just the way IPS screen is, AMOLED screens produce the best blacks.
Alternatively, you can download a inverted ROM that has a black background instead of dark gray / bluish.
I think the ROM you're looking for is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2028025

Temp fix for different calibrated screens

I was just reading stuff on the Samsung forums unfortunately S4 user are having issues with red and pink push which leads to smearing on their screens while scrolling I found a link for a app that lets u calibrate red, blue, green on our displays even lets you adjust the contrast. This should help until we get a perm fix.The app is called screen adjuster ...Post results so we can figure out the best setting..https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5uZXRtYW5zbGFiLnNhIl0.
Works ok (I've used it ever since they took away native kernel level controls in CM versions later than CM7)
Just be aware all it can do is *add* light. It bumps up the R G or B values for every pixel in the entire panel at the same time, even black. So at some point blacks will start to look washed out. This lowers contrast generally and does nothing to help gamma.
My personal recommendation is to just use two of the three RGB sliders (you shouldn't ever need to use all three unless you like your blacks to be some perfectly calibrated shade of gray instead), ignore other settings. The HTC One does not have an OLED display like a nexus.

how i can get the white backround in Phone, Settings and Messaging app?

yes like the title says...i saw it on galaxy s 4 and in videos from note 3 reviews...but how to get this ?
You can go in to Settings -> Accessibility and invert the colors, but maybe thats not what your looking for
As for white background in SMS app, i saw that there is an option within the SMS program to change to various backgrounds(there are some bright ones) when reading an SMS, but it doesn't seem to work for the background on the main window.
I'm also interested in a white theme. Developer of the theme called "Domination" in "Galaxy Note 3 Themes and Apps" section said he might make a white theme. Might be something worth waiting for.
On most phones, the White theme is bound to the White phone.... Is that not the case anymore?
Though I can imagine Samsung left out the white theme because white pixels eat 200% more battery life than black ones on an AMOLED screen.

Yeah its still the case, I'm guessing he has a black note 3. I used to have the white theme on my white Note but I installed Domination Dark for that exact reason, battery life definitely improved
