Everyone is more than likely referring to Flash Gordon app that gives you options to flash zip files. But if you use it you should definitely check with the dev for that individual mod.

Using the app called Flash Gordon which allows us to flash zip's without having recovery.

TWRP Install over CWM6 for P3113 Galaxy TAB 2 7 inch

I can't seem to find a link for the version of TWRP that will work on model P3113. I have CyanogenMod 10 Rom JB 4.1.1 with Clockwork Mod 6x.
Can I even install TWRP over CWM6 and can I do it in Mobile ODIn Pro? I have that installed.
I also have Goo Manager and cannot figure out why I cannot find or download TWRP from there unless they do not have a version for my Model or that ROM/Kernel?
I am new to the forum so I cannot ask questions yet in the developer sections which is starting to get annoying since I had one or two threads I could have asked this question on.
Thanks
Use goo manager to install twrp.

Use mobile Odin if you have the proper files. Why do you want twrp instead of cwm?

Just wanted to try it. So this brings me back to my first question. Is there a compatible version for the Samsung galaxy tab 2 7 inch running cyanogenmod10 latest nightly build?
I Google searched and searched within Samsung forum. I found a version 2.2.1 but I think it was for a hero touch

Recovery has nothing to do with the ROM. Nothing!
I had it saved. I'm a pack rat when it comes to files. Flash it with cwm. http://d-h.st/B1w

Will this version work on the p3113? The linked file is p3110
Thanks
I just thought about what you said that cwm recovery has nothing to do with ROM but according to the guide I used it said I had to use a cwm version 6 with JB. so that is why I mentioned the ROM version because it was based on JB. So would you not think it does indeed play an important role in choosing a compatible recovery?

Developers or tutorial writers list the recovery because thats the one they preffer / use themselves, but most of the time, it doesnt matter which one you use!!
Btw, the reason they say to use CWM6 with Jelly Bean, is because CWM will automatically stop JB from erasing CWM and returning the stock recovery,
but even if you flash with lets say CWM5, you can still remove the script that will undo CWM, but you will have to do it manually (it's an extra step)

The only I see that could get affected is updating TWRP thru Goo Manager. TWRP will give the T-Mobile version instead of ATT.

You can manually download TWRP from their website and install it using the "dd" command in a root terminal or root adb shell. It's a bit more hands-on, but in the end you just run a command or two. Instructions are on TWRP's website, and are specific to each phone. WARNING: If you do end up flashing a recovery via this method, be 100% sure you selected the right phone on TWRP's website, and be 110% sure you get the partition number right at the end of the "dd" command. Flashing the recovery to the wrong eMMC partition could easily result in a hard brick. (basically, just follow instructions and you'll be fine).

Ahh, yes, goo will install the TMO version, you need to use the flash att version in the Dev att forum.
Aou maybe right, that might be the only way, I didn't find the flash version....you could try this..

Do you guys honestly think your posts have enough information to be able to help? We need more information, For example what guide was you following as there are multiple. What recoveries have you tried were they thought the right variant? etc. etc. etc.

Make sure you grab the right twrp file for your device. make sure you have your loki file in the ADB tools folder.
Use this Guide and it should work like a charm
i recommend changing the name of your TWRP '.img' to 'recovery.img' so its easy to type in the command window

Stock recovery question/request

I was hoping someone could help me out. I searched the forums but couldn't find anything. Is there any way to extract the recovery image from the firmware zip? I tried to do so on my PC but I received an error saying the zip was invalid which I'm assuming is because it's signed by HTC. I'm trying to avoid flashing the firmware in RUU mode since I then lose root. My goal is to be on the stock recovery with root so I can receive OTA's when they are available. If not, does anyone happen to have a copy of the stock recovery for the 1.19.605.22 software . I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Great thanks. Saw this tool on a couple of other sites but only for Linux. Didn't know there was a Windows version. It's pretty straight forward. Feeling kinda dumb for missing it.

[Q][STOCK] Downgrade to sprint Stock

Hi,
I've found the following (SPERRY_SPRINT_7.1.1_NCQ26.69-48_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip) stock ROM on firmwarecenter. But it's not a usual ROM, I can't flash the zip with TWRP as usual.
Do you guys have any link to the Sprint stock ROM ? Or any tutorial to explain how to flash a ROM like this one ?
Thank you,
Djokx
Unpack the zip file first and use fastboot for flashing whole firmware by using fastboot commands. Ex: fastboot flash boot boot.img

They don't typically make stock firmware for flashing in custom recovery. Unzip, rename files from .xml to .img and install with fastboot.

Here is a decent video on flashing stock firmware on a Motorola device.
Thread cleaned - could we try and answer the guy's question and avoid bickering please? Perhaps someone could zip up a Recovery Stock ROM?

This is largely true, with a few notable exceptions. Wileyfox, for instance. From personal experience.

Here you go

Untested since I do not own this device, but it should work for you.
PS. I was mentioned over here, but I guess it got cleaned. I am sure nice things were being said, right? lol
edit: Just noticed this is not the exact firmware you were looking for (33 vs 48).
