Do you guys honestly think your posts have enough information to be able to help? We need more information, For example what guide was you following as there are multiple. What recoveries have you tried were they thought the right variant? etc. etc. etc.

I realize this now after i made my second post of bricking my phone,
I did get recovery to work. The 2.6.3.5 i was using isn't loki'd so i went to down to the 2.6.3.2

Make sure you grab the right twrp file for your device. make sure you have your loki file in the ADB tools folder.
Use this Guide and it should work like a charm
i recommend changing the name of your TWRP '.img' to 'recovery.img' so its easy to type in the command window

The only I see that could get affected is updating TWRP thru Goo Manager. TWRP will give the T-Mobile version instead of ATT.

You can manually download TWRP from their website and install it using the "dd" command in a root terminal or root adb shell. It's a bit more hands-on, but in the end you just run a command or two. Instructions are on TWRP's website, and are specific to each phone. WARNING: If you do end up flashing a recovery via this method, be 100% sure you selected the right phone on TWRP's website, and be 110% sure you get the partition number right at the end of the "dd" command. Flashing the recovery to the wrong eMMC partition could easily result in a hard brick. (basically, just follow instructions and you'll be fine).

Flashify recovery install

I've installed twrp via Flashify and i'm ready to start flashing rooms, but i'm wondering what kind of limitations I have in terms of kernels and whatnot?
I know that with Loki it eliminates the need to unlock the bootloader, but being that I didn't pushing using adb and just used Flashify will I face any problems flashing any roms like CM or carbon?
Thanks!

Nope. Flash away, your fine.

Thanks a bunch lads, I wasn't sure if I was gonna be able to or not so you've made this phone infinitely better than my xperia zl from before. I was i love with thing but now this G2 is the full package for me.
This has been the easiest root and recovery install ever, easier than a nexus lol!
All I need now is the premium pack for LG G2 xposed pack and i'm all set.
I'm well aware it's only $0.99 but i'm literally that broke until pay day hahaha

[Q] Help flashing recovery on VS980

All,
Currently running 4.2.2 12b on Verizon LG G2 rooted with ioroot22. I really want to flash CWM and then either slimkat or CM11. Issue is, there are like a million different threads on how to flash recovery. I have no idea which method is the most reliable at this point or where to get the latest recovery build as there seem to be so many different opinions. One thing I'm sure of is that I don't want TWRP based on the bad experiences folks seems to be having. Can someone please refer to the right website/thread where I can get all the info I need? I'm sick of searching all the threads and getting contradicting info.
C'mon folks, just a few pointer please. Thanks!

I have successfully used twice on my D802 in 4.2.2 the .bat method CWM install in the link that I gave you. I've flashed Philz after, in recovery.

[Q] TWRP installation issues

Hi there, i've been trying to install TWRP recovery but keep running into an issue where it says "install unsuccessful, or you are already using TWRP" however I'm not running twrp I'm using whatever recovery cm11 came with. I have selected the right phone model jfltexx and tried a few versions of twrp but still not joy.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Apologies if this has already been posted somewhere else and if its in the wrong section.
Thanks in advance.
How are you trying to install it
Put the phone in download mode and install twrp tar file with odin, look at YouTube tutorials before hand so you know the procedure, it's easy

Terminal emulator, works everytime. Tutorial on TWRP page for your variant and there's a Q&A section on XDA btw.
@trooperjohn use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.bvgemert.flasher it can't get any easier than this! Just download the recovery.img and flash using the app
Me Gusta!
The TWRP Manager app wasn't working correctly for the last few versions so I stopped using it and relied on Odin. I therefore would use Odin to switch recoveries.
This isn't terribly relevant to the OP's request, but after switching to TWRP, you won't need a third-party app or Odin when the time comes to update the recovery. TWRP 2.8.4.0 and later support flashing recovery images within the recovery itself, without needing an app or Odin.

Is it safe to upgrade to TWRP 3.0.2?

Hi there.
Is anyone here using TWRP 3.x? I'm still on 2.x, since I read of lots of problems with newer versions of the recovery on this device, but I'd like to upgrade now. Can anyone give me some feedback?
Thanks in advance
It works but as with multiple posts not with Aroma.

I see no reason to update if u have no issue on 2.x. sometimes upgrade is just a no go.

Try it.. It totally a new design You can revert back, if you don't like it.. By flashing the image through the new twrp itself.

If you're trying to downgrade, it means that you've flashed TWRP.
If you've flashed TWRP, it means that you already know how to flash a custom recovery.
If you already know how to flash a custom recovery, then this is EXACTLY the same thing. Just pick an older version of TWRP and flash it the exact same way you would flash any version of TWRP.
And if you don't even know how to do that, google is your friend.
