Google server comm breakdown
Have the same problem on Samsung GS III running CM10.2 nightly build

Same here on stock nexus 10 in UK.

It is problem globaly! Google is experiencing major error with sync servers. Just sit and relax. It will be on-line soon !!! I hope

Hi, sorry for bumping this. I'm experiencing this same issue now.
My device is LG G2 VS980 (verizon), yesterday I flashed the Malladus 1.2.7 ROM, then signing into Google failed. I have a Nexus 7 which is syncing without problem. The only problem is when you first setup the device to log into your Google account.
I'm not sure is this Google server's fault or there is something wrong in my side?

Just changed my google account password, then I have to redo the signing in process for all my 4 android devices, the other three sign in without problem. But only the LG G2 failed again.
Then a search from the web shows the solution is just disabling 2-step verification. It works. The 2-step verification is the most stupid thing from Google. Now I have to resort to a much complicated password to protect my account.

I'm on BlackPearl rom now, before that PardusHD, same problem. Disabling 2 step didn't work...
Edit: Looks like it worked, disable 2 step then readd google account.

had this problem on stock rom. i didnt do anything but it somehow stopped on its own.

Having this problem on an A500 tablet, works fine on my G2. I refuse to disable 2-step. Just have to wait it out as this was working fine earlier.

Same problem
HTC one, Revolution HD 53.0 mit Android 4.4.2(german), can't communicate with google server. Did a lot of things nothing helps. Can go to playstore via browser but not direct.

Google Now screwed after update?

Yesterday I got a Google Now update to show the Sport Teams and Public Alerts. Somehow the update screwed my Weather reporting. When I open Now, I get the ususal Weather card with proper weather in Montreal:

When I tap on it, instead of showing me the current location, it displays Washington DC? WTF
I remember that previously, it used to redirect me to a google.ca URL and now it goes stright to a google.com URL:
Also, when I search for something on Google Now, the search results are stuck at the bottom, instead of scrolling all the way up like they used to:
Reverting back to old version solves all problems:
Not happy at all. I did a factory reset of the tablet, hoping it will solve the issues, nada, nicht, niet. I also reset the Chrome and Search apps by removing their cache and other stored data. Anyone knows how to fix this? Apparently, to properly report the weather location, the URL needs to go to google.ca instead of google.com one. I would appreciate some help with this issue, thank you guys.
OK, more updates on this issue. The ONLY way I was able to disable the Chrome setting that pushes the verification to google.com (instead of google.ca) was by disabling my US VPN connection, then resetting both Chrome and Google Search apps. Now I have an option in Google Search > Privacy & accounts > Search on google.com:
Still, I'm not more advanced... Now the weather is reported from Quebec city, instead of Washington, heh. No Montreal love... and is such great city:
Apparently, this is ongoing for a while and no developers reported a fix to the Google Now bug.
Does anyone knows where Google Chrome user profile is stored on the tablet?
Idk what's wrong with yours but I use mine everyday and haven't had a single issue with it. Just go into apps and clear there data for chrome and see if that helps

I guess you missed the part where I cleared the cache several times and also formatted the tablet entirely, ehh?
Are you using precise location?
Yeah I'm using the where I am option. I don't know why yours isn't working. Are you in or outside of the us?

I'm in Montreal Canada. There are other people in States who have the same problem:
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=35465
I noticed that on my Galaxy Nexus phone I did not have the Precise Location dot marked as blue... and it asked me to "Use Precise Location". As soon I did that, my phone started to report wrong locations also. The card is correct, but Google Chrome is not... now both on my phone and tablet.
Yeah I have no idea I just did one by asking how's the weather and I works fine. Is your GPS enabled?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Mine is fine too. Looks like you got to reflash the stock rom or whatever rom you were using

Guys, did you actually read my post? I'm on stock ROM and I did a factory reset, as well many app resets.
I have no idea how else you want me to put it... obviously everything is stock with all default options enabled.

What do I do with this message?

Intermittently I keep getting a pop up message showing the following. I am not sure which application is causing this to occur. Is there a way to find out which is the rogue application?

Hello!
This is a bug that Samsung is aware of and is trying to solve. There isn't much to do, other than ignore it or completely reinstall. It pops up every time you turn on wifi and connect to a connection. Hopefully a bug fix will come with the next update.

This happened to me
When the notification comes up, pull down your notification tab, then where the notification appears, tap and hold on the notification (long tap). You will get a pop-up saying 'take me to the app' or similar , tap that and it will show it was Knox Notification. Once you get to the App, force close, and clear data. This will stop it recurring until samsung issue a fix.
hi ,
Here is another take what it could be >
from what i read in my local forums, if you long press on noticfication it takes you to KNOX notifications ( thats giving notice ? )
( further it is a speculated that , most apps use wifi etc warning appears, when you switch wifi on .?)t
presently.. do not have his issue at all ,so cannot confirm above .!
good luck
The popup message is not a bug. Its a security feature built in by KNOX which prevents you from messing around with root.

Lagging and some crashes

I got my phone(s7) maybe 3 months ago and it was working fine but after updating it for three times it started to: 1-be heavy sometimes and it did show a 'touchwiz' crash while swiping between home screens. 2-it closes some apps saying i've to report a problem, apps like "scorehero", "firechat" and "vector 2". 3-the last thing i have here is when i'm using messenger and chatting using "chatheads" i may see the message but it still be in the notification bar like it's not been seen ... does anyone have the same issues or have an answer to my problems ? And sorry if my english is bad

About the messenger issue.. It's app related, I'm having the same issue with messenger, so are my friends on galaxy s5 and lg g3.
As for the rest of the problems, maybe the oculus app is causing them, people are having issues with phone lagging and apps crashing because oculus app keeps trying to install but gets into a loop. Try disabling everything oculus related in package disabler (no root needed). If it's not that, U should do a factory reset after all these updates, I mean, it's samsung, sometimes the phone doesn't work very well after updates for everyone.

After the last update for the software I was updating my apps on the google play but I noticed something .. the app is 100% downloaded but its not installing i didn't really know the reason at that certain moment when I tried to open any app (the one I really did open was 'Shazam') the app didn't start only showed a blue-colored screen but after 10 minuets the app that I was updating started to be installed and without touching anything 'shazam' started ...... so I did the factory reset. The former problems are gone but I'm having the problems I've already mentioned

OK Google is Haunting Me

I intentionally turn off OK Google detection so my phone is doing one less thing, but it still is working and the options are disabled. I've only recently started to notice this. Tried to enable and disable the options again... no joy.

This may be painfully obvious, and I'm not trying to sound sarcastic at all, but:
Have you tried saying OK Google to see if it's actually working? How about just removing the widget from your home screen and replacing it with one that isn't voice activated? Or perhaps both..

Yes, it does work when saying OK Google. Also, would removing it prevent the mechanism on the backend that's listening from working also? Or would the service still be running?
I know that when I removed it, there didn't seem to be any listening going on. I think it uses this process in Maps as well as a couple other GApps, so after removing it you can try it in there/disable it in there as well. If you have root, you can always freeze it with TB. I completely removed it from my phone, so I don't have it to play with to try to find these things out. That's always the first thing I do, so I know very little about tinkering with system apps without root.
You can enable OK Google in settings.
try disabling your google account in settings.

MMS Not Working In Anything Except Samsung Messages

Hi,
I saw many topics about this, but still haven't been able to fix it on my phone. The only app that seems to work with MMS (sending or receiving) that I've tried is Samsung Messages. I've tried Textra and Android Messages (google), neither work. I've been on and off trying to get them to work since I got the phone in April, to no avail or luck. I can't even get the MMS to work when I disable WiFi, so I'm not sure what is going on. My carrier is Verizon. I've also tried setting the MMS mode to Legacy (from the default of System), but that didn't help.
Has anyone had any luck getting this to work? One thing I haven't tried is uninstalling Samsung Messages (or disabling it via BK Disabler) as I'd prefer to not lose all my chat history. I'm not looking for other texting apps, would like to use Google's or Textra over Samsung's.
Thanks in advance!
Check out screen shot. A couple of bucks for premium features. This is my SMS app for my S8+ and Pixel XL.

Just tried, also not working for MMS. Texting works. Not receiving or sending MMS, whether on Legacy or System for the MMS APN type.
Something is definitely blocking other apps from working.
Sorry, it's work perfect at my S8+. Don't now who to help you.

Tried resetting network settings, cleared system cache, disabling Samsung Messages (+ service worker), rebooting, still doesn't work. :/ I'm starting to think it's an issue specific to being on Verizon's network. Could it be something on their end that I need to call in about?
